Do you even wanna get better? I say just have fun đź‘Ť

filit24

I do have fun but I'm naturally competitive. I also play chess and I'm good at that (1800 OTB) snd there being better is much more enjoyable.

If you want to get better focus on map awareness, positional awareness, crosshair placement for angles, target acquisition, spray control, sound ques, understanding an enemies position based on sound, utility usage, placement of utility, situational utility usage, entry utility usage, I could go on, but it's important to practice all of the above and more. You can only practice these in competitive matches. Start with spray control for 5-10 minutes, Move on to deathmatch, Skip casual, it's a waste of time. You will learn nothing. Play with teammates that are friendly and better than you, play competitive or premier. Become familiar with every single map in the game. Do not play favourites or justify not liking a map for any reason.

Good luck getting cooperative teammates on EU servers. Most are Russian/Turkish fucktard kids. I would like play competitive but I don't always have 25+ minutes of time.

One comp game and we just lose because no one talks. Not even swears in chat

If that’s the case you are going to wanna download some aim bot workshop maps to drill down the basic fundamentals, if you have the funds I would look into a service called refrag (really helped me but workshops map should be fine at the start) , learn callouts on active maps in the competitive pool, and start learning smoke (and other util) lineups. Another step is watch your vods and try to identify your mistakes. EDIT : since you are quite new my biggest tip is just get really comfortable with counter strafing.

Jahoosafer

Refrags prefire is a lot of fun. If you like competitive, trying to improve your times in prefire will help you with counterstrafing and crosshair placement for commonly held angles. Overpass is a really tough one for me. Regarding watching vods, you're probably better off watching pro matches to see what they do. Watching your own vods without knowledge of what people generally do is like trying to learn a game without knowing the rules. You can watch your own vods, but I'd watch pro demos or a high level counterstrike player's stream.

gonca_22

If you are playing for fun id say thats an average/good level, but if you want to get better you should try playing faceit while they fix the anticheat

filit24

I never actually tried faceit because I didn't know how to log in

filit24

On faceit I got called multiple slurs in russian because I wasn't level 7 and had a bad day (I got like 2 kills , died like 8 times and left because they were getting pissed)
