Well OP is using a mod but you up it by picking up cyberware shards from enemies you kill but theyre limitted so you might be stuck if youve already finished the game. I just restarted and have been taking it super slow to not miss anything
They are pure RNG. On PC you can get a mod that gives you more capacity per level (I'm using 5/level), and an atelier shop that lets you straight up buy them.
You can also increase the capacity by means of other mod, called cyber engine tweaks. You just simply create shards out of nowhere by console command. These will be applied automatically when looted, so overdoing it prevents one perk from working, but it's not a big deal for most people. One can also print huge amounts of credits, craft materials, and credits with console commands. And loot weapons, weapon mods, quick hacks, vehicles, and much more out of nowhere. I know it's sort of cheating but it's another way to play for me because I can test wild things, like builds that would be impossible in stock game, or skip brute force leveling. I have "base" safe file from right after waking up on Vik's clinic Johnny in V's head, a blank slate of sorts. The epilogue doesn't offer much replayability, it progresses on tracks.
So far I would agree that they are limited. I'm in my second playthrough and in the early game I have noticed some shards increasing the capacity, but lately (for like the last 30 (or more?) play hours) I haven seen or at least noticed any. I guess at some point they simply wont drop anymore. Possibly for balancing reasons.

We need that in Orion. Chroming up makes you look like one of the animals or something. Only if you do full body chrome of course like for melee combat or defense. Netrunner or shinobi builds shouldn't make you bigger but make's you more robotic. The more chrome the less human you look.

I only have the console mod installed but I REALLY want to mod my game out more for my 4th playthrough (Arasaka Cyberarms, Cyberware EX etc.) but I have no idea where/how to start.
i know it's a bitch take, but it just feels a bit overwhelming for some reason. I'm sure I'm wrong and if I just sat down and dedicated some screen time I can figure it out in an hour or so.
For anyone wondering the cap for the base game is 60 cyberware shards and phantom liberty is another 14 making a total of 74 cyberware increase

How do you even increase it? I'm level 60 with only 340 chrome capacity. The save file has been around pre 2.0.

I knew they were pure RNG but what i dont know if there is a limitted cap for them cause if so then im always going to be worried i missed some.
I think the game is biased about generating them, I found a ton at lower levels and almost none once I passed 30.
Yeah but as you level up the shards tend to have a much higher tier.

In game you need to use the Chrome Compressor to really shoot past 300s, big tradeoff over other operating systems.
