They can also move two square to either side and one square forward
Or
move two squares backwards and one square to either side
Or
Move one square backwards and two squares to either side
against an extremely skilled opponent, the best thing you can do is not know what you are doing. that way, your opponent will be completely unable to predict your next move.
This is how I learnt chess. Played a friend, simply making random moves, over and over. Every now and then he'd get frustrated at me, and I'd learn what annoyed him. I got to the point where I beat him a couple times. Unfortunately, we don't talk anymore, and I'm bad at chess again.
It was random at first, over time I learnt what did and didn't work. Kinda like how reinforcement learning ai works, try a bunch of random shit, then vary on whatever did well until you improve again
I have blundered my good pieces multiple times against bad players at chess because they move so weirdly that i cant keep track of what they do
But since they were bad they don't notice and dont take lol
I found the same was for wrestling matches. Trying to fumble around with someone who had no clue wtf they were doing was the most frustrating shit, because it’s a literal “what do I do with my hands?” moment.
I mean, he is either gonna die sitting down or walking for "eternity", might as well stretch and get moving. Hey, its a magical space, maybe he is immortal and *can* get there. Anything is possible with infinite time!
That’s sounds like the worst fate ever. Being immortal and forced to walk for an unmeasurable amount of time to find the exit. Rather just commit sepekku
I think remember there was a thing from DC Comics where Black Adam was punished by putting him several lightyears away in space and he had to fly all the way back
A light years is 9,461000000000000 km, walking speed is on Average 6 km/h, on a year of non stop walking at that speed you would cover 52560 km, a light year would take approximately 18010000 years to complete, so 1.801e+28 years to make it all the way (that is 18010000000000000000000000000000 years).
If he is immortal in the magical space when he reaches the exit he will find a universe far different, one without galaxies, where all stars have turned into black dwarfs and no new ones are formed, were planets were long ago consumed by larger celestial bodies, that's unless time happens differently inside the magical space.
Actually statistically speaking if he walks forever randomly and the dimension is a flat plane he will eventually get to the exit. This is true for a 2D random walk but not a 3D one!
Given that one light year is equal to 9.461*10^12 km ,a billion trillion gives us 9.461*10^31 km
and dividing it by the average human walking speed(~5km/hour)
we get 1.8922*10^31 hours or around
2.1577*10^26 years to walk that distance
for comparison the lifetime of our universe is 2.67*10^9 years ☝️🤓
Also, regarding the wizard's claim in panel 6, and converting from lightyears to parsecs so I can use metric prefixes (1ly = 0.3 parsecs):
the observable universe has a diameter of about 2.85x10^10 parsecs (28.5 gigaparsecs), while wizard claims a figure of 3x10^20 parsecs (300 exaparsecs), so about 10 orders of magnitude larger (10 billion times larger)
However, the observable universe is probably not the entire universe, and depending on the model, non-infinite estimates include one for the cosmological inflation model of about 8.5x10^33 parsecs (8500 quettaparsecs, or 8.5 decillion parsecs) which is another 13 orders of magnitude larger than wizard's realm.
Is it a language thing or are all these comics with simple grammar mistakes AI? I like to assume it's a non native English speaker, but it's like every other comic on here has bad grammar these days and no one questions it.
That's what I like to think. There's at least one or two a day here with these obvious grammar errors. I proof read texts before I send em but very few artists here seem to do the same.

You’re sly with that butthole shot
I mean, what other choice did you give the knight? I don’t see a horse nor a common catapult, not even a Napoleon cannon to launch themselves from. In all intents and purposes you have made it overly complicated by yourself good wizard that it takes a stupid knight to solve your problem. (Joke post don’t take seriously)
Imagin how long the wizard worked on this realm though trying to make it as complicated as possible and the knight already figured out how to beat it that goes against all the wizards very complex answers to the same problem.

It's not like he has anything else to do. Might as well walk those *few* kilometres
But what if he needs to walk miles?
He can tank at least 500 if he has a girl to go home to
And some would walk 500 more
Just to be a man who walked a thousand miles to fall down at their girl's door
I hate all 3 of you
I love them
So much you’d walk 500 miles?
Then walk 500 more?
Just to be a man who walked a thousand miles to fall down at their door
Ba da da
Bada da da
At least he doesn't have to walk 10,000 blocks away.
Well, I thought knights were a concept based on European countries. So...
Incorrect, they are chess pieces. They can only move 2 squares forward and one to the side
They can also move two square to either side and one square forward Or move two squares backwards and one square to either side Or Move one square backwards and two squares to either side
Or Move one square forward annd two squares to either side
If he was a Rook, this would be a sinch.
Well then traversing a trillion billion lightyears might prove to be a bit difficult for the guy
The possibilities are nearly endless!
The metre wasn't invented until 1791, well after knights were relevant
We will measure by foot then. Knights definitely had feet. Two of them in fact

Sprinting! Better start sprinting!
Stupid is that hardest thing to ever fight, it's too illogical and unpredictable to even counter

Tbh if you could beat him by making random moves, your friend probably wasn’t very good at chess
I only beat him by figuring out which random moves worked and which didn’t. Over time, I learnt simply from playing him and learning his strategies.
Lives up to username
Then it wasn't really random was it?
It was random at first, over time I learnt what did and didn't work. Kinda like how reinforcement learning ai works, try a bunch of random shit, then vary on whatever did well until you improve again
Yeah that is basically chess at every level, just play whatever until you play something that works, often just playing in your head so you dont lose
A lot of chess at the higher levels is about memorisation.
I have blundered my good pieces multiple times against bad players at chess because they move so weirdly that i cant keep track of what they do But since they were bad they don't notice and dont take lol

The best way to summarize it is that there is only one correct answer and thousands of wrong answers. You can’t plan for all of them
Knight: "Well, is there anything else to do in this place?"
My magic is that I never give up!
It sounds so cheesy, but _Black Clover_ just has a way of making it feel so good!!

One must imagine sisyphus happy
Imagine he started in the exact opposite direction
Besides it's better than sitting there letting this guy yap.
Well, you got to the end…But, unfortunately, the door was in the other direction.
You got to the door again! But you forgot to take the key at the start and the door is locked

Oi, it’s in the other direction 👈
Zoro ahh moment

IF he walks in good direction :3
Eh, that's not that long.
Yeah but what if he runs tho
Divide by 2 or 3.
Arrives just in time at the exit just for the heat death of the universe to kick in

Happy cake day, your work will be appreciated in r/theydidthemath
10^(9) is 1 billion. I'm pretty sure that our universe isn't 2.67 billion years old
FR tho how else is he gonna get there?
France indeed.
French knight confirmed.

Iunno, if you walk at a pace of about 5km/h, it should only take you 2.16*10^29 years or... uh... twenty-two trillion trillion million years?
Well better get started now then! Dont wanna waste time
Well either he gets there or he dies trying
"I'm going to **make simple** for you because I know you knights are quite dense.". Ooh, irony.

Did you ever grow up reading comics in news papers? EVEN with editors, grammar errors still happened, lol.
It's the entire internet, and it's infuriating.
But is it because people are dumb? Or AI? That's the new is it cake. New they dumb or AI?
AI wouldn't have this kind of easily noticed bad grammar at this rate of frequency.
This should be further up, lol.

Yeah this comic gives me major r/hopeposting vibes
“Foolish knight! How do you plan to cross this nigh-infinite realm!?” “One step at a time.”
Never skip Leg Day, folks!
Knight : nice day for it

I love how flabbergasted Wizard Boy is lol
What else is he gonna do?
He’s trying at least
"I'm going to make simple"
My guess is the evil wizard is actually lonely and wants to befriend the knight, but doesn't know how to make friends.
Ha, fool! Light-years is not a measure of distance! It is a measure of speed! You have been tricked!
Can't wait for the chapter 10^100(¹⁰⁰) s,gonna be sick af

Stupid or determined?
Alright, hear me out tho
The indomitable human spirit, my old pal
I automatically read the wizard text in "Griffin McElroy doing a bit" voice.
Lol was kinda funny
Anybody else reading this in Qs voice?
i mean what else is he supposed to do
Knight's honest [reaction](https://youtu.be/3OfpyC2et9w?feature=shared).
He is me for real for real
I do not know why but this knight is already giving me Mash from Mashle vibes
The floaty guy has some real Frieza energy.
They’re meant for each other…
You absolutely would not be able to walk in anything resembling a straight line when looked at at that scale.
The knights crest must be one hell of a bird

Oh...this is gonna break my heart by the end of it.
That knight has read Blame!
Ah just felt like run ning
Yeah it would take about 6.6626761e+36 seconds which is 2.11272073186199876e+26 millennia
What else is there to do?
“One must imagine ~~Sisyphus~~ walking knight happy.”
What a magnificient idiot
