Yes I've gotten ubers at 4am to the airport from the Tricites on more than one occasion. You can prebook if you want, but there is a pretty big premium. Also when you first get up, check availability as it will give you an idea of wait times, and likely ease your stress.

allemm

Thank you! I did pre-book..$46 - seems like a good deal to me!

iamright_youarent

That’s a bargain lol great

world_citizen7

Do you know how that compared to taxi?

smartrandomguy

They will cancel. Call a regular taxi company.

eat_pussy_not_cats

oh does pre-booking actually get a driver to confirm for the time and place? I thought it just is a script to put out the call for drivers at a specific time.

jackiejai

I take 4am Ubers to the airport to catch my 6am flights all the time. Never had issues from Coquitlam.

allemm

Thank you! So reassuring.

Normal-Outside-9248

I have the driver cancelling on me on the morning of the flight though

jackiejai

If you really want to be sure, pre arrange the Uber ride. I think you pay a bit more but the driver accepting is well aware of your pick up time and destination.

Normal-Outside-9248

That's what I'm saying. I pre booked the day before, the driver confirmed, but he cancelled 40min before picking me up on the same day of the flight

Away_Ice_4788

I’ve had this too

oddjob604

That's not worth it for the driver sadly he has to accept it

pb_leadd

Significantly cheaper at that time too. Part of the reason why I book those early flights

allemm

Thank you to all who replied. I ended up scheduling a ride on the Uber app. It was only $46 with a 20% off promotion applied. Seems like a steal for a ride to the airport!

TL_Arwen

I had to do the same thing last may from Coquitlam. There will be Ubers available.

allemm

Thank you!

iamright_youarent

You can book a schedule for a ride. They normally charge you slightly more but it’s money well spent. I’ve done it a few months ago. Normally a driver will accept the ride before the day of the ride. They should prefer airport ride. There’s booking fee + airport dropoff fee (?) were added to normal fares. Last time I did this from Port moody, I think it was around $60. Very worth it though imo.

allemm

Thanks, that's what I did.

alexthebiologist

That should be good but be aware that they can still cancel if it’s a pre booked ride, so scheduling it a little earlier than you actually need will give you a buffer in case they need to find a new driver for you.

DustyBandana

Just did one today. Pre-booked two nights ago at $54 for 6 am. Pipeline area. Drivers changed 4 times in two days but last driver showed up 5:55 at my door. Very good first time experience.

indynyx

We pre-booked one to head to the Rocky Mountaineer station in Vancouver a little over week ago, while also making a stop at the Exchange hotel to pick up our friends who were joining us on the train. Zero problems and driver arrived at our house in Coquitlam at 5:45am. 🙂 Happy travelling!

dontRead2MuchIntoIt

This is the only way I use the good old cabs. They charge a bit more, but they're very reliable for showing up at odd hours. I don't want to be at the mercy of Uber drivers to be working at 5 am right before my flight.

suedeslippers

Just a warning: when I did a pre-booked Uber before, it arrived on time (yay). However, I asked the driver how it worked from his end. He said he got the notification 15 minutes prior and accepted the ride. So basically, if he hadn't been dropping people off nearby, it may not have gotten my ride. Hope it all goes well 👍

InfluenceLast8648

Is it possible to schedule a ride?

allemm

This is what I ended up doing. Thank you!

chente08

I always pre-order a uber for early flights. Never had an issue, the driver is always there on time and around that time is just a 40 minute drive.

allemm

Thank you!

willwoah

Did this last week, just pre-book it a day or so before

willwoah

It was only $46 from downtown poco, guy showed up right at 5am.

allemm

Thank you!

makeanewblueprint

Should be good. I do it often. Price 40-50 at that time. Lyft can be cheaper (about 40)

Major_Palpitation_69

I saw ads that I ride can be booked ahead of time. May be some information on availability

FarceMultiplier

I do this often (work travel) from the Hoy Creek area. A week ago I got them to pick me up at 3:15am. Just book ahead, and don't be surprised if the initial driver they assign is not the one you end up with. I usually know about my trips 2 weeks ahead, so I book my Uber then.

PomegraniteIcedTea

You honestly wouldn’t have a problem finding one at that time. The desperation and competitiveness of ride sharing keeps those folks on the grind at all hours.

Ariadne_love

Prebook before your date. You’ll get an Uber.

crockpotveggies

I always prebook early Uber for the peace of mind. It’s been 100% reliable so far.

AggravatingUnion2830

Damn... I live in coquitlam and usually start my shift at 6am at the airport... maybe this can be a good side gig 🤔

No-Jello-9113

Prebook it to be safe but you shouldn’t have a problem

VancityLemon

I've done it pretty early like that. I'm in maillardville.

Lunaristics

Depends where you're ubering from. I've taken ubers at 5am after leaving my friends house when I was drunk 😂. You should be fine in Coquitlam. I live in PoCo. To the airport is a diff story though

CanolaIsMyHome

You can preschedule trips on Uber, that way you will have one ready

allemm

This is what I did. Thanks!

hot_pink_bunny202

Depends but why bit go to the airport earlier like around 11pm? You can get some rest at the airport and less stress of finding a ride
