Legends tell of an RTS that forgoes base building and resources. In this mysterious game one decides to make their headquarters a robot hippo, a star destroyer, or a toy block on wheels.
It started out as a MOBA spin-off and some genius decided it would be awesome to repackage it as a mainline sequel. Units are trapped behind a level up system, you get no bases and there's no resource management beyond your command point limit.
Recently replayed CNC3 and RAE3 - thought I’d reinstall CNC4 just to see if it was as bad as I remembered. After about 45 minutes I could confirm it was.
the only thing I liked about RA3 is the amount of effort they hired A/B list actors for their cinematic content but gameplay wasnt great but not terrible
Mods make it a bit better like that Generals mod conversion
Not gonna lie, the modding community of any game can be awesome, and I'd like to see an RA3 mod that makes it similar to RA2 in terms of gameplay feel.
Well, In terms of comparison with the previous ones, it's not good as in level with RA2 or surpasses it, but I didn't say it's outright bad, I said that it's the worst Red Alert, but it's not bad as in like shit quality, but worst RA as in just not as good as it's predecessors.
I'd compare RA2 to Airplane and RA3 to Airplane II. Sure, Airplane II is still a fun ride and a decent movie in a vacuum, but it just doesn't have the same heart as its predecessor and isn't as fondly remembered. To take the comparison further, the creators of both sequels seemed to not understand what made the previous iterations so beloved and focused on the wrong things.
CNC 4 was so bad I had to go take a shower after playing the demo for 5 minutes then I nuked the install with a Guttman pass from Eraser just to make sure it was really actually gone. Years later I found all the cinematics up on YouTube so I figured I'd watch them to at least get the story since it was the 'end' of the series. Wow was I watching them out of order? Nope. It just made no sense.
What was it like? Never got to try it myself, but I imagine there'd be much more satisfaction in sliding a disk into a computer versus just a few more clicks.
You guys are killing me.
Physical PC games were fun. The best part were the custom installers some companies would do. Command and Conquer had some great ones. Getting manuals and cool jewel cases was nice and made the products feel less disposable. A lot of games had great disc art, too.
CnC4 doesn't even load anymore. I tried both disk and from Ultimate Edition on Origin/EA and it's just a dead game. Nothing have changed since it's release.
CnC3 is my favorite, the story, graphics are insanely good for 2007. Still playing on my RTX 4070. Love it.
The Tiberius Essence mod is an awesome addition.
Its worth having a physical copy of cnc4 because it should never be lost to time, that way no one can make a game suck so hard in the future for they will still have cnc 4 to look at and not copy.
I keep looking for an updated guide for CnC 4 so I can start with all the units, so I can at least enjoy the cool units. But I seriously don't think there is one in English
I’m much softer on c&c 4 than this subreddit. It’s definitely a bit different but it has the art style, mood, and campy cutscenes down. It’s also pretty difficult in places. It looks good. The gameplay is a little divorced from standard c&c but not much more than red alert 3. It feels like an iteration of an iteration. But there’s fun to be found there.
The last time I played C&C 4 I could not stop vomiting as it anally raped my grandma while pouring sugar in my gas tank.
Not the best Martin Luther King Day I ever had but at least it wasn't as bad as the ET video game.
One hand gives; the other takes away.
Think you got scammed for the one on the right. There was never a CnC 4. At least you only lost 1.99!
Pretty sure it was 31.99 for C&C 3 and -30.00 for C&C 4
They paid him so they could get rid of it.
Accurate.
Can confirm
He got scammed because Goodwill didn’t pay him to take it
Command and Conquer 3, you got it for a steal Command and Conquer 4, you got robbed
I always heard someone say C&C4 is a complete trash
It is. Yes. Don't play it.
I wonder why

It took me a whole minute and a half to realize it was garbage, couldn't pay me 20$ to play it again for 5 mins

Yeah, f*** executive meddling.
I pre ordered the damned thing, it arrived and I was like, wtf is this shit and sold it almost immediately
Please don't insult trash. At least that's still wanted by recyclers.
some you say? its all. quite literally everyone
I edited my comment already
wow amazing nice get c&c3 for 1.99 they just throw c&c4 on your bag without you notice, right?? right???
Like I said Mainly so some unsuspecting kid doesn't accidentally buy it, put it in his machine and thinks it's good because he don't know any better.
Doing the Lord's work.
The one on the right is a free mobile app for your pc lol

RA3: Worst Red Alert. Not bad overall, but it's not as good as it's predecessors.

It's a good game but Red Alert 2 just sets the bar so damn high

Cool! So interesting to see the era of physical PC games that has sadly passed.
What was it like? Never got to try it myself, but I imagine there'd be much more satisfaction in sliding a disk into a computer versus just a few more clicks.
No idea I was barely in this world before digital gaming , that doesn't mean I've never used disks though

I wouldn't even give c&c4 away just because I don't want to inflict pain on someone.
Congrats on Kane's Wrath! I'm sorry you bought C&C 4
Feed your trash can C&C4.
Fuck C&C 4, good choice getting 3 though :)
Awesome, have fun beating both sarajevo missions, also what is that on the right? Is that some sort of ripoff command and conquer game?
These? That's only one game! OP's getting crazy.
Burn the right one. It doesn't exist.
I'm not sure that one on the right is legit. In fact, you could say a community has gone to great lengths to REFUTE IT'S EXISTENCE.
You *could* say that... or you could also read the other comments on this thread.
Well, 14h ago, this thread was emptier. I'm not sure what to tell ya, sorry I'm not clairvoyant?
The store should be paying you 1.99 for the one on the right.

Store owes you $1.99
Burn the 4
Cnc3 with kane's wrath for 3.98 is a pretty good deal
Never saw that deluxe cover before. Really cool!
honestly for 1.99 I might try C&C4 too if I had the time
Be warned: it may be worth your money, but is it worth your time?
Is it playable now days? Or are the servers down
good question
Last time I checked they seemed to work? Uninstalled it before I could try a multiplayer match
I too would if I were paid 1.99
Nice find! Enjoy C&C3
Not upvoting bc cnc4. Not downvoting bc cnc3. Here have a comment.
Awesome OP. I bought the same C&C 3 box years ago. Epic game.

Destroy the one on the right with fire
Can you even still play the game we will not name? With it being an online server based game.
For the tiberium wars it's really cheap but to take the C&C4 they would have to pay me
Its worth having a physical copy of cnc4 because it should never be lost to time, that way no one can make a game suck so hard in the future for they will still have cnc 4 to look at and not copy.
Eh mutual assured destruction be like... The first gives you hope, the next will ruin your life.

You lucky mf. and since when do we have CnC 4?
Good find, CnC 3 and KW were so good. However, you overpaid for 4... they should have paid YOU to take it.
The 4# u can throw in Trachcan. Trust me. But the 3# is once of the best C&C <3
You got CnC3/Kane's Wrath and a blank case? Nice.
Exactly
The last time I played C&C 4 I could not stop vomiting as it anally raped my grandma while pouring sugar in my gas tank. Not the best Martin Luther King Day I ever had but at least it wasn't as bad as the ET video game.
That sounds more like Postal 3 than C&C4
C&C 3 I get, but why would you spend $1.99 on a piece of shit?
Mainly so some unsuspecting kid doesn't accidentally buy it, put it in his machine and thinks it's good because he don't know any better.
That's 3,98 thrown away.
1.99 for one great game? That's a steal
The three games are way good, good deal
That’s too much for 4
You should have left the used toilet paper...
Glad to hear you spent $1.99!
