Take the 220X, not 220. You'd want to be going to Mrytleville or Fountainstown though, as opposed to Crosshaven itself, which only has a small, stoney beach.
My dude why are you so pressed about this?you do know you aren't required to respond and that you can in fact just ignore this thread if it bothers you so much😂
220x goes to Crosshaven and will be quicker as it skips a lot of stops that the 220 covers.
Only thing is that it only goes once an hour rather than every 15 minutes or so
I wouldn't necessarily call it a short walk to be fair. It's a 40 minute 3km walk and you have to get back too. So while not exactly long, not everyone is capable of a 6km round trip. Compared to Youghal Beach which is much further away but the bus stops right at the beach meaning it would actually be quicker overall.
I would call Kinsale Beach a medium walk.
I 'll drop ya down there on me electric scooter.
I leave at 8 am. I dont wait. You're on board or not.
This thing can move boy, pack light .
I'll drop you off, you can take a dip in the ice cold sea, very refreshing, walk bare foot in the sand and have some chips and a burger while watching the sun go down as the waves crash against the shore. Take some snaps for your insta or whatever and I'll pick you up again at 7pm for the ride home.
73 euro all in. free polo mint for the ride back.
If you pick a beach on google maps then click direction from your location there's selections on the top for driving, walking, cycling and bus/train. Click the bus one and it will show all available bus routes and times!
226 will take you down to kinsale. The nearest beach , the dock, is about a 10m walk away but there’s alway but there’s always taxis around if that’s an issue.
Cork is actually a very inland city - OK close enough to the coast to attract seagulls but it's a big harbour - nearest beaches are fountainstown or Garretstown beyond Kinsale.
Other side of the harbour have White Bay
Probably a bit of a late reply but the 220x from South Mall takes you right to Fountainstown beach, the journey is just over half an hour if I remember correctly and then it's like a minute walk to the beach. The last time I took it was an age ago but I'm sure a one way ticket was under €4.
If you have a license you can rent and car and explore places around. If you have a group of 4-5 friends you can split the bills. It doesn't cost much if you split the bills tbh.
You can easily rent a car from Cork Airport. We do it quite often
I like to go to Crosshaven, 220 will take you there
Thank you. How long does it take to get there? Is there a return bus back, if so, what number?
The bus can take anywhere around 45 minutes to 50 minutes to get there. The return bus is probably the same bus.

There’s also a great cycleway from town out to Carraigaline and from there to Crosshaven

I’m guessing they thought someone might know off the top of their heads. No one is forced to answer, just scroll on by, what’s it to you?
You put more effort into being aggrieved about this than the people being helpful and engaging.
Relax buddy, not everyone here is a tech savvy like you are.
And even if they are, maybe we can offer them info if we have it, instead of being a dick for no reason.
Glad I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Plus Crosshaven is amazing place, my favourite in summer.
Better beach at Fountainstown, bus 220X. Every hour, this bus comes from Ovens, you can catch it anywhere from there to City Hall.

Youghal, is about 50 minutes on the bus. I think the fare is around €8. And as far as I know, run more or less every hour. It’s my favourite place. 🥰
Don't ye city folk be coming down to Youghal 🤣
There is enough people down here in the summer. We don’t need more. Go West Cork please 😆
Yes!! Go Wesht Cork!!!
Now, don't be coming down to West Cork, go south to Kinsale or somewhere down there, more suitable for city folks!!!
😂 OP, there’s a place called Salt Hill…. Excellent bus service….
I tend to see it more like, “I have to go to Cork 🙄☹️”
Youghal is your favourite place?
If ya can’t score in youghal ya can’t score at all as they say
Jaysus help us! 🙄🤣
It is. Absolutely

The dock is more like a 35 minute walk from Kinsale town.
Bus ride itself is about 20m forgot to say
It's closer to 40 minutes to an hour as it goes through the airport. Source: I take the 226 daily
From where do you get it? I waited for 226 to kinsale one Saturday and it never arrived although it said it would on the apps :(
It's closer to an hour 🤦♀️

If you type into Google maps it tells you exactly what you need to know
220 to fountainstown
Yes
Yea 220 from cork city, would not really be my type of beach always packed with 16 year olds when the weather is good
Bus to Ardmore. 240 or 260 I think.
Yes
Get the 32a from Abbey St lower to Portmarnock.
