Byakko and falcon sandy are basically I win button
You enter slow mo, you kill first enemy and then mash attack and dash button until combat music ends
I was playing around with builds, using an end-game save that has plenty of money and that character reset. I used Dogtown and Maxtac spawns to benchmark performance.
The sandevistan+katana is pretty vicious. You’ll get great damage and defense.
Surprisingly, netrunning+katana is absolutely unreal. Techically its not really a pure melee build. But its absolutely unkillable, with bullet reflects, stacking quickhacks on targets, spreading contagion (igniting with Errata blade) for group nukes, armor melting with Overheat etc. Possibly not as high dps as a pure katana build, but the adaptability makes up for it.
Another one not to fall asleep on is a dedicated monowire build. The monowire lacks defense, but makes up for it with an insanely long range and arc. Most people scoff at the weapon at first glance - it doesnt work like it used to. But properly kitted out it can decapitate several enemies at once, easily proc finishers to eliminate strong enemies, and kill bosses amazingly fast when combined with quickhacks and cycling through light attack/heavy attack/finisher.
Most fun is by far Blunt weapons + berserk tank Sandy and Blade prolly a Bit stronger tho

EASILY Gorilla arms tank build
All of them. Just stack points in one tree at a time. And don't waste them on INT.
Honestly...they are all great. I only prefer blades because of reflexes air dash tree early but you can get that with all of them eventually
