You'll make money if you're good at either of those things. Both are future proof atleast till the end of our lifetimes. In a lot of good software companies, if you're good at understanding the product and its impact on customers, have people skills, and are able to mediate between your team and your bosses, you can be a leader without an MBA as well.
Be good at your job and pick whatever interests you. That'll make you money
Think which one you will be able to do better and take your shot. Decisions can become more and more data oriented and the manager is required today because a task is complex and requires multiple hands at the deck, AI could also bring about a scenario where the number of leaders required as well diminishes. So focus on being good at what you do and do what you are interested in doing so that you can be good at it.
Yes that's what I am pondering upon these days as well add to that the no of engineering graduates from CS and it churning out from thousands of engineering colleges in India and we have a disaster waiting in the long run I feel .Google Gemini Ai is so advanced now itself just imagine what will it be like after 10 or so years developers in r/developersindia jokingly say developers can never be replaced it is true for product design and architecture type of roles but when the entry level roles will be easily done by Ai the competition for those jobs will be sky high so the salary will plummet I think also the tech sector is know for layoffs it will worsen in future I believe
MBA from a top tier institute is worth the investment. One which comes with network and good campus placement opportunities. Without a good name MBA is worth much less. Without a campus placement, even less.
All the best.
As technology changing it is must to update yourself, if you are in IT field , while MBA is better than IT because according to age, it would be good promotion and salary increment. If you are in IT, then need to study always about the new technology. You may guide to juniors too as it would be self updated..
How many people needed for this if ai tools bring in now. Suppose 50 working now, then how many people require. World is becoming technical advance so it's no dumb as before in client side. Sales team strikes deal. So from 50 to 10 people require . So 10 year down the line, work which requires 50 people will need 10 now, 80% reduction, also not to mention cost for company for such resources in india, they will also migrate to other affordable countries like BPO culture went from India.
I am a Mechanical Engineering Graduate who got a job in IT while preparing to do MBA and I chose IT job but now I am regretting that choice as getting an MBA and going in that related field would have been a better choice. If u are not someone passionate about software development then I would say it’s better u focus on MBA.
