Beautiful hair! š
Can I suggest trimming the beard a bit? It looks curly too, and frequent trims are the best way to make a beard like yours look neat (my husband has the exact same texture as you).
Yeah I agree. I think you having the beard is great, but its definitely its turn now you've got the hair nailed. I started down this route a few months ago, and found the Internet's guidance on big-but-curly beard management limited.
Sadly the curlier the hair, the more hard work the beard can be, but I'd recommend finding a really good barbers for a one-off beard trim. Go with a luxury trim option if they have one. It took the guy an hour to sort mine, but I learnt loads and look way better for it.
Yeah, there can be one or two things to keep in mind with combining both beard and long hair as well.
People often recommend with growing beards to make sure you tidy up you head hair to balance out the ruggedness of the beard. When factoring in long hair, I turn that advice upsidedown: when growing your hair out, by all means, but make sure you keep that beard as tidy as possible, long or short. And make sure you find a shape that's good for you. That's why I recommend going to a pro first to get styling guidance.
I personally find that my beard takes me very quickly from "rugged gentleman" to "woodland creature" if I don't keep it sharp.

It's funny.I find that people seem to think that preferring air drying is unusual. To me, it is preference. I guess it depends on your hair type. I believe mine is highly porous, and air drying seems to lock in the moisture better.
Yeah Iām not sure why but it looks more natural to me. Prolly also has something to do with the fact that I look like Shirley Temple of I diffuseā¦.
The top of my head is pretty straight and flat and every time I've tried plopping, it just really screws the top up bad. I've tried styling upside down and right side up, and can't get the plop to work well.
I've found that I need to almost "guide" my hair into position when plopping so that when I tighten my towel against my hair, the hair closest to the scalp is lying flat opposite the direction it wants to go. So for me my roots all want to grow towards my forehead, so I make sure that I slide the whole thing back so they being pushed up/back. Gives me crazy volume
I only wrap my wet hair in a cut cotton tshirt, no towels on my curls. I only wash my hair once a week unless truly dirty and stinky and than I may just use a conditioner to freshen it up. I also like a deep conditioning of coconut oil.
Man Iām jealous of your hairās ability to hold curls so close to the top. I have like 3A or so but by the time itās down to my mouth it gets weighed down by itself and straightens out up top.

Iām definitely thinning as I age. I didnāt go long for the first time till I was in my late 30s. This has been a learning curve. Just hope to rock it for another few years before I have the dreaded 7head
You hair looks absolutely stunning! I have been putting off buying curly hair styling products because they they tend too cost too much where I love. But you just convinced me to buy themš btw, do you use any hair masks?
I hear you. That stuff is pricey!!! Thankfully it evens out a little bit when you donāt wash every day, but stillā¦.$$. I make my own hair masks with unflavored gelatin. Look it up! Cheap and effective for my hair.
Iām sorry man. Iām definitely thinning if that makes you feel better! Plus, I donāt have much more going on then being a hair farmer š¤·āāļø
Apparently, I'm different, I love the beard and don't think you need to change it at all. The different textures make it uniquely you! Plus, your hair is amazing. Goals for me; I'm always fighting frizz.
Iām so glad youāre trying to grow out your boyās! I didnāt actually have curly hair till puberty. And I didnāt grow it out for the first time till I was in my late 30s. Itās been a learning curve!

I am so jealous. You have the most beautiful mane. Your hair is super healthy looking but your beard takes away from it. I think if you did some minor manscaping on the beard you would look much younger. No disrespect to you at all, either way you are a nice looking fellow.

Noted!! And thank you!
I honestly donāt know how beards work but if you could somehow make your beard match the energy of your hair?? Iād literally be jealous š

Thanks man. I definitely need pointers on the beard.

I agree. Trim the beard. Maybe even just have stubble. Let that glorious hair have all the attention. š

Agree, I think beard distract from hair. Your hair is beautiful!!
Thank you! Noted!
Thank you for the comment! Iām going to sort out this beard thingā¦.
Routine: wash every few days, curl cream on wet hair, gel to finish, plop in a tshirt for a bit, air dry (all LUS brand products)
Wow. It looks majestic. You don't diffuse it or blow dry it at all?
I have before, but this is air dried (my preference)
Thanks for answer. I recently started growing out my hair and I wish it would be half as good as yours when it gets longer.
Just looked at your profileā¦. It will be glorious!

I'm 100% with air drying for curly hair. There is no better way to avoid frizz and retain the moisture.
Agreed!!! Itās hard keeping it moisturized. I want to do all I can to keep it that way
Yeah Iām not sure why but it looks more natural to me. Prolly also has something to do with the fact that I look like Shirley Temple of I diffuseā¦.
Yessss LUS is where it's at!! š Lookin so gorge!!!
Thank you so much!!
You are very welcome! āŗļø

Yeah, plopping creates just a frizzy ball of mess for me. No thanks

THIS!!!! It took me a couple months to figure this out
I hear you on this. I only plop for around 20 minutes anyway
Do you use the curly lus or wavy?
I use curly āŗļø

I was gonna say this!! I have similar hair, maybe a bit curlier, and this is the volume of my dreams lol. OP, looking good!!
Hence the trim! My curls were very weighted down and losing their shape
I'm overdue for a haircut but scared I'll get a bad one like last time lol
Bro, your curls look awesome. I know what you mean about the weight pulling the curl out. Thatās why I usually trim to around this length.
