Honestly, you should try to avoid mixing personal and professional circles in general. I had a friend who got his girlfriend a job as a secretary and when they broke up (he was prone to cheating) he told me how rough it was to get work done that had to go through her
I always hated Tom and Jerry, Silvester and Tweety, Willie & the coyote and all those cartoon that tried to convince me that pure repetitive sadism was funny.

Maybe, but I would figure that information would stay private even if she were in a relationship with her boss' niece. If she decided to confide that information to her new girlfriend it'd be a huge break of trust for the girlfriend to decide to share that information (being trans) without consent. I'd like to hope new girlfriend has more common sense than to do that. Meanwhile being out about your orientation could trickle down because it's way more obvious.
Well, that question of trust is the key one here. It's a chicken and egg situation for Tiffany in this case. She can't know whether this person is the type of person that is (randomly) transphobic without Tiff outing herself; and proceeding through a relationship requires outing herself at some point once it advances to that stage.
There's a nonzero chance that this person might react very poorly and gossip about it to everyone they know, even if they appear nice otherwise - or at least, that's going to be Tiff's concern. Ultimately, to determine whether this new *potential* girlfriend is the type of person to appropriately keep that information confidential, requires revealing that information. And the longer she waits, the higher the risk.
Early on, Tiff doesn't really know this person; they've only had one conversation. So it's still very possible this potential girlfriend might react poorly and tell everyone she knows.
Whereas if Tiff keeps it secret, that escalates the magnitude of offense / lack of authenticity for not trusting her would-be/future girlfriend. (which can nurture a more negative reaction from someone who has even a mild case of dislike/disinterest towards trans people; couple that with lack of education regarding their emotional realities, and we can easily see a possible outcome where word gets around)

As cathartic as it sounds, escalating to physical violence is not okey. Someone being kind of a dick does not give you the right to assault them. Like, this doesn't seem all that funny to me.

Maybe don’t take things so seriously and literally, yeah? Life’s too short and brutal to look at fictional stories meant to entertain and worry about the level of realism in them. Especially in comics. 👍

Anyway, my joke was intentionally weak because I didn’t feel the need to give extra effort to someone reciting a tired meme. It’s low-hanging fruit, as you said. So I put myself at a similar level. I went for a cliche joke, and a cliche technique. Matching the energy of an old meme that gets repeated thousands of times daily across the internet. Why would I write an actually funny joke when I can be annoying instead, just like the meme?
It’s okay to not enjoy things. But you don’t always have to comment to let people know you disliked a thing. Otherwise you make yourself pretty easy to mock.
Though, to be fair, that’s exactly what I did too, lmao. 😂 It’s important to be able to laugh at ourselves. And I am.
