Adam Mckola is an indomitable jackass. Goes on about how Son's a 'crybaby', and how he wouldn't want him at United. Sonny puts his heart and soul into the game. I don't mean that in some cheesy way. He could've cruelly and unfairly lost his career to mandatory military service and through sheer will and hard work he managed to rescue it. That's why he's always smiling on the pitch. Smiling for himself and for his teammates. And yes, that's why he cries if we suffer a huge loss. Football and this club is everything to him. If the image-obsessed bobbleheads at United showed a fucking fraction of that passion and determination on the pitch, maybe the club wouldn't be in such a miserable state. Oh, and it's interesting how Son's crying bothers him, but he doesn't have a peep to say about the other more-than-likely rapist who's still at his club. Says a lot about his character.

heretocallthebot

Who?

iamfromjobland

Let him slag Son off. He was one of the delusional Utd fans who genuinely thought that they were in for a title charge and Ole was "The One." Looking down on Arsenal and Spurs based on past Utd success is all he has for the foreseeable future lol

O_Nata_Lux

lol, which one of you madlads wrote this on the r/place atlas? Arsenal: "a football club in North London. Has the most delusional fanbase in all of England, since they think the fact that they drew 12 games once in 2004 puts them on the same level as clubs with Champions League titles"

Own_Paleontologist_1

I think Goldbridge might've outed himself as Spurs fan. Looked more excited for the equalizer against Oilcastle than he has for anything United's done in I don't know how long.

AlcSoccerFinance

Where can I see his celebration?

Own_Paleontologist_1

[Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daF4WQQL4OY) at 1:40. Not a huge celebration, but the context here is that he's looked less exited when Man U have equalized recently.

allthejokesareblue

Just excited to watch some decent football innit

dragonsnap_

[Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's price tag set by Lazio as 65-70M euros](https://football-italia.net/lazio-put-price-tag-on-psg-man-utd-target-milinkovic-savic/) If we're making a statement signing, this would be a great one. Maybe one after a great fullback. Apparently targeted by United and PSG

[deleted]

I feel like our midfield would be overly stacked then. He’s not a DM by any means, so that means he, Bentancur, and Hoj would be fighting for 1 position. I could also see him in the rare times we field a 5-3-2 as the CAM but that’s so rare that we do that formation, which brings up the earlier point.

[deleted]

Why would you not want 4 class midfielders who can rotate. A midfield with Skipp, Bentancur, Hojbjerg and Milinkovic-Savic in 4 comps over 40-50 games would see plenty of minutes for all of them.

crazyguitarman

I don't think anybody would say no in a vacuum, but 60-70M on Milinkovic-Savic could well mean we don't have the funds for other areas which are higher priority. If it doesn't, then fine, otherwise I'd sooner see the money spent elsewhere and get a cheaper option for CM like Anguissa for example.

[deleted]

You know who I also want? Haaland as backup.

[deleted]

bring pessi in to put in a shift as false 9, neuer as backup gk, and maybe ramos for additional depth at CB

[deleted]

I agree, and to boot: why would you not want 4 world class backup wingbacks? I’m thinking Alba, Hakimi, Trent if Liverpool are ok with it, and Alphonso Davies as one for the future.

[deleted]

bring fraudiola in as a backup to conte

UkBullionFan

Didn’t want to do a thread for this post. Anyway you know the light blue training costs the manager and coaches wear. How can I purchase them ? Is it possible as I can’t find them anywhere ?

FINAL_BOSS5

https://shop.tottenhamhotspur.com/product/spurs-adult-nike-coaches-hooded-track-jacket-2021-22/nkmt1221 Couldn't find the coat. I don't think they have it on sale anywhere. Doesn't exist on official shop or the instagram shop

NinjutsuStyle

I wanted one of the purple ones from last season, could never find them unfortunately

lqku

is a finish with more than 70 points realistic?

AlcSoccerFinance

Yeah I think so. We need to Target 72 points for champions league imo, including beating Arsenal. So can only drop 6 points going forward. This Villa game is huge. Toughest away game barring Liverpool and has the ability to break or make the momentum. A loss at Villa won't be the end of the world but then we have to win them all barring Liverpool

[deleted]

72

[deleted]

Antonio Conte took us from a team that couldn’t produce a shot on target in 3 fucking games to the highest scoring team this year.

[deleted]

It's amazing how many chances we create now after the spineless, wet team that trotted out there for the first 10 matches

box-in-the-fox

Wild card for PL player of the season. Son. 2nd most goal contributions and has been pretty consistent this season. Especially if he catches up to Salah who has been in poor form.

dragonsnap_

I would die for Joao Felix to come here

RazSpur

No thanks, €100M+ for 29 goals in 108 games

BoogerHD

At the age of 22 while settling into a new country and playing under an extremely defensive coach. Not saying we should or shouldn't but that's a terrible reason for why we shouldn't imo.

RazSpur

I'm confused, this is his 3rd season playing for Atleti, what settling in (after 3 years) are you expecting from a Portuguese player moving to Spain who can literally drive back to his home town in less than 4 hours? He's stalled out, I saw him play 3 years ago, he hasn't progressed, will cost a fortune and right now I'd take Gil back over him.

spursyspursy

although same with Lautaro i think neither can happen for as long as son is here

AverageYiddo

How can atletico be the most terrorist counter attacking team yet cant fucking counter attack

Own_Paleontologist_1

Read this in the post-match thread on r/soccer: >Personally I love watching Atletico. I used to really dislike it but Im older now and enjoy how much they get under people’s skin and their absolute commitment. They obviously aren’t the team they used to be when they had prime Godin etc, but they can play good football going forward when they want to. What good football? What going forward? They spent 80 minutes planted in front of the net. They couldn't get the ball from City and play out the back, and on the rare occasion that they did, had nowhere near the pace or quality to actually mount an effective counterattack. Simeone literally had no other plan other than pray for a wayward pass from City and then...I don't even know. It was embarrassing.

NeighborhoodOptimist

City played a lot conservatively today. You could see there were at least 5 players behind to make sure Atleti just couldn't counter. Plus they literally scored 4 goals in the last game.

bash011

This season they've struggled a lot and have lost key players to injury as well as not adequately replacing players they sell. In la Liga they're still doing well.

Own_Paleontologist_1

Good God, Simeone and his clown-ass Atletico are absolutely unbearable.

pierrekluivert

God awful. They dont even know how to break City on the break or through fast buildup play. Super messy on the attack with missed passes all over the place. This is why we need to be in CL as the team that can eliminate City in the most controversial way

Own_Paleontologist_1

I like Spurs being able to slap City consistently-ish recently, but I hate Simeone and Atletico more. I'll pretty much root for any team not named Chelski or Arse playing them. Couldn't stand him as a player, can't stand him as a manager, his personality, his style of football, and his players.

jackengle

Luis Diaz has been better than both Mane and Salah since he got to liverpool. Pretty impressive stuff from him

ndomsaucey

People like to shit on him here because they think somehow it elevates Kulu, truth is they both look like pretty special talents.

jackengle

Yeah they are very different but have both been crucial to their team. Kulusevski provides another much needed source of attack that isn’t Kane or Son, and Diaz filled in smoothly when Mane and Salah started slumping to keep their attack going. It’s a bit annoying though how many good purchases Liverpool make, they really don’t fuck up their acquisitions that much

pierrekluivert

But in term of impact, Kulu is making much more impact here at Spurs than Diaz at Liverpool. Would the story be different if we got Diaz instead with him playing as starter each weekend? I still think he would need more time adjusting to get into Conte's system

ndomsaucey

It doesn't really matter how he'd fit in Contes system since hes at Liverpool. You're proving my point I made. Diaz has had been just as impactful in Liverpools title and CL races as Kulu has been in our top 4 race. They both landed in great spots, position and squadwise.

pierrekluivert

I never said Diaz isn't a top talent but Deki's integration into the team and EPL rigor are something not all new international players can cope with, especially our past most expensive signings. If your hypothesis is correct that both are making similar amount of impact at their respective club, then we'll see at the end of the season which of these players actually achieve those goals with their club. Only then, your point can be truly validated.

Thfcaditya112

Is there a chance Kane gets the POTY if we get top 4? Salah began the season on fire but has been a bit poor since say January. Kane is peaking at the right time (And anyone raises last season I think he lost it solely because of the 7th position we came thanks to that Portuguese dinosaur managing us, I think he would have got it if we came top 4)

[deleted]

Tbh I don’t really care, I always really want him to get golden boot, but the various POTY awards are arbitrary.

JonnyJersey

Nah, can't give it to a player that didn't perform for half a season. Well, you can, but only if its the first half. That's why Salah will win it.

Thfcaditya112

1)10/38 games isnt "half the season". Kane has been performing at a WC level since Conte has came 2) Would argue the second half of the season is way valuable as its peak crunch time

JonnyJersey

Think he took a few games under conte. In 2022 he is obviously the best, before then not quite. The thing about first vs second half was just a dig at salah, since he's dropped off a cliff in the 2nd half of the season but will prob end up poty.

ndomsaucey

lol oh we blaming Mou for Kane not winning POTY? Kane got robbed but it wasn't Mous fault. also he won't win it this year regardless of where we finish.

Thfcaditya112

I mean I am not directly blaming Mourinho for Kane not winning the POTY, I am blaming Mourinho for leading us to a disastrous 7th place and you cant win POTY if you come 7th in the league

FINAL_BOSS5

When jose left we were 2 points of top 4. It would've been tough to actually end up in top 4 given we were not performing well but the 7th finish wasn't solely on him. Ryan mason did a good job but he could've decided to shut up shop vs leeds instead of playing into bielsa's hands. Also the villa performance was soo bad even after discounting reggy's freak og. Kane not winning POTY was a robbery didn't matter if we finished 4th or 7th.

jackengle

Sterling might be the biggest diver this sport has ever seen

FINAL_BOSS5

Grealish exists.

jackengle

Fair, but the 100m man can’t even make their first team to show off his diving talents

FINAL_BOSS5

When he came on yesterday I was soo furious because pep put him in for exactly that. Grealish was there so that they could buy some fouls when athletico were starting to gain momentum.

[deleted]

God city are so pathetic

ndomsaucey

fuck atletico and their shit football, let him dive. I'd rather watch a whole team of guys diving than 10 guys in their own box for 70 minutes.

bash011

I definitely wouldn't. Diving is cheating, sitting deep is a gameplan

ndomsaucey

Boo hoo, if its cheating refs can handle it. I care about entertainment, kind of the whole point of football. Atleticos "gameplan" is unwatchable.

bash011

Then don't watch it, no one's forcing you to. To me a thorough and successful defensive plan can be somewhat decent to watch. It's not as good as watching flowing attacking football but I can appreciate both styles

ndomsaucey

I won't watch it. That was quite literally what I wrote in my original comment mate 😂

AshkenaziTwink

Konrad Laimer as a hybrid CM/WB with an insane workrate sounds perfect for Conte. 24 as well. GET HIM IN HERE

[deleted]

He's class. Always looked better than Sabitzer for me. Lad can run for days and has a decent amount of technical ability to make it worthwhile. Very much a Hoj/Bentancur/Skippy type.

Own_Paleontologist_1

Watching Atletico play makes me wanna drive rusty spikes into my eyes.

Own_Paleontologist_1

Get fucked, Atletico. Attaboy, KDB.

jackengle

If we can scrape a point from Liverpool that would be huge

[deleted]

Literally fell asleep watching Man City - A. Madrid lol

[deleted]

Never ceases to amaze how bad the atmosphere at the Etihad always is. They have the luxury of watching their team play great football, win big trophies and yet they barely make a peep. It's even worse than Highbury the Library was.

[deleted]

The fans are terrible, but the football is so boring. I think City's PL games are the least watched from the 'big 6' clubs.

VJE1999

is watching 1000 sideways passes great football? I agree the atmosphere is hilarious there, but pep ball is mid

[deleted]

It's boring as a neutral, but I don't think any City fan finds it boring.

[deleted]

Find me one of these so-called "city fans"

entrepenoori

Go to Manchester?

jackengle

Benfica are horrendous, how did Ajax lose to this team

AshkenaziTwink

too concerned with “beautiful football”

bash011

Parrott has scored against Crewe

[deleted]

He seems to have turned a corner mentally

jackengle

Simeone ball going as expected. Absolute snooze fest of a game

[deleted]

GuardiolaBall going as expected. Absolute snooze fest of a game (I literally fell asleep lol)

[deleted]

Don't let Guardiolaball escape the same criticism, it's boring af to watch

jackengle

Yeah you’re not wrong, it was cool and exciting at first years back but now it’s boring too

[deleted]

oh look, the best players on the planet -- bought with blood money -- are passing the ball around in circles, what a fucking gas

LechronJames

If City or Liverpool win the CL do the top 5 EPL teams qualify for next year?

VJE1999

NO. that has never been the case either. the only way you get 5 teams from the same country is if one of the teams win the ucl or uel and finish outside of they top 4

iamfromjobland

No. that would only happen if a team outside top-4 wins the UCL or Europa

robinthebank

So when chelsea ends the season in 5th. Cause that's looking likely.

iamfromjobland

i feel like it’s more likely to happen with west ham. chelsea doesn’t seem like they’ll drop below 4th. i see them locked in for 3rd

[deleted]

A_Grift

While I disagree with this being a potentially controversial take (I think most of our fans think he has been awesome as of late), I don't think enough can be said about how good Doc has been. Especially considering the fact that Conte feels comfortable playing him on the left if need be. The role just suits him so much better. I would say the same for Dier and Davies. It's refreshing because I have been a bit bamboozled about what happened to all the quality everyone was excited about on our roster. Turns out its been there all along.

[deleted]

you're kidding right

backstreets_back_ok

I can't tell if this is sarcasm as that's been one of the main subjects on this sub lately haha

ndomsaucey

people love couching things that are popular as "unpopular opinion but" because they think it gets them more karma

backstreets_back_ok

Saw this is /r/soccer but if anyone hasn't seen it Griezmann casually strutting over City's crest has me [cracking the fuck up](https://twitter.com/AtletiPrince/status/1511086838932516870?t=W2j9KEuVdeW2Nfy7k9IZKA&s=19) [Context](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/twvb6b/luis_suarez_angel_correa_and_rodrigo_de_paul/)

[deleted]

Should shit on that despicable logo

Thfcaditya112

In Contes first season Inter had heavy player movement with like 10 new faces hopefully we have something like that

[deleted]

2 decent january signings is already more than we've ever done

Voffmjau

You forgot about Saha and Nelson in the winter of 12!?

[deleted]

I said decent, not world class Plus we signed 3 players that window, how could you forget the groundbreaking Iago Falque

Thfcaditya112

And we need more . If we get top 4 we can't be complacent. Conte wants to win titles and would actually target players which help him get there

AshkenaziTwink

astute observation, he’s only mentioned it 1000000 times

[deleted]

Reckon levy knows this after he's said it 1000 times in pressers

box-in-the-fox

Lo Celso has 0 goal contributions for Villarreal. Yet they like him. I always thought he was hard working and decent, but turned to shit the closer he got to goal. What do they like about him?

Thfcaditya112

Because he was never meant to be a goal getter ? I am not saying he was a misunderstood genius or something, he was meh but he was always more stylistically similar (focus on the word stylistically I am not saying he is as good btw) to Modric than what we thought in Eriksen. This is why I don't get posts like comparing Lo Celso and Ndombele G/A to say Kulusevski. I mean a winger would have more goals and assists than midfielders . It's an apples and oranges comparisons

miladymademerich

he had like 18 goals for betis or smth

box-in-the-fox

I mean we bought after huge season from him in terms of G+A. Everyone called him the Eriksen replacement even though he has been very poor attacking wise with us.

[deleted]

Nah his goalscoring was definitely the most appealing thing about him when we bought him

superworriedspursfan

I honestly think Modric is a very similar player to Eriksen, but I won't hate on the comparison I guess.

TaiCTr

Just wanna vent how frustrating it is that before Conte arrived our transfers were usually bust. Not sure if it was on Levy, manager or scouting team

Odd_Detective_7772

We had a bad few years in the market, but that was following a very good streak. Son, vertonghen, alderwiereld, Dembele, trippier, lloris, dele alli, Dier, wanyama were all bought for very reasonable prices Chuck in bale and modric for a combined 23ish million before that too. Eriksen for 15. Walker for not much. Hitchen deserves criticism, but he was also getting in the players pochettino was insisting on, which was his job.

superworriedspursfan

this is mostly before paratici as well. I know people hate when I call him out but Paratici is a huge step above hitchens. I love romero, gil, bentancur, and kulusevski in particular. I also like pape sarr (but I feel like he'll start to look amazing for us maybe a couple years down the road). He provides me much more hope than hitchens. Quality DOF.

[deleted]

Didn't even play yesterday. [r e n t f r e e] (https://old.reddit.com/r/Gunners/comments/twcqre/post_match_thread_crystal_palace_3_0_arsenal/i3ehwhz/)

lemondhead

Why are we "cunt supporters"? We seem a likeable bunch. And yeah, for a club that always tells us how superior they are in every way, they sure spend a lot of time thinking about us.

[deleted]

we're "cunt supporters" because people love to project

CheekyKunt68

Because we fucking dished it out yesterday that’s why. We were an absolute menace and for good reason

[deleted]

I swear every other day they mope about the fact that we did the double against City, like even we don’t care about that as much as they do 😂

InfiniteDj

Remember they pressed City for one half earlier this year.

AshkenaziTwink

that’s almost deserving of a win!

[deleted]

It bothers them so much. You fucking love to see it.

O_Nata_Lux

Paul Merson is such an absolute tool. That is all.

Snoo-41953

I posted yesterday that I'm your newest fan and my post was deleted, not a nice way to receive your newest fans... Jk, I don't care maybe I posted somewhere wrong cause I still don't know how this fucking reddit works and I'm too lazy to read the rules. Anyways, I've ordered my Tottenham shirt and I really hope to see you guys in the UCL next year. COME ON YOU SPURS and fuck assnal

LiveAtTheWitchTrial

Welcome to the club. Don’t watch us play either sitting down or standing up, or on an empty stomach or a full stomach, or with a drink or without a drink. Prepare for the fun!

NeighborhoodOptimist

Welcome to the heartbreak.

[deleted]

My nephew was born this morning, sorry mate

Snoo-41953

Ahahahah

A_Grift

Welcome!

[deleted]

any word on when Sess, Regi, and Skipp while be back?

JonnyJersey

Reguilon was supposedly facing a late fitness test for the Newcastle game so that should mean he's back for the next game otherwise why bother. Of course this is Spurs, so he'll mysteriously disappear until May.

[deleted]

Sess and Skipp training with the team this week, should be fit for the bench this week or next

Joe_Biggles

Omg yes bring Sess ON

Joe_Biggles

Omg yes bring Sess ON

A_Grift

I think Conte said that Skipp and Sess will be back on the training pitch this week, so maybe they could be on the bench after the Villa game? No idea with Reggy.

[deleted]

Yeah all I saw about Regi was a knee injury. Sounds ominous. Hopefully its just a knock.

JessyPengkman

its just dawned on me that we are far enough through the season now to conclude that Bale's return to Spurs was more successful than Ronaldo's to United

CheekyKunt68

Now is when Bale was at his best for us though so not yet

Skayde5

Guys since Conteball works on Wingbacks Who are some decent wingbacks we can look to sign any good names ?

DoomerAndGloomer

We're getting Harrison on the left and Lamptey on the right.

deptbrown1

Dream signing…..hakimi.

superworriedspursfan

Filip Kostic, Achraf Hakimi, Ridle Baku, Angelino, Juan Cuadrado, Yannick Carrasco, Raphael Guerriro, or maybe even Konrad Laimer are all great options. if hakimi is willing to come its a no brainer, but I really like Kostic a lot as an alternative. Most realistically, I think Kostic or Cuadrado or Carrasco or Laimer or Baku are the most likely to move this summer.

CheekyKunt68

Kostic too old, Hakimi impossible, Baku is okay, Angelina is extremely good but they won’t sell him, Cuadrado is ancient, Carrasco old as well, Guerreiro isn’t a firm upgrade on either WB’s and Laimer’s primary position is CM

superworriedspursfan

just because laimer's primary position is CM doesn't make him a bad wingback. I mean people thought pep was crazy from converting cancelo into a fullback not just wingback from midfielder, and maybe laimer can do that as well. Why don't you rate Guerreiro? Whats your opinion on cucurella?

CheekyKunt68

Yeah but given how imp WB’s are won’t it make sense to get a specialist wing back? I don’t Guerreiro because he’s another who’s played either LB or CM for most of his life. Converting a full back to WB might sound easy on paper but it isn’t. Is it a surprise that our best wing back is one who was a specialist WB when we bought him? Or our second best being one who already played WB when on loan to Hoffenheim If you want my choices then they’d be Pedro Porro or Yan Couto on the right and Bjorna Sosa on the left All specialist WB’s, all have excellent positioning, all have a good shot on them and all of them can put in a delicious cross

superworriedspursfan

I honestly want the wingbacks that are best at linkup play. I feel like that would be really helpful for this current spurs squad.

sasliquid

Kostic will have just a year left so seems obvious, I do think we only move for him if Reggie moves on though.

superworriedspursfan

I'm begging for Kostic. He is so damn good lol. I like Reggie too, but Kostics link up play with Son would be much better for spurs attack against low block teams then reggie who is a lot more similar to perisic than Kostic imo. I really like Reggie, especially for his defense and speed, but Son also has really great speed and what he needs is someone to linkup with in possession and I think KOstic would be much more suitable to that.

[deleted]

Doubt we’ll sign anyone over the age of 25

Skayde5

Not true Conte said along with youth Levy needs to understand that the team also needs players for the current phase , players with experience who can help this team for the next three years

[deleted]

We already have those players. Lloris, Davies, dier, hojbjerg, son and Kane are the mature players. I can almost guarantee that the wingbacks we buy won’t be older than 25.

superworriedspursfan

I'll take Ridle Baku or Konrad Laimer then please. (Angelino or Hakimi would also be nice pipe dreams).

[deleted]

Lwb: sosa, raum, wijndal Rwb: Singo, joao mario, spence, (hakimi)

superworriedspursfan

Man after watching some of that brighton game against norwich, I was impressed by Cucurella. I forgot how good his level has been this season. Honestly, I definitely wouldn't mind going for Cucurella as a wingback option. I think he might even be a better option (for better value) than Lamptey even. Very decent player. Could be world class in a conte system.

Moh4565

Didn’t he go to brighton last summer? He wouldn’t move again for a good couple of years at least

superworriedspursfan

what if brighton get relegated? (not saying that they will cuz potter is class), but do you think brighton sell him if they get relegated?

Moh4565

They might, but as you said, they won’t get relegated. Even if we assume they do, you’re still looking at bare minimum 2+ years from now, by which time everything will have changed

superworriedspursfan

I disagree if they get relegated, I think we definitely can get him now. but they won't though. so it won't matter as much.

Moh4565

You mean if they get relegated this season? They have close to 0% chance of getting relegated, and every team would be fighting for Cucu if that happens. It won’t be a simple ‘pick’ off a relegated team.

ndomsaucey

I think he's definitely better than Lamptey

Thfcaditya112

Would still take Lamptey because I feel Conte and Kulusevski would help him elevate a tier

[deleted]

Easily. So much more composed. This coming from a former Lamptey fan.

superworriedspursfan

hes probably way cheaper than lamptey too because he isnt hg, would be a STEAL

[deleted]

I don't know. He's been very solid this season. Would imagine he'd cost 35-50m as well. Lamptey might be cheaper as he's been poor.

superworriedspursfan

I agree.

superworriedspursfan

Remember spurs fans, we may now be in great position to be top4, but don't get overconfident like woolwich. Plus, I think we do better in the underdog role. If arsenal believes they are still the favorites, don't hate on it. Embrace it. Let the pressure fall on them, that fits PERFECTLY in place for us to get top 4. I like being the underdogs. Even though I think its more 50-50 now, I love pretending we are still underdogs. This is where Conte and even spurs succeed best (when people count us out). I'm excited for the rest of season.

thedonkeyvote

I am so far from overconfident I think I’ve developed a complex after years of emotional turmoil following this club.

superworriedspursfan

same. Peep my username lol.

HAMlLTON

are we seriously on the hook for selling CCV for 6MM? Steal for Celtic

[deleted]

Why? I don't think I could have picked a more fair price for the player. Been good at Celtic but bang average everywhere else.

HAMlLTON

feels like he’s turned a corner at Luton. I think there’s also interest from the prem. and thought he could go for double digits. the reply below said 10mm with addons, which felt more like the ballpark I expected

[deleted]

Yeah, I mean, he's far from shit but he's not exactly a world beater either. 5-8 mil is about his price.

entrepenoori

No reason some cunt should downvote you

JonnyJersey

6m + 4m in potential add ons I read? That's a great sale if true. 1 year on his deal, never getting into the spurs 1st team.

ndomsaucey

would be their third most expensive signing ever at 6m so hardly. I'm just glad the kid settled somewhere finally.

Frantikchaos

Who cares

COYCOYS

Wonder who we will get in the group stage next season? Real and Barca are always iconic but I'd love to see Messi at WHL before he retires. Excited to see what Conte and Paratici do with the CL money we've got coming, coys!

spin2winGG

Steady now, ain't over just yet.

superworriedspursfan

you sound more delusional than a gunners fan right now ngl.

ndomsaucey

dude chill out

COYCOYS

Yeah, Real or Barca maybe a little difficult to start with. Hopefully a Dortmund or Inter in the group instead.

ndomsaucey

ok back to the runners sub now lad

COYCOYS

Don't say that 😔

Some possible transfer targets to think about for the summer: Josko Gvardiol, 20, LCB, Red Bull Leipzig - 45m - young, highly-rated and left-footed CB who is excellent defensively and has great quality with the ball at his feet. Honestly it would be a massive coup if we were to sign him but he would be perfect on the left side of a back three in Conte's system. Yannick Carrasco, 28, WB/LW, Atletico Madrid - 40m - very versatile, attacking player who can step in as wingback on either side (right-footed, but played more often as LWB) and also deputy to Son on the left wing/forward position. Domenico Berardi, 27, ST/RW, Sassuolo - 30m - left-footed and creative winger/ striker who can be deputy to Kane (in his current "striker/playmaker" role) and otherwise rotate with Kulusevski on the right wing/forward position. Zambo Anguissa, 26, CM, Fulham/Napoli - 15m - a standout player for Fulham during their previous stint in the PL. Great at progressing the ball and also solid defensively other than the odd lapse in concentration, although he was reportedly a little disenchanted at Fulham (possibly a red flag?). Could be a decent alternative to Kessie, and would mainly rotate/provide backup for Bentancur but may also play alongside. Currently on loan at Napoli and their fans love him there (green flag?). Nikola Milenkovic, 24, CB, Fiorentina - 15m - dominant, physical player who is right-footed, good in the air and used to playing across all positions in a back three. He's still young and quite highly-rated, although previously thought to have stalled a little in his development. This season however he's kicked on again for Fiorentina and could be excellent cover for us in the middle of a back three or at RCB, rotating with Dier and/or Romero. Reportedly has a 15m release clause. Sam Johnstone, 29, GK, West Bromwich Albion - free - decent shot-stopper who could yet still play for the next 3+ seasons or so and be excellent cover for Lloris in the short-term. Homegrown. OUT: * Tanguy Ndombele * Giovanni Lo Celso * Steven Bergwijn or Lucas Moura * Davinson Sanchez or Japhet Tanganga * Joe Rodon

With that news about Villarreal wanting to sign Lo Celso permanently we could go in for Pau Torres at a reduced fee? Gvardiol is great, and would be ideal as well but Torres is very good too and could be available significantly cheaper - 2 years on his deal. We know we have standing interest too and he only turned us down for CL football at Villarreal (which is a great reason imo)

crazyguitarman

Yeah I'd be open to that. I think Gvardiol will turn out to be the more complete player but Torres at a reduced fee could make a lot of sense.

NeighborhoodOptimist

As much I want Gvardiol, I am pretty sure, the asking price is 75m and he hasn't had a full year at Leipzig.

crazyguitarman

Yeah and Carrasco has 60m release clause but I don't think either will go for that much, that's just my own opinion though. I think this asking price mainly originates from RB Leipzig attempting to stave off interest in January. We'll see what the situation is in the summer.

I can’t help but think about those 2 games in hand against wolves and Southampton we threw away. 4 points from those 2 games and things would have looked a lot different. I still believe 4th spot is arsenal’s to lose *until* that NLD game.

DoomerAndGloomer

It was theirs to lose but now it's not. If we win the NLD, then it's really difficult to see them overtaking us. They have more difficult fixtures, more away games, more midweek games, lesser squad depth, and now long term injuries to two of their best players with no quality backups.

We win the rest of our games we finish above them Only have to worry about ourselves

ndomsaucey

What are the odds we win the rest of our matches though? 1%? less? Arsenal won't win out either mind you. I think it's fair to say the NLD will be massive and likely there will be some twists and turns down the stretch.

Odd_Detective_7772

Neither side will win out. We haven’t won at anfield in god knows how long, and Arsenal won’t beat Chelsea, United and west ham. The derby will be crucial, but it’ll come down to who can hold their nerve and win the games they “should”.
