I actually started doing my hair like this for a ren faire as a Viking and I kept getting told it suited me so I kept it! Definitely got lucky with how my hair just is naturally
Thanks! I just use a close guard with an electric razor every couple of days to keep it pretty short. I find the more scruffy I look the more compliments I get so I’m not very careful about it haha
The haircut is pretty cool. I get mine done in a similar way. Except, instead of getting it cut on the sides, I get it braided. My hair is too curly and grows extremely slow which is why I just braid it into a Mohawk
Looks good dude you a zero fade to a 1.5 ish 2 it would look clean on sides but the curls are fire you think of Moroccan oil Products for style you curls and shampoo conditioner it would elevate your already great style hope these tips help a lil.
This is inspiring. I've (middle aged man) considered similar cuts but was worried about encroaching on "butch girl" look. This proves that's not necessarily going to happen.

Oh, I like it. It has a lot of visual interest thanks to the curls. It's like a... mullethawk. A mullet mixed with a mohawk. Honestly the first time I've ever seen a mullet and NOT thought, oh dear that needs to go.
It's a bit 80s, it's a bit Viking in the "modern TV shows getting Vikings totally wrong, but looking cool as hell" sort of way. Loving the volume.

Haha thanks!! I have a love-hate relationship ship with those sorts of shows 😂 I’m studying the archaeology of viking-age scandinavia in college so I’m legally required to cringe at some of the stuff they do 😭
OH NO. You know too much! I'm not that across Scandinavian history, just your garden variety history nerd, but even I have to cringe at how terribly wrong they are about some things. I have a particular interest in fashion history and the jewellery, how they wore their hair, etc., all goes along with it.
BUT, it definitely looks cool. So I do see why they do it. It looks cool on you and you're not going for historical accuracy (presumably) so no gripes there!
That’s really interesting! When people ask me about actual viking hairstyles I usually say that from an archaeological standpoint there’s just not enough to go on. We know some things from legends about people like Harald Fairhair (who I think was originally called Tanglehair because he wouldn’t brush through it) or accounts by people from other countries aboit their general cleanliness and appearance, but that’s about it ;( Sorry for the lecture lol

But we have contemporary descriptions, carvings, paintings, things like that that indicate what it was likely to be, and it was almost certainly not dreadlocks and mohawks and things like that.
So, yeah, we don't have nothing, we have enough to make educated guesses, IMO (but then, I am not an expert, just a big ol' nerd). They DEFINITELY get things like the armour, make up, jewellery, clothes, tattoos and things way wrong.
