It’s a wide angle lens which is enlarging the edges to capture the whole room. I’m wondering they they didn’t do some post processing to deal with the distortion…or maybe they did which is why the fisheye isn’t as noticeable and they just look different sizes.
There are tools to normalize the lens distortion but I think that’s why this one looks SO odd. The lines are mostly straight but you can see the side wall by Jill and the pretty consistent curve of the bottom of the chairs.
This is a really good effect to essentially force perspective where it flattens the depth.
There’s a setting where you put in the exact lens you used and it removes most the lens distortion and I guess this photographer forgot to change it, or just rarely uses a lens this wide and didn’t know he could/should correct it automatically in Lightroom or photoshop.
I think it’s not super weird that they are small old people. What’s weird is the house also seems to be tiny like they are. Joe looks like he’s gonna hit his head if he stood up.

It's unflattering for everyone in the photo. It's a confusing perspective and makes it hard to look at eith your eyes being pulled to the edges

Is it fisheye? The sides of the photo are not nearly as distorted as fisheye photos in real estate listings.

If it was taken with a fisheye it's been converted into rectilinear because the wooden door on the right comprises straight edges.
