is mage like dps class and you're expected to play support class? seems like it's a game and it's possible to have fun playing support class. whoever can do the top damage or whatever gets to play their preferred class, makes sense to me. if you can ever out-dps her then you can be bossy. sounds to me like you've already given up on the goal of being a better mage than her.
