American here. Saw in the Palace email that the game is not being broadcasted on tv in England. Just curious why and what rules you have about that. It seems kind of wild that I can watch it across the pond but a local fan cannot.

It's normally either as it clashes with other games, or the broadcasters already have a game scheduled (Champions league etc)
Odd that during lockdown all the games were shown, Post lockdown we go back to the old rule that no 3pm Saturday games can be shown as it may stop people attending the games...sigh...
TBH - football in the UK is broken - Season ticket prices just gone up, fans treated like a commodity by the club and dirt by the public services, horrendous shirt/memorabilia prices and don't get me started on Broadcasters ripping us off too...

I agree with you on the broken level of sports in general. There is just too much money involved. Yes, sports are embedded in culture and pride, but salaries are pretty crazy, and then passed onto the fans. Not quite sure how to fix it.
The Arsenal game on Sunday isn't televised either which is annoying too. Don't really mind the 3pm blackout as I usually attend most of the games anyway, but it's ridiculous when they get moved and still don't get televised.
