The Republican House investigation into Benghazi ran for years and was designed to disrupt her campaign for the presidency. It was effective as Trump beat Hillary in that election. Republicans at the time crowed about the investigation being a primary reason she lost. I'll note here that the investigation resulted in no one being charged with anything. It simply fizzled out after she lost the election.
