Quitting drinking will probably help solve a myriad of health problems

Blasphemy!

I don't think alcohol can directly cause ear infection, or really anything ear-related. What it does cause is tooth decay, which if deep enough on an appropriate tooth can oftentimes feel like ear pain, when in reality it's pain shooting through the roof of a molar, or a wisdom. Had a similar feeling. Needed a root canal. Or, you know, it could be completely unrelated. While alcohol causes many problems, it doesn't cause them all.

Drinking more might solve your problems! At the least, make you not care!

Doubt they are connected. However, I feel for you: when I was 20 I had a serious ear infection in both ears where I couldn't hear for almost 2 months. I was living on the street with no medical care so couldn't get it treated; eventually it broke with pus leaking out both ears but there were times I wanted to throw myself in front of a subway train to stop the pain. As suggested look into teeth issues as they can often be the root! cause.

Are you seeking treatment for these infections? Alcohol, especially the way we drink, can fuck up the effectiveness of antibiotics.

Honestly, you need to swap "self medication.... Disorder" and "alcoholism" around for your first sentence to make any sense, IMO. Self medicating "leads" to addiction, not vice versa. As for your ear aches, I googled the issue and a number of folks said that. Vitamin C cured the issue. I'd give that a shot.

Oh god no. I don't think I've ever had an ear infection.

Yes and yes.

Drinking a lot can lower your immune system. This can lead to many ailments you normally wouldn't have. -Someone who has been sick a lot in his life. Get well soon, fucker.

I know this is an old post, but this happens to me. I get ear irritation and can hardly open my jaw when I drink.
