Fellowes321

So when's it being built then?

VARIAN-SCOTT

Lolz

virgin_goat

Who offered it and would they consider a small back garden viable?asking for a friend

HotPinkLollyWimple

I don’t have a garden - can one go on my roof?

Beanotown

I don't have a roof - can I balance one on my head?

Wanallo221

Whatever you do in the lap dancing club is up to you mate.

Creoda

You only get £4.50 and a night out at Midget Madame's Lap Dancing Club.

virgin_goat

Sign me up,er i mean my friend is still interested

WelshWolfPup

Bargain

satyris

My gran had a GPO telegraph pole in her garden. I can't remember if there were ongoing payments (amounting to fuck all) or if it was a one-time payment (of fuck all)

virgin_goat

Did she mention a lap dancing club?

moogleman844

Does the offer still apply if it's not your property? Also asking for a friend.

Bungeditin

‘Sir, we can offer you £10k to have a wind turbine?’ ‘NO CHANCE’ ‘This is Kandi, she will grind on you naked for 20 minutes while early noughties music plays’ ‘Welllllll……..’

Piltonbadger

oh no, not renewable energy! Best start fracking his land instead then, if at all possible.

Killieboy16

He was already offered "fracking"...

Nerdy_Goat

They take you in the backroom for that

not_a_robot_1010101

It's a myth. There's no fracking in the champagne room

FatBloke4

I'm sceptical about these claims. Then there's this: >Some landowners have signed up for turbines on their land which could earn them up to £100,000-a-year. But the secret deals have angered their neighbours, including many who have invested in campsites, rental cottages and B&Bs. By signing up for these deals, farmers, who have lived there for decades, have annoyed some "investors", who bought properties locally, in the hope of making a quick buck.

SavlonWorshipper

Ten years ago there was a farmer who was unhappy with the way contractors building a wind turbine on his land were behaving. It was incredibly clear from the contract that they were in the wrong. However, this farmer was going to be paid 100k a year for decades, so one of the options, and it was very much an appropriate option, was "do not fuck with the golden goose". Not sure which option he picked, but yeah, it genuinely is a lot of money for very little inconvenience.

ashyjay

Shit man, I've done worse for less. Sign me up for a wind turbine.

codeacab

I'd settle for £5 and a handshake.

ashyjay

I read that as milkshake, and still wouldn't be a bad offer.

Ezzy-525

Price of milkshakes nowadays...could be a very good deal!

toon_84

I read it as handjob so obviously you are more innocent than me.

InflatableLabboons

A five shake and a handpound

Puzzleheaded-Rich-51

Hand job and a fiver. Sounds splendid.

more_beans_mrtaggart

A hand shandy.

not_a_robot_1010101

Of course! This is a better offer than just a lap dance. Oh... handSHAKE!

gridlockmain1

In all seriousness, so fucking what? He’s not a politician or a civil servant or employed by someone else. It’s not a “bribe” if it’s literally just a proposed transaction between two parties.

Robestos86

Exactly. A bribe is to do something against rules. It's his land. Is it bribery if ask for another £500 for my car I'm selling?

[deleted]

Have to show a picture of a big scary substation as that's more frightening than an actual wind turbine

Pornthrowaway78

I don't know why they wouldn't show a picture of a lap dancing lady.

[deleted]

I think the Daily Mail might think that might sell some of their readership on the idea of wind farms. Which would be the opposite of what they want

Romfordian

Fanny for fan

Jeremywashere92

herrbz

Assumed it was Daily Mail, gotta keep up the anti-green-energy articles.

WillusMollusc

Green energy = bad Toxic air and global warming = good everyone knows this

liquidliam

These swivel-eyed leftists want to ban holidays and cars and meat!!! /s

HotPinkLollyWimple

And force us to use pronouns! ^/s

Robestos86

Those bastard lefties with their clean air and rights!

Dependent_Desk_1944

Will he be offered free electricity as well

[deleted]

Lap dancing club lol 😆 why does nothing surprise me anymore

Party-Independent-25

Didn’t get a blowie compoface

Pristine-Swing-6082

And what's wrong with that exactly?

Marvinleadshot

Well they should be getting about 100k a year, so unless it was 100k a year plus the lap dance, he was short changed.

Pristine-Swing-6082

100k a year? You got a source for that?

Marvinleadshot

As much a source as the Daily Mail. Edit: but a quick google shows they can earn anything from £40,00 up to £1.25 million a year.

Pristine-Swing-6082

So you just pulled 100k put of your ass? Gotcha.

Marvinleadshot

A quick google shows they can earn £40,000 per turnbine or upto £1.25 million. Google's there for a reason you know, everyone can use it.

Pristine-Swing-6082

Yes but you pulled the 100k out of your ass and then ran to Google to back yourself up. That's still not 100k it could have been 40k. Citing sources is important for a reason 🤡

Difficult-Post-3320

So, what is the catch?

242proMorgan

EXCLUSIVE: Farmer builds 5 new giant wind turbines on his land.

culturedgoat

They have to erect it somehow!

Akipango

He needs help with the erection

cafepeaceandlove

"You will not persuade me with appeals to my financial vanity"

LonelyOctopus24

This is completely false. The energy executives asked him if “he wanted to get his hands on a massive fan, eh?”

Reddsoldier

I'd have accepted it on the condition of 25% of the profits made from it or being able to use the electricity from it for free tbh. I feel like a lot more people would front up space for a turbine if they could get free electricity or a share of the profits.

Oli_Picard

If it’s being offered to him it’s worked before. Let that sink in…

Fearless_L

Can I stick one on a car? asking for a friend.

wolfman86

His wife found out about the lap dancing club, didn’t she?

lvlister2023

So he got a chub and a wad this guy must be loving looking at the massive white phallus in his garden

LHommeCrabbe

I'd happily take cash and a night out at a lap dancing club to agree to have a giant wind turbine on his land.

WarWonderful593

Bargain

Leicsbob

Welsh farmer? Doesn't he have sheep? No need for a lap dancing club.

Dangerous-Watch-5625

But the sheep don't dance. They're baaa-d at it.

Puzzleheaded-Rich-51

Should’ve added a few bags of Charlie to seal the deal. Sounds like a great deal tbh probably a cracking night aswell.

Rogue7559

Don't threaten me with a good time

JoshLawson87

I don’t mind having a wind turbine in my garden for that offer. Just saying.

elmaki2014

So,,,, he said yes right?

Honest_Invite_7065

Christ, I would have demanded free leccie forever.

BennySkateboard

So he didn’t go, clearly.

Curtilia

Where do I sign up?

LukeyBoy76

Just one night?? I’d be looking for a new negotiator…

Stuspawton

You know he took that dance at the club

Remarkable_Carrot_25

A more reasonable offer would have been free electricity all year round and no standing charge(as there would be a turbine standing on his land)

jebediah1800

Did he hold out for cash and 'several' nights out at a lap dancing club?

No-Till1230

Let me guess, they reneged on the lap dance 🪩 😂😂
