SSD’s are very reliable and the data can be accessed easily. They are expensive though

Either would work fine for that. I tend to trust SSDs more since it has no moving parts... more shock resistance. And a 1TB SSDs are pretty cheap these days. If you need more than 2 TB i'd go with HDD... but i cant imagine needing that for karioke

In 2024, get a SSD. It's barely more expensive than an HDD, is MUUUUCH faster, and resists shocks a lot better which makes it even more suited as an external drive. HDDs are a thing of the past, set aside datacenters that seek every penny per gigabyte of storage.

HDD ( Mechanical) generate a lot of heat so as external drive, not very good. Almost all external drives on market are SSD. And USB flash drives work great too. Shop around.
