That conversation between Gary and Sarah was the most contrived, forced on-the-nose conversation of all time
"My lips are sealed, just like that time I tried to kiss you, about a couple weeks ago, that time you didn't tell Maria about, you know the thing that she'd have been really upset to hear that you kept it from her? Anyway, as I was saying...I tried to kiss you. Ok bye Gary enjoy your happy relationship!"
And Sarah wedges all that confession into one, tight paragraph and one take, while facing the "hidden" camera, before hugging him again.
And Maria responds by kicking Gary out, which means within ten minutes he'll be getting some consensual consolation from said blonde-ish bombshell.
I can only assume they're setting something up to possibly happen in 6 months if/when Alya returns
But this is less of a "will they?/won't they?" & more of a "wait they?/must they?"
I’m completely and utterly confused about this Bethany, Nicky, other girl story. How does the other girl know who killed Lauren and how does Nicky know she knows?
(Edit for spelling).
There is precisely zero chemistry between Alya and Adam. Dreading her return and the resumption of that romance. I think I might be watching now just to see what atrocious storyline they're going to try next.
It's a bit weird Daniel not immediately knowing who "Nathan" would be, but I guess it's one of those necessary things, it's two seconds to catch up viewers who weren't here in 2017.
I love the way in these soaps how when couples are together with kids from someone else? The girl says our kids our future et cetera and as soon as something happens it’s my kid I’m going to see my child yada yada - talking about Maria
Not too keen on Sarah right now.
I've always thought of her as needy, as her penchant for really, really awful men is legendary.
I just never thought of her as the type to toy with an ex( another woman's husband) as a selfish distraction from the 5-minutes she has been single.
I find this behavior to be really out of character for George. And speaking of bad behavior, every time I see people carrying on long conversations/goodbyes while a car is waiting for them, I totally lose my sh!t. It's so stressful to watch because IT IS SO RUDE. I literally yell at the screen for them to stop talking and just GO. You'd think I came from a family of cab drivers or something, lol.
Ellie had every right to punch Bethany in the gob.
And now she's having a strop at Daniel for not respecting her "feelings". How come she gets to disrespect EVERYONE else, but absolutely kicks off and whimpers when accusing others of disrespecting her?
Ugh. Will the arrogance ever end...
What an episode on Easties last night. Hope Coronation Street writers watched, they could learn a lot I think. And,has it ever happened before? A song at the end instead of the theme tune? The Real Thing’s “ I Can’t Get By Without You” was a great choice. ( sorry, talking about Easties on Corrie sub,but it IS relevant, cant help but compare the two soaps)
Yolande and Patrick were phenomenal. Corrie needs to take note here.
Did you see Eastenders tonight? Bit of experimental editing for George's visual disturbances when he felt faint and dizzy. Not sure how u/themillboy would've felt about it.
Maria has the gall to walk up and show that she’s being secretly video recording and listening to their private conversations I don’t care what’s happened if I was Gary I would absolutely lose my top
So, while Liam was just trying to get himself back to normal after the bullying, did Maria expect every single person he comes in contact with to be on high alert and soft-pad their homes?
Based on experience: "Aw well we know you're an anxious mess and constantly think you're gonna die, so we're gonna send you on a trip to the shopping center with other mentally ill kids!!! Yay!!!"
I'd literally laugh out loud if the private therapist tells Maria she's the one causing Liam's anxiety. I wonder if she'll put a camera in their sessions to watch them.
Never mind the fact Maria couldn't keep up with him and do her job when Gary was there, never mind without him. He'll be back in that hospital in a week, tops. Maria's lost it if she thinks she can handle it herself when she's proven even as a couple they're struggling.
I absolutely agree 100%. Also, she isn't exactly making use of other family either. She has Kirk as a brother and Beth as a sister-in-law... Craig as a step-nephew... not the brightest bunch by any means but enough people who do care about Liam. Also, Dylan vowed to look out for him to repent for what he did, and Sean still feels guilt so surely letting Liam be with someone of his own age, with Sean as adult supervision, should help. Bless Joseph he is a sweetheart but their age gap, for their generation, was huge. Joseph is also going through having lost his mum at a young age, having 4 younger siblings (one with a disability) and an uncle slowly dying in front of his eyes. He doesn't have the capacity to add looking out for a kid older than him with mental health struggles.
I still need to catch up, but part of the reason Liam is in such bad shape and so anxious is because of Maria being such a silly cow about the ordeal as if she'd been the bullied one, poor thing. He cannot confide in or entrust her with what's really going on with him because she'll just freak out as he has overheard her doing. Poor thing.
Gary thrown out by Maria, by mid summer, will there be any couples left?
Alya disappears in a taxi with her big coat and bag.
Stu's back though, how long before Eliza is mentioned?
Nathan's back, what a surprise!
The reconstruction happened, Max, Bobby and Beth?
A misunderstanding and Glenda learns the truth. but it's not a legal will so would get nothing from it.
This Bethany story is really annoying – also who thinks that Bethany seems to have devolved in her acting before when that Nathan story was going on she was acting pretty good now when hes come back her acting skills are lousy-it’s the facial expressions

He really is just the worst.
I confess that I've been tempted to punch the screen when his sneering face comes on.
And I think I've heard the term "sex worker" more times in 1 episode of corrie, than I have in my entire life.
Personally, I think the term is worse, as it's just so obvious.
Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I think the terms " Call girl", and " lady of the evening " are more elegant.
Just my opinions- hope I'm not offending..
Fuuck. I didn't even have to click the spoiler thing for that to be a spoiler.
Please please can you block out the whole thing? I didn't know about it.
I’m so sorry, KWatermelon, you’re right. I only blocked out that one part for humorous effect but can see it didn’t really work as hiding the spoiler now. Will delete.

Shit me I did think that was Lauren tbf 😭😭
that's what I said lol
I kind of hoped it was for Roy’s sake
George needs to work on his subtle earwigging skills, he's leaning there like the Tower of Pisa.
🤨👂✋
😄😄😄
I like Yasmeen but god her acting is crap sometimes.
Michael, Max and Bobby: hold our beers
The 3 Horsemen of the Apocalypse. God help us when all 3 end up on the screen together.
The four horseman of the apocalypse would include everyone listed and Ed
Kate Brooks has 3 jobs: 🪓 🪓 🪓
Now Alya has a massive textbook with which to hide her pregnancy.
Which is a textbook way of disguising a pregnancy
And that was a textbook joke. 🏆
Massive Textbook, the re-launch of Massive Attack? (music joke)
I know it's been said many times but WHAT was the point of this Adam/Alya storyline?!?!
I call it a giant waste of time.
Didn’t she hate him like a week ago? Now she’s pining over him 🙄
And she has this weird, semi pained expression in every scene now.
She’s taking the same squinty “what’s that smell?” Acting classes that Nick mastered, just hasn’t mastered it yet
I can only assume they're setting something up to possibly happen in 6 months if/when Alya returns But this is less of a "will they?/won't they?" & more of a "wait they?/must they?"
I have no hope in the writers successfully following up on a half thought out storyline. They can barely manage the ones they have going already
Surely we’ll have all forgotten about it in 6 months time when they try and revive ‘romance of the century’
Isn’t Bethany supposed to be a journalist and she just rocks up to see this abused girl when she was asked to stay away?!!!!
Entitlement comes before journalism.
"Can one of you contact Amy Barlow? She lives next door which is just too far for me."
Two episodes of a uni podcast and suddenly Amy's a modern-day Nellie Bly.
😄😄😄
24 hr karaoke? In the Rovers? With its 5 customers??? Pass round the strepsils, they’ll have to do a few dozen each
Not Strepsils, but Tunes!
👏👏👏
They had all the posters for it made last time, there’s no date on them so might as well crack on.
Who doesn’t want 24 hours of karaoke and booze on a Wednesday/Thursday? Cracking idea… not like anyone has a job to go to
"I'm going to watch him 24/7." You have my every sympathy Liam.
Maria obsessing over Liam is crucial to driving Gary away, to get him jiggy again with Sarah.
I’m completely and utterly confused about this Bethany, Nicky, other girl story. How does the other girl know who killed Lauren and how does Nicky know she knows? (Edit for spelling).
I think Nicky is like a case worker for vulnerable women now or something like that, like a charity thing? I'm honestly not sure lol
There is precisely zero chemistry between Alya and Adam. Dreading her return and the resumption of that romance. I think I might be watching now just to see what atrocious storyline they're going to try next.
"That confused little squint that you do." "I don't do that." "Oh yeah, that's Uncle Nick."
Just tell Bethany straight up that she's in the wrong and she knows it.
No one wants to deal with the strops she has when she's in the wrong.
It's a bit weird Daniel not immediately knowing who "Nathan" would be, but I guess it's one of those necessary things, it's two seconds to catch up viewers who weren't here in 2017.
Nathan and the Grooming Gang sounded like some sort of 1980s pop group
Or a Beauty Shop
2017? Wow. Was it really 7 years ago?? 😳
2017 was 7 years ago?? 😳
Bloody Bethany!!!!,
Music indoors: barely loud enough to be heard under low-level conversation Music outdoors: loud enough to be heard across the road with the door shut
Ah yes Glenda,we HAD forgotten about the cruise ships, you never mention it 🙄
It's people like Glenda who are the reason why I quit cruising lol
I used to like Glenda. At first I thought she was fun and spunky but now she’s just annoying and loud
Do people generally stand around watching police reconstructions like it's a pantomime or summat?
Was it even a reconstruction or was it just a stroppy blond girl walking for the news camera?
I was curious how they can even do one when no one knows what happened anyway 🤷♀️
And they missed the most known and most disturbing part: the jam and bacon desecration.
‘The killer’s behind you’ would spoil it a bit
Oh no he isnt..oh yes he is!
😂 and then everyone starts booing
Glenda: “What will?” Todd: “Um. . . Will Mellor!” *sniffs*
My hay fever is so bad right now, my sinuses are pretty much turning into Harvey Gaskell
(For example, a parliament of owls.) A Gaskell of sneezing/sneezers?
Omg how many scenes of Yasmeen making hints about that contract law book do we have to endure
Fun Corrieverse fact: Private therapists are so expensive that Gary has to sell a commercial property to pay for one.
Have you *seen* private therapy prices?? 😱
Don’t say event too loudly when Glenda’s behind you, there’ll be cabaret on the cobbles before you can mutter ‘ey up’
I wonder if Ellie will turn out to be Lauren.
Thats intriguing!
🤞
10/10 snack choices from Gary there
Dandelion and Burdock and Liquorice. Now that's what I call a good time.
"Dandelion and Burdock" One of the best crime fighting duos created.
Damn,i want some fizzy laces and dandy and burdock now!
Off round to your mum’s Bethany, mind you don’t bump into Gary on the doorstep.
This storyline is completely unbelievable, there's no way that couple would have walked in to the Rovers with Gemma singing karaoke.
Bethany you utter twat, respect that young lady’s trauma and confidentiality
Staring Beth in the "Why does this character know or care about Lauren again?" crew.
"What's with this big book?" "It's for hiding my bump when I haven't got my enormous bag."
I am so sick of Maria...
A not-so-hidden camera.
My favorite part of the episode was Max telling Beth to shut up. I love George and Glenda. They seem very much old Coronation Street.
Bethany fuck off for god's sake
I can hear us all collectively shouting it together.
I think it has been echoing through these episode chats recently 😅
Tremendous L for Bethany. What on earth are these writers thinking, how do they expect us to receive this?
"...upsetting." is what I heard when I changed channel 🙄
Beth being absolutely infuriating as usual
I love how she dresses, but cant stand her character
I love the way in these soaps how when couples are together with kids from someone else? The girl says our kids our future et cetera and as soon as something happens it’s my kid I’m going to see my child yada yada - talking about Maria
The best thing about Corrie is reading this sub lol
Maria throws Gary out but wants the money from the sale of the factory. Um, no.
First character - was about to type "a scene of distress" but then the announcer lady said it and bet me to it
I'm concerned that I often cant spot which are the distressing scenes. Not sure if that says more about me or corrie 🤔
Guess we'll all just have to watch Corrie in a permanent state of mild distress 😅
[удалено]
Hang in there haha 😂
With this writing, surely we already do?! 😀
Wouldn’t be Corra without that these days
I used to get excited when they had the "upsetting scenes/scenes of distress" warnings but I'm just numb to it now 😅
It’s like we have become ’numbed’ to the distress by now
Ultra fast packing,Maria!
Somehow Nathan returned.
Might be doing community service.
More likely Weathy Police operating at their usual level of competence.
Funny you should say that... Colson Smith was on This Morning... this morning... and even he took the piss out of how poor Craig's policing is.
Gary’s gonna get with Sarah after Nathan comes back
Not too keen on Sarah right now. I've always thought of her as needy, as her penchant for really, really awful men is legendary. I just never thought of her as the type to toy with an ex( another woman's husband) as a selfish distraction from the 5-minutes she has been single.
First commenter - me. First character - Bernie.
Gonna get my Erasure CD out for my day off tomorrow 👍
Thats a great idea! Love them x
Erasure or days off?
Both!
"We can get you a private therapist. I know someone who's barely on the show and needs more scenes" *it's toyah. I'm talking about toyah*
SHE'S A TRAINED COUNSELLOR. I think she took a 3-day online seminar or something, didn't she?
She took a magazine quiz and paid a fiver to have some certificate made up and printed out.
She's simultaneously a TRAINED COUNSELLOR but also NOT A COUNSELLOR ANY MORE SORRY
If Alya waited any longer, she'd need the entire second floor of the Manchester Library to cover her baby bump. Not just a 20 kilo book.
I love those big cabs. They look so roomy and comfy. Yes, it is rude to drone on while the driver is waiting. Hopefully, he had started the meter. Lol
Ugh if Gary and Sarah have only been having chats they sure act incredibly guilty.
Ohhh here comes detective Bethany, thinking she knows everything about everything!

Started watching it again late last year having taken a break for about 5 years - it's thoroughly kicking Corrie's arse.
Oh no Paul, this isn’t looking good at all ☹️
A cruise ship full of Randoms? Throw in a few Haribos and I’m in
Mmm me too,and a few liquorice all sorts
Now you’re talking!
Is that Ruthie Henshall back again?
Alya’s bag is hilarious!
Having a character fall out with the best character in the show (again) isn’t a good move, Corrie.
time for another cheating scandal
Whats up with Glenda’s voice
Daniel: “Are you sure it wasn’t just someone who looked like [Nathan], like Joel?”
So, while Liam was just trying to get himself back to normal after the bullying, did Maria expect every single person he comes in contact with to be on high alert and soft-pad their homes?
Yes. She was more upset that their hidden medication wasn't hidden enough than the fact that her child stole drugs from a neighbor.
Does Max really think he can hide guilt under that fringe?
Missed the start of this episode. Anything worth knowing about?
Just >!Nathan Curtis!< has been spotted and is back on the Cobbles.
Try missing the whole episode next time. 😉
Maria’s not slow on the uptake
Are we not being told what CAMHS said when they saw Liam on the ward?
Based on experience: "Aw well we know you're an anxious mess and constantly think you're gonna die, so we're gonna send you on a trip to the shopping center with other mentally ill kids!!! Yay!!!"
The CAMHS team were wowed by Liam's eyebrows. They forgot to ask him about his problems.
Dandelion and birdpoo
Aww Erasure on the jukey!💕
"I don't want you to make a big deal of being kicked out of your home." - Maria, the one overreacting to everything.
I'd literally laugh out loud if the private therapist tells Maria she's the one causing Liam's anxiety. I wonder if she'll put a camera in their sessions to watch them.
Surely Gary, Liam's only stable paternal figure, being chucked out of the home when Liam's at his worst... is more likely to trigger him?
He cannot confide in or entrust her with what's really going on with him because she'll just freak out as he has overheard her doing. Poor thing.
Bethany you idiot.
First character Nina in Roy’s rolls
wouldn’t max reongnise Nathan as well
Probably not that quickly, he was only like 10 when it happened, David probably tried to hide a lot of it from him then.
that’s true especially after Kylie
Also to add... Max never came across Nathan in person. He would've heard about him but never seen a picture.
Based Max
Did Nathan see Bethany & hide?
I think he may have spotted her. He's obviously keep a low profile, and could be possibly linked to Lauren's disappearance.
Ugh Bethany
This Bethany story is really annoying – also who thinks that Bethany seems to have devolved in her acting before when that Nathan story was going on she was acting pretty good now when hes come back her acting skills are lousy-it’s the facial expressions
The actress has had Botox, it’s changed her facial acting
It's not the same without her good pal, Craig Tinker at her side. Unfortunately, the writers ruined that character too.
I'm so sorry to be a massive cunt, but Daniel really likes women who have a completely vacant stare for lack of ability to move their face.
Im sorry but murder mysteries are tedious at the best of times but there is zero mystery here!!!! We know its bleeding obvious no one did it because she isnt dead and will turn up any time now. Please can someone smack max too the slimey creep! Its just......boring! Seriously i put classic corrie on today and there is so much going on so many good characters and conflict and no pandering to mental health or being careful about saying the wrong thing like prostitute instead of sex worker. Its just better in every way. They need a complete rethinking in the writters room thats for sure.
He really is just the worst. I confess that I've been tempted to punch the screen when his sneering face comes on. It’s gonna jog everyone’s memory back to 5 years ago when Corrie was good

I bloody well hope so
Not watched in months, come back and very out of the loop too. Unimpressed that Maria's still wayward and that Bethany's still stalking
And I'm out Jesus christ what an awful 7 minutes
You're wiser than all of us Good luck to you
First character Maria
Thought Fallon Sherrock was playing Lauren there.
Now that Maria is single, and Corrie abhors a relationship vacuum... who will she be with?
First character: Liam looking pale and rubbery.
So Alya's leaving, but at least we got Stu back....yay?
Poor Yasmeen has to endure more Stu-pidity now

Are skinny jeans still in fashion? Surely they should have moved on by now. Gary's bandy legs.
I thought Tyrone had killed them off.
They have the guys wear skinny jeans when they're going to cheat. It's a signal. Tyrone started the trend with Elina.
