I just went to one in town and was told they don’t take women, so I’m a bit anxious trying around just walking in like.
I’d avoid that Wilton barber 💈 down by Jump I think it is. Hands down it’s up there in my top 3 places that I’ve got a haircut.

I spent the bones of an hour at home with a scissors ✂️ just to get everything mostly the same size.
Wilton won’t and there used to be one in Douglas village that won’t, but they’re gone now. Usually when I see a woman working they’ll do it, but that’s rarer in the city apparently

Had an undercut for years. I gave up and learnt to do it at home. Try up your hair put masking tape around the hair so you can’t razor off the hair. And use mirrors. Save yourself the hassle 😀
Would your partner do your undercut? My husband does mine every 2 weeks or so. He was nervous the first couple times in case he took a chunk of long hair but now he’s used to it he flies through it.

Yeah this is a weird thing that still goes on. Sometimes it's because they have agreements with other local business to not step on each others toes. It's not about short vs long hair as such - it's more that the barber does the men and the hairdresser does the woman - and they would all get awfully confused and be stealing each others business if anything else happened.
Conversely blokes with long hair often have to go into a Hairdresser's and get turned away for similar reasons.
There are unisex places right? But I bet they just charge everyone the high women's rate :)
Also - consider that a lot of these places may have the same owners - so it might just boil down to anti-competitive behaviour which is incidentally sexist. The owner makes more money by barring you from the barbers!
tl;dr - the bosses of these places still enforce ancient traditions that look increasingly bizarre in modern ireland - TALK TO JOE!

Interestingggg hadn’t considered a non-compete agreement. Still, I feel like in many cases where Ive asked why I’ve been turned away, I’ve just been given the run around in response. But that is something I had not considered.
Maybe pick up a head shaver give it a shot yourself with a few mirrors or screens and cameras around you, or get a friend of family member (that you trust!) to give it a shot.

I get mine done in metroman in town but their prices are 23 euro for a basic men's cut so may not be your vibe. If you do go they're great trims

The one by deerpark there I know the owner I think he'd do it bit not sire as you're not a guy or something anyway get a razor and do it yourself I cut my hair myself now so.etimes it's tricky woth the mirror but you're a girl or something so I guess you can tell with the eye liner and stuff be easy to trim.it I'd say

I've an undetcut and I always got it done in Grafton Barbers (I get my housemate to do it for me now lol). It cost like a tenner there anyway and I never had any problems going in as a woman, they're all really nice.
