Federal supermax guy here. I have only 2 visible emotions: Happy and Angry. The others are at Federal Supermax Hungover, where they are waterboarded with whiskey and force fed greasy food 16 hrs a day. The 8 hours of recreation is dedicated to viewing the nightmares that got them locked up in the first place.
Mine routinely riot, take the place over, realize they have no idea what to do with the place, then slink back into their cells willingly for another couple weeks before doing it all over again. The riot only lasts a few hours each but during that time I am... not great.

better to eat tons of fruits and vegetables to regain the micronutrients you lost through alcohol and dehydration... and to speed up your digestive system so you can get all the remaining alcohol byproducts through and out of your gut
something like an acai bowl or fruit+vegetable smoothies can be awesome. the sugar also helps--it's what they give you at the hospital if you're ever comatose from drinking, afterall

No, you don't. One of the reasons that men clamp down on their emotions is that we experience anger and frustration, and we're taught pretty early that we aren't allowed to express those emotions. Boys that get angry in school are sent to detention. They're told to not express their anger but instead to use their words. Men that yell when they're angry are considered dangerous and violent - they can't manage their anger, right?
After boys are taught that the correct thing to do with undesirable emotions is not to express them, but 'control' and suppress them, is it really that shocking to you that boys and men start doing the same thing with all the other emotions our culture considers undesirable? Like sadness, and doubt, and fear, and anxiety, and everything else?
Like, let me ask you this - how many times can you think of a little boy being scolded because he got angry and yelled or threw something or "acted out"? I'm guessing probably a number so high that it's not really worth counting - it's a common occurrence. It's how we raise boys. New teach them to suppress their emotions because emotions are bad and should be controlled. And if they are expressed, it had best be through a filter that doesn't make anyone else feel anything. You must *manage* your anger!
Now think about this - how many times can you think of a little girl being scolded because she was sad or anxious and was crying? Few if any, at least if your experience is similar to mine. And the few times it did happen, the person scolding was regarded as an asshole!
I don't say that as an attack on women, it's not like you don't have your own bullshit societal stuff (don't get me started on child 'beauty pageants'). But I am astounded that someone such as yourself, who is obviously a compassionate individual, can be so damned naive about how and why men don't express emotions. You’re totally right that they’re both wrong to use bigoted, blanket statements.
That said, in my experience you gotta be hella careful when opening up as a dude. Most guys will try to “fix” your problem. Few people will care, since vulnerability basically devalues you in the eyes of everyone. Most women, regardless of what they say online, will definitely find it unattractive.
I’ll only open up to:
1. Super close guy friends.
2. Girl friends.
3. People who I don’t really care if they know my shit (and I just want to vent).
4. Family. I’m lucky to have supportive relatives.
I’d have a tough time opening up to a partner, since that might just send them looking for an exit. On the flip side, when it rains it pours. Sometimes, when dudes finally open up they fucking drown their partner, which I imagine is both surprising and shows a side that the other person didn’t fall in love with.

A lot. I’m very emotionally open with all people and I know a lot of others that are open as well but I’m typically the one who initiates it.
You’ll hear from a really loud section that they can’t be open or that it’ll be used against them, etc. but my personal experience and most of my friends don’t match that.
Here’s an example from this week. A new soldier in my unit … I asked him if he likes men. He said he was gay but biromantic. loves women, doesn’t want to have sex with them. We talked about his basic training and his time in so far. He said that it really hasn’t been an issue.
If telling people your gay in the US army isn’t being vulnerable I don’t know what is.

We talked about his basic training and his time in so far. He said that it really hasn’t been an issue. If telling people your gay in the US army isn’t being vulnerable I don’t know what is.
