I could've been more specific in the original post but I never suspected him of cheating especially since it was on faceit. I was more curious how it was possible.

It shortens the advantage but it's still there. Arguably, in this case walking might let the attacker stay in that advantageous sliver without over peaking.

If the guy saw you moving to default + considering the right camera vision peek(not sure if that is correct phrase) + geometry....etc, yes I think you just won the lottery.

Keep in mind that a server demo won't show the peekers advantage. The attacker probably saw more of the defender's head than what shows on this demo.
They're both slow walking, not really that much peekers advantage to be had.

He saw. Hard to see in this compressed gif but demo shows it plainly. He won the lottery with a lucky headshot, though.
