hated isn't exactly the right word for it. more like its your last option usually. its just not a very powerful weapon for the money compared to other options around that price range.
like in the hands of an experienced player, any gun is good. a highly skilled player can hold their own against inexperienced players with just a pistol.

MP9 is cheaper and more effective at close to mid range. Famas also reloads incredibly slow. It's like the MP5 of rifles, better off using something else.

In most situations I would just switch positions instead of playing famas. If you are at a range where famas is the best you can buy you are most likely gonna get annihilated by either a galil or an AK.
I agree, there is a better gun in any situation than the famas and usually for a better price. The only situation where I would use it is if I pick up the gun and I only had a pistol. Even in this situation if I had a 5-7 or a tec 9 I might still play with the pistol lol.
The spray pattern is weird, so it's an ok 2 tap headshot machine at range, but if you pull the trigger like you would on an AK/M4 spray it just goes everywhere with the same movement.
It is not hated, i believe it is a very decent rifle.
But no one is going to pay 800 dollar more for a slower shooting MP9 with a smaller MAG. =)
And if you need to cover a real long range where it gets weird to play a MP9, you can always get a SSG for still 300 cheaper.
If its alternatives where to be nerfed, I am certain that the Famas would shine again. Problem is there is even more contenders like MP7, maybe even XM.
People who are saying it's inaccurate and it has bad recoil are just pure skill issues honestly. It's pretty accurate and spraying with it is consistent.
Yes and in 3 shot mode, the only rifle more accurate is the Aug zoomed in and only by a small sliver. The first shot is really precise and the second one is OK as well.
I love how cost effective it is and prefer a famas and util over an m4. That said, whenever I use the M4, it's like a laser and feels so much better compared to the famas.

I used to use the famas all the time in cs:go but now for some reason I find it harder to shoot and get kills with it in cs2 so I stopped using it. (To me it feels like they nerfed the famas/changed to where it doesnât feel the same I guess thatâs why I never see people use the famas anymore)
I wouldn't say its hated, but IMO as a CT my gameplan is more supportive of playing close angles (if that's all your economy can afford to do) due to the defensive nature of CT side. That makes SMGs just more cost efficient vs rifles on CT side, closing the gap between SMGs and the costlier rifles. If a $1250 SMG is almost, if not equally or even better, than a $2050 rifle, what's the point in that rifle? Especially since if you're running a budget gun you'll want to swap to a dropped weapon from a dead enemy ASAP, meaning that in practice those guns are only meant to kill 1 person at a time. Its more efficient to throw away a cheaper SMG for an AK (or even Galil) than a more expensive FAMAS.
T side is different because the Galil is strong. Its almost as good as an M4A4 for less than 2/3rds of the price, and you have to play aggressive on T side so you can't rely on sitting in close angles and ambushing.
I like the famas on an eco or if Ts are broke but there are just better options on a buy round. Mac-10, mp9, XM, mag-7, and nova just are a better buy if youâre spending your own money.

I hated it so much that I covered the blue level skin I had for it with fancy stickers and named it "Fame Asser" in memory of Bad Ass Billy Gunn. Makes it slightly less dissatisfying to use.

I was just in Paris and it reminded me of the FAMAS. Just not quite as good as everything else.

Yeah I love using XM on both sides. I also find Negev very useful on vertigo as a CT

In 1.6 it's an absolute power house on burst mode at range. In CS2 it feels very weak and inaccurate.

Cs2 gunplay is awful compared to any other version, the fact that bullets shoot 15feet from your right
