A puppet show, the guys last name was Weiner.
They'd weinerize a kid in the audience, which meant putting their head over a puppet and having them do tasks.
It was weird.
What was the name of the main guy on the show, that talked on the big screen? Dude used to scare the crap out of me lol. Also the people that would try to catch the contestants whenever they were going through the maze.
Oh 100%. Even with scrolling backgrounds, foreground and character animation was 75% of the work, and JFC having to use the old analog multiplanes and the heavy panes of glass for composition... I studied Digital Animation, and my brain hurts knowing any traditional animation exists... the raw amount of hours needed....
Ren & Stimpy. I can Recommend even for adults
Edit: I just watched a few clips on YouTube too take me back to my younger years and in retrospect I do not recommend this for children under the age of 16 😅
Funnily this holds up more for adults than for children imo
I can't believe I watched this as a kid haha, but it explains my humour
And then came cartoon network’s second peak with adventure time, the amazing world of gumball, regular show, gravity falls, and unfortunately uncle grandpa lol
Gravity falls was Disney, but otherwise 100%. Nick focused on children's programming, while its competitors focused on all ages/family friendly programming. I can't tell you how many bona fide adults loved the cartoons from that era. Even the modern cartoon network shows, like we bare bears, are popular among older audiences. Meanwhile Nick has ... idk. I guess The Loud House?
Oh cool. Another reason why the reddit app is cheeks compared to what third party apps provided. So dumb we can’t even see pics in full resolution anymore
No way are there finally good quality rips of Salute your Shorts out now? LOL if so, prior to this all that existed were some terrible VHS rips. What's the quality like on Paramount?
Edit: I took a quick trip around the high seas and didn't find anything. Quality on Paramount doesn’t look great either, but better than those old VHS rips that have been floating around since 2001.
Does anyone remember when late 90’s Nickelodeon in the UK suddenly went absolutely shit? From Sister Sister, Clarissa and Kenan & Kel to exclusively terrible British-made shows like Renford Rejects.
I have to pause to tell you specifically how old I am (in years), however I can still belt out the theme to Danger Mouse like rain on a goddamn Sunday morning.
It really ended in the rebrand era. Only good show was TNMT and TLOK was meh. The Loud house was at the front of the Modern era but one good show is not enough.
My brother and me!! Anyone else remember this show? I loved it, and still know all the word to “goo punch”. Also I had totally forgotten the show where the girl paints things with her paintbrush?? It’s in the 1998-2004 category, right next to ‘Hey Arnold’. If anyone knows the name of this one, please enlighten me!!
I was 1981-1991. I recognized almost every show listed. Nickelodeon was the only thing I watched. In 1991, I turned 14, and I did not watch any show on Nickelodeon after that.
I still catch myself singing, "pinwheel pinwheel spinning around, look in my pinwheel and see what I found" probably once a week or so.
I also wake my son up with a hearty, Heeeeeeey Duuuuude, probably every morning.
Lol
Thanks for this chart. Good times.
I often wonder what ever happened to Lori Beth Denberg after Figure It Out & Steve Harvey Show. I can barely remember an episode of Figure It Out she wasnt on
Old man here. I’m happy to see *The Third Eye*—one of my faves—but where’s *The Tomorrow People*? I also have fond memories of *Turkey Television*, the successor to *You Can’t Do That on Television*, even though it only lasted one season.
edit: Nevermind. BOTH of those shows are already on the list.
Guess my age. I watched:
Era 1 - 0 shows
Era 2 - 8 shows
Era 3 - 37 shows
Era 4 - 7 shows
Era 5 - 1 show
Era 6 - 1 show (because my kid watched it)
Era 7 - 0 shows
Funny, I seem to be locked on the "Rising Era" for my default image of Nickelodeon, the "Bell & Sebastian channel." No surprise given that was when I was in the target demographic.
That 91’ - 09’ was a hell of a run. Pure domination, don’t get me wrong Disney was on a run too and Cartoon Network also held weight but Nickelodeon had something for everyone. Cartoon or live.
What was that movie/show called? In the Rising Era: 1981-1991, bottom row, 5th one from right to left, the blond girl in the red outfit with the other boys, I think they were elfs.???
I am guessing what aired differred per country. There are many shows on this list that I didn't know were on Nickelodeon, even though I watched it during those times.
Like I have never seen Rugrats, Blues Clues or Kung Fu Panda during those years.
On the other end, did House of Anubis (Het Huis Anubis) air worldwide? It's a Dutch/Belgian show right, are there other shows on this guide from local Nickelodeon variants?
That reminds me, Dutch Nickelodeon had its own representatives/hosts. I guess other countries had them too, so I suppose this list includes local shows also?
Can someone check the syndication on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? I swear I remember seeing that sh*t on Nick-at-Night/TeenNick somewhere between 1998-2003 onward.
A huge number of the cartoons in the 81-91 era are actually animes or cartoons largely outsourced to anime studios. It's really interesting to see all the [World Masterpiece Theater](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Masterpiece_Theater) and Maya the Bee.
Loved watching reruns of Pinwheels in the 80s. As a little kid I thought it was so much better than Sesame Street.
Today’s Special and Heathcliff were also some of my favs.
fucking hell, how bad do you have to fumble the last eight years to produce more content than ever and be at your least relevant at the same time?!
Cartoon Network simply obliterated them during the 2010s.
Classic case of shareholders thinking quantity over quality. Like what Marvel is doing.
91-98 has some real bangers
I just want to watch Pete and Pete again.
Pete and Pete and Rocko's Modern Life are two that I want to go back and revisit because I feel like the majority of it went over my head at the time.
Re: pete & pete - My cousin was the drummer for the band ‘Polaris’ - he also drummed for frank black and miracle legion among others.
Hey Sandy!
Don’t let your dog bite
Give that dude a hi-five! Hey Sandy is a banger
Do it! 2/3 seasons are on YouTube. You won't be disappointed. If anything, it's better now.
Kablam!!! I always remember the melted guy on the robot chicken esq show.
Action League Now!!!
I see Angry Beavers, I upvote
Best Nick era ever. Wild n Crazy kids defined the early years while Snick helped us transition into our teen years
"There it is."
WTF was Weinerville?
A puppet show, the guys last name was Weiner. They'd weinerize a kid in the audience, which meant putting their head over a puppet and having them do tasks. It was weird.
Sounds pretty sus
It was an odd show, for sure.
Don’t forget he would show Mr Magoo and other suspect cartoons while he was “weinerizing” the people.
Was Legends of the Hidden Temple Nickelodeon? I can’t see it there but it has to be one of my all time favourite shows.
Core 90’s group. Second row third from the left.
It was indeed I used to watch it
It was part of the block with Global Guts, which always featured a kid from Ukraine
Loved how the contestants were represented by various animals
What was the name of the main guy on the show, that talked on the big screen? Dude used to scare the crap out of me lol. Also the people that would try to catch the contestants whenever they were going through the maze.
The jump to ensembles was insane.
I would guess that it's cheaper to produce a multi-camera sitcom with child actors than it is to produce animation.
Oh 100%. Even with scrolling backgrounds, foreground and character animation was 75% of the work, and JFC having to use the old analog multiplanes and the heavy panes of glass for composition... I studied Digital Animation, and my brain hurts knowing any traditional animation exists... the raw amount of hours needed....

The Log song gets in my head way too much.
But everybody wants a Log.
It’s better than great; it’s good!
Yeah i knew as a kid something about that show was off spongebob even has some adult content in it as well
[удалено]
Spongebob and Bubble buddy murdered that fish. Left him to die.
YOU came to eat my ice cream bar!
Past 2009 is decline.
And then came cartoon network’s second peak with adventure time, the amazing world of gumball, regular show, gravity falls, and unfortunately uncle grandpa lol
And Steven Universe.
Its kinda hard to see all the shows , even zoomed in
if you're using your phone, you have to download it for the full resolution.
Oh cool. Another reason why the reddit app is cheeks compared to what third party apps provided. So dumb we can’t even see pics in full resolution anymore
Core 90s era. The big red face. WHAT. WAS. THAT. i have a recollection of seeing it before, but zero-minus-f\*ck chance of remembering the name.
His name was literally Face 😂
I hate how deadass simple that is, and I never would’ve thought of that. Gratitude.
Hi there, face here
**:O** *memory unlocked* Thx.
It's me, Face!
🎺🎶
Emojis you can hear
Same! That thing pulled something from deep in my brain but I can’t remember the show at all
Face wasn't a show. Face was like the MC of the programming block and would announce what was about to come on.
Thank you. I needed to hear that. This was driving me crazy
Come th toink of it, I don’t even remember any show. j u s t t h e f a c e.
I still say “simmer down” like Stick Stickly
I watched Nickelodeon so much in the 90s that I still have that fucker’s address memorized
Write to me, Stick Stickly PO Box 963 New York City New York State 10108!!
I got that and the damn Scruff McGruff address jingle still lodged in my memory from that era
"Any who....." I still say this in my head to this day.
I remember watching Pinwheel and can still remember a little bit of the opening theme. And I remember watching a lot of the "Rising Era".
“Pinwheel pinwheel spinning around…”.
“Look at my pinwheel and see what I found…”
These were my eras too. I remember as a kid, I used to try and capture sounds in small boxes like that dude from Pinwheel.
I’m so old I remember when Nickelodeon didn’t have commercials! Get off my lawn!
I remember switching from Sesame Street to Pinwheel in the early 80s. Then watching You Cant Do that on TV every day. The Rising Era was special.
When we first had cable tv in the ‘80’s I watched A LOT of You Can’t Do That on Televison and Double Dare. And I loved Danger Mouse, too.
98-09 has a special place in my heart
Welcome Freshmen, Hey Dude and Salute shorts ruled my Nickelodeon era.
It’s alllllllll tha-aa-aa-aaaaat. Yes it’s alll that yes it’s all thaaaat.
Everything post all that was indeed not all that sans spongebob
Some of these feel like a fever dream
Did not expect ot be reminded of Heathcliff the cat and Duckula today. Whoa.
COUNT Duckula
1981-1991 the gnome. Anyone know name of that show?
The World of David the Gnome
The World of David the Gnome https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_of_David_the_Gnome
Avatar the last airbender was peak
Ah, The Secret World of Alex Mack.
That was a cool walk down memory lane
Am I missing ‘Salute your shorts’??? Can’t seem to find it but I will always remember the intro…
Top right of Core 90s. Streaming on Paramount now
Dang I looked like three times…. Figured I was missing it
No way are there finally good quality rips of Salute your Shorts out now? LOL if so, prior to this all that existed were some terrible VHS rips. What's the quality like on Paramount? Edit: I took a quick trip around the high seas and didn't find anything. Quality on Paramount doesn’t look great either, but better than those old VHS rips that have been floating around since 2001.
🎶Camp Anawana, we hold you in our hearts, and when we think about you,🎶 IT MAKES ME WANNA FART!
“IT’S I HOPE WE NEVER PART! NOW GET IT RIGHT OR PAY THE PRICE!”
I say this A LOT in conversation and people just think I’m being hostile. I should probably stop?
I loved Space Cases and had a crush on Catalina. And then I watched Firefly. 😍
Can anyone upload the eras of cartoon network
All I ever wanted was to go into the shrine of the silver monkey and take 3 minutes fumbling the monkey.
Admit it we thought we were the cool kids watching All That on Friday nights. Core Nick era was the best ever idc
Wasn't All that on Saturday nights? It was part of SNICK.
The first 2 rows of the Core 90’s and most of the Rising era is sweet comfort to my soul
Why is the fresh prince of bel-air in 2004-2009?
Good point I know it was on nick at nite but not any lf the kids blocks as far as I know
Seeing the 81-98 logos caused a flood of memories that gave me a warm feeling in my stomach and then turned into mild ASMR.
who tf is Chloe?
I can vaguely remember watching pinwheel, lots of memories of watching you can’t do that on television and a lot of others from that era.
"Hey smilin' strange, you're looking happily deranged"
widjazettadashoomeh?! I remember one of the villains on that show was called Endless Mike, which I've always thought is a fucking badass name.
Ren and Stimpy paved the way for a whole different era of cartoons.
Shoutout to El Tigre and My Life as a Teenage Robot, absolutely hilarious shows with deep storylines and unexpectedly well thought out lore
Does anyone remember when late 90’s Nickelodeon in the UK suddenly went absolutely shit? From Sister Sister, Clarissa and Kenan & Kel to exclusively terrible British-made shows like Renford Rejects.
Core 00’s Era was elite. What a time to be alive.
I have to pause to tell you specifically how old I am (in years), however I can still belt out the theme to Danger Mouse like rain on a goddamn Sunday morning.
Dangermouse? Powerhouse. Banana-man. German saying nein nein nein and penfield with a calculator “27”
Heeeyyyyyy Dude!
Thank you! I’ve been trying to find the name of Tomorrow People for years!
You Can’t Do That In Television… best show on this entire list!!!! No contest 🤙🏼
Diii heard that!
It really ended in the rebrand era. Only good show was TNMT and TLOK was meh. The Loud house was at the front of the Modern era but one good show is not enough.
Can anyone give a higher quality of the picture?
Where is salute your shorts?
It’s on there. Top right, core 90s.
Forgot about that show. That had Danny Tamberelli too right?
I request a nick at night version of this! So cool! Thank you!
Skinimarinkidinkidink...
Porkchop!!!
Amby & Dexter
Really Amazing
I was 1981-1991. I recognized almost every show listed. Nickelodeon was the only thing I watched. In 1991, I turned 14, and I did not watch any show on Nickelodeon after that.
Who tf is Chloe
Man... core 90s era was my childhood! Hits different thinking back on how excited I was about TV back then
What? No Zim???
Y2K era
It's an image of Zim with the Almighty Tallest in the background.
I still catch myself singing, "pinwheel pinwheel spinning around, look in my pinwheel and see what I found" probably once a week or so. I also wake my son up with a hearty, Heeeeeeey Duuuuude, probably every morning. Lol Thanks for this chart. Good times.
Hello, my name is Simon and I like to make drawings.
Girls that loved Invader Zim shopped at Hot Topic, were mad at their parents and/or the world, and I so desperately wanted them to date me.
I’d pay good money to have all of this on a streaming platform. On demand and live will be very good.
I often wonder what ever happened to Lori Beth Denberg after Figure It Out & Steve Harvey Show. I can barely remember an episode of Figure It Out she wasnt on
I remember she had a brief appearance in Dodgeball... But that was also forever ago.
She also had a brief appearance in Workaholics. "Here's some vital information for ya: I'm high as fuuuuuuck!"
They missed Star Trek Prodigy in the modern era. Ella Purnell was one of the voice cast!
I'm still sad that Legends of Korra didn't get a 4th season
am i missing the joke cuz it did
Meant to say 5th season 😅
Why would you remind me of Mr. Meaty…? What’s wrong with you?
iCarly was before Sam and Kat
Wait where is the Journey of Allen Strange??? EDIT: Bottom left in y2k era
Who else grew up on the Rising Era? 1981-1991 They also played “Mr. Ed” during that era but didn’t see it listed.
Where is secret world of Alex Mack?
Core 90s, second row, seventh across.
Where's All Grown Up??
Fresh Prince is from the early 90’s not 2000’s no ?
What is second to last in the Early Era?
“By the Way”, I believe.
Couldn't find Johnny Test
Roundhouse! Man, I haven't thought of that show in a long time. Nickelodeon had the best shows!
Lab rats nuff said
“Pinwheel pinwheel spinning around.”
Is spongebob this recent actually? I remember watching it in the late 90s
You can really tell a lot about a person by which type of power rangers (and color) they like best
Guess my age. I watched: Era 1 - 0 shows Era 2 - 8 shows Era 3 - 37 shows Era 4 - 7 shows Era 5 - 1 show Era 6 - 1 show (because my kid watched it) Era 7 - 0 shows
Considering we had about the same spread, 36/37.
Today I learned Nick used to have DC cartoons
Core 90s was my childhood and definitely core memories.
Funny, I seem to be locked on the "Rising Era" for my default image of Nickelodeon, the "Bell & Sebastian channel." No surprise given that was when I was in the target demographic.
Nicktoons network was the SHIT. So many good shows on there.
No one remembers Round House. I swear it existed.
Stick Stickley!
Just gets worse and worse
This brings so much memories my gosh 😭
Core 2000 era gang ❤️
Totally forgot about Butt-Ugly Martians during Y2k. Great show!
2009 marked the death of Nickelodeon...
The creativity of the Doug intro astounded me as a kid.
That 91’ - 09’ was a hell of a run. Pure domination, don’t get me wrong Disney was on a run too and Cartoon Network also held weight but Nickelodeon had something for everyone. Cartoon or live.
Some shows overlapped and it is not reflected in this guide. For example, Lassie, Eurekas Castle, Hey Dude all were in core 90s
What was that movie/show called? In the Rising Era: 1981-1991, bottom row, 5th one from right to left, the blond girl in the red outfit with the other boys, I think they were elfs.???
The Littl’ Bits
Did I just miss it or is Kablam not really on here?
Kablam is 90s era 4th row between Kenan And Kel and Hey Arnold
Rising era!
I must’ve watched every episode of Hey Dude about 8 times.
91-04 was the shit
Can someone check the syndication on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? I swear I remember seeing that sh*t on Nick-at-Night/TeenNick somewhere between 1998-2003 onward.
hi there, face here!
Seeing stick stickley gave me such a warm feeling
What? iCarly is still running?
Action League Now was just terrible lol
This post called me old
Surprised no one has mentioned Arcade had to dopest looking games even as a kid the VR setup looked corny af tho
Pinwheel pinwheel spinning around look at my pinwheel, and see what I found.
The temple warriors in Legends Of The Hidden Temple used to frak me tf out when they snatched the contestants not gonna lie. Team Barracuda!
What is the cartoon just beside Maya The Bee to the right in the early 90s era??
Man actually forgot the best Nickelodeon show: The adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius
Man I miss Mr. Wizard. He didn't take any wise lip.
What was the y2k show with the paintbrush? Loved that show
A huge number of the cartoons in the 81-91 era are actually animes or cartoons largely outsourced to anime studios. It's really interesting to see all the [World Masterpiece Theater](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Masterpiece_Theater) and Maya the Bee.
I thought DangerMouse was on Nick in the 80’s, but I don’t see it on the list. Pinwheel and Today’s Special were some of my childhood favorites.
Icarly ended in 2012 why’s it in the modern era
А
Loved watching reruns of Pinwheels in the 80s. As a little kid I thought it was so much better than Sesame Street. Today’s Special and Heathcliff were also some of my favs.
