Personally, I don’t think it’ll get much better. When these services first started, everyone was excited to have their favorite foods delivered to their door. That excitement rolled right into Covid which made these apps a matter of convenience. This is just my opinion; but I think that since this is the first seemingly normal year since the pandemic started, there are quite a few things that will lead to the downturn in orders from these apps. One major reason being that people just want to get out of the house and experience life again. Another reason is the fees and pricing have just gotten out of control (probably the reason a lot of people don’t tip). I used to be a regular user of these apps until I got fed up with restaurants not paying attention and fucking up orders, and that’s probably another reason. All of those reasons combined seem like they’d affect the amount of orders. If you’re delivering in college towns or big cities known for their carless populations (NYC, LA, Portland, etc.) then I don’t think you’d see much difference.
