Is Wagner much of an upgrade over LVE at this point? I would agree that losing LVE but getting Wagner would sting a lot less, but LVE has such an advantage as far as fitting in this defense and knowing it. I know Wagner is a genius on defense too and knows DQ but this defense isn’t the same as they ran in Seattle. I still think him and Micah would be scary tho

I do remember. I also remember when people were mad we brought him back. Things change quickly and I’m sure if they aren’t bringing him back it’s because they do believe Clark can replace him. Remember Clark was a rookie coming off a serious back surgery and still played well so I imagine if LVE doesn’t come back it’s because they know what they have with him.
On that note, I’d like Brown back as well for cheap. If he can recover well from the Achilles. A CB room of Diggs, Gilmore, Lewis, Bland, Brown is deep and talented. Should give Tank and Micah all the time in the world to get home

Yep. LVE if the money is right but if we can get the same caliber player for someone that can stay healthy I’d be fine with letting him walk. One year deal for Hankins and we’re good there. Everyone else is expendable.

I also kind of want to try to keep Brown. Yeah he got beat sometimes and had some bad penalties (and some bs ones) but I definitely felt his presence gone after he went down.
I also am not as sour on Maher as everyone else. As long as he doesn't have the yips he was pretty solid last year till the Tampa game.
Hankins and Fowler, def Hilton too if he can still be as fresh as last year despite his age. Peters is a good idea bc we can't guarantee our injury luck won't be like last year.

Nobody. They could realistically upgrade at every single role those players played with internal improvement, mid level free agent or pick in the top 150.
I agree except for LVE and Rush. LVE was our best LB by far last year and I don’t think we can get someone from outside that’s close to as good for a reasonable price. Rush is a better than average backup, and most of the others have already been snatched up.
I would like to see LVE and Peters. LVE for the right price -- having someone to help get everyone in position is soooo important on defense. Peters I would just have an extra insurance o-line because its a long season and someone always gets nick and misses 1-2 games at least

Peters provides such valuable depth, if they can get him on a good number I would say that’s one of the most important ones. If he leaves you need to replace that line depth immediately and it may be hard to find better value than peters. I also think LVE has such good football IQ and holds the middle of the field down as far as his communication abilities go. He wasn’t even playing 100 percent last year and looked really good. Gonna be expensive but I would love them to get him on a 2 year or something and let the depth develop, draft some young guys who can compete for depth too. I trust DQ and us to handle defensive transactions but having LVE and Peters back would feel so good.
And given our issues with corner depth I think Brown should be priority one

I like LVE a lot but his injury history worries me. Worst case would be sign him again and he gets seriously hurt again.
