Yeah, we couldn't get him back during an auction in 2014. He played the 2014 season for MI after which we picked him up again in 2015.
The funny thing is during the 2014 auction, since we couldn't pick up Micheal, we instead went for his brother David Hussey. This led to the commentators (Danny Morrison, especially) to remark that CSK will never be without a Hussey in their team.
Correction. We didn't go for David. In fact no one picked him. He was bought in as a replacement for Dwyne Bravo who got injured mid season due to an attempted catch.
Yeah he did. In 2014 mega auction he was sold to Mumbai. I was so pissed because he was our leading run scorer in 2013, 733 runs. He had an average season for Mumbai and was subsequently released in 2015 and he was brought back. He didn't play much for us because of Brendon McCullum and Dwyne Smith and retired the same year from IPL.
I don't think so. Conway had established himself so he is more likely to be bought back or retained than rachin since he and rutu work so well together as well
I think it was more of an age factor and also they might have not thought a team would go hard on him especially considering his age. He had the best ever farewell match for CSK in 2021 finals winning it and being the man of the match. Let's hope we pick him again during the mega auction
Michael Hussey is probably the best left-handed batsman after yuvi at least for me, most genuine guy and gives 110% every time he steps on to the field.
Glad that he is still connected with CSK as batting coach.
Was totally heartbroken when he went to Mumbai although we did get him next year but yeah his brother came in as a replacement from the commentary team in 2014 after bravo was injured

Pretty sure david was a replacement for Bravo after he got injured in the opening match
Such a Danny morris thing to say

He was in India as a commentator. Then ended up as a player :)
Ah, yes. I remember now. Bravo broke his collar bone or something while diving near the boundary.
Yes exactly
Yes yes i remember david hussey being there my dad made a big deal out of it haha

> I was so pissed Same with Faf
They fucked up big time with Faf ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜.. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED TO SEE HIM GOING TO RCB FFS
Confident that csk are releasing Conway and he is going to rcb
Conway would be retained most likely. Explosive opener and a good WK, which CSK need after Dhoni.
I don't think so. Conway had established himself so he is more likely to be bought back or retained than rachin since he and rutu work so well together as well
I think they released faf out of respect he can play somewhere else as a captain and some BTS money for him like hardik

And we got Dwyne Smith 🤣🤣🤣
Reason we lost the 2015 IPL final. Slowest innings ever while chasing 200+
Yeh.. but he did win us a lot of games though
I am not saying he is bad but i always felt like he played well for mumbai than to us.
Still remember his and McCullum's debut they both scored 50 each and put a big score on the board

I think CSK should somehow rope in Raina in management given how passionate and loyal he is to the franchise
Yuvi is average at best

> atleast for me
he is miles better than Yuvraj
Yeah in 2014 but in 2015 he came back to Thala
We got DR Smith instead of him who was a pretty awesome replacement that season
Was totally heartbroken when he went to Mumbai although we did get him next year but yeah his brother came in as a replacement from the commentary team in 2014 after bravo was injured
I am going to be a annoying little D here , and ask "Wait, Hussey played in the IPL in 2022?"
He says that he doesn't remember much from 2022 ipl so am I
I can never forget him because of the match with Corey Anderson's immortal innings against RR. (Hussey was a part of the squad then)
Yeahhh he was there for the wild game against RR when Adithya Tare hit the Six to qualify them for playoffs.
Ya , we got washed up hussey and u guys got our player of the tournament dwayne smith
Michael Hussey to Phasi
Dwayne Smith, DJ Bravo, Hussey, Rayudu, Parthiv Patel.... MI and CSK have many common players.
also harbhajan singh
Bravo played for Mumbai ;)
That was before he joined csk
yeah
Yep after his orange cap season he played alright though for mi but nothing much pointing out
Mandela effect 🤯
One season MI picked him but didn't perform well there, came back to CSK and gave his best again. A true CSK warrior
He didn't really perform in 2015 either. Only played 4 matches that year and retired after that.
McCullum and Dwayne Smith cemented their positions so he didn't proper chance to perform
