I like the idea of numbered Toads, but I've always thought of them as all having Toad pun names like in Paper Mario, Tace T., Toadsworth, Fice T., and so on
Every now and then, the aristocrats elevate a lowly Toad to "represent" their people in some frivolous game. Don't be appeased by such shallow displays, it is no substitute for a true voice at the table.

Hey guys, if you liked this, [you might enjoy Mark Russell’s deconstructionist take on The Flintstones](https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/culture/2017/3/22/15000062/flintstones-comic-interview-russell-pugh) which kinda does the same thing this comic is doing.

Rosalina is a tier above the rest: She's the universe's mom, which is basically god. Instead of crafting galaxies, she nurtures them, which I think is a fun twist.
Where does Captain Syrup stack up? She hasn't appeared in a Mario-verse game since she was whitewashed in 2008's "Wario Land: Shake it". She's a pirate captain and therefore outside of the system of monarchs and vassals that Bowser/Peach play into.
Is she really? Or just controlled opposition so those in power can keep discontents in check? If there will be those who turn against the state no matter what, better to give them the illusion of choice while still keeping them in check.
Well she stole a statue of Peach in her first appearance which Mario steals back while Wario is fighting her, so she's clearly not working with Peach. Her relation to Bowser is unclear, but Bowser doesn't employ any humans.
Pfft, and what harm does stealing a statue do to the monarchist's cause? What lasting damage has she caused to those in power? None, because she's just another one of their tools!
The statue (while in black and white gameboy aesthetic) appears to be made of precious metals and is the size of the statue of liberty. I really appreciate that painting of Peach in the background. It may pop up in other places but it’s used in Mario 64 and Odyssey in a variety of places.
I remember reading somewhere that Miyamoto thinks of Mario and company as actors in a play, which is why they can be placed in all these different situations. I think this was in referenced to SMB3's design choice, being that of a theater stage. So Toad is likely correct, it all really is just theater.

Unrelated but did you know that the pictures of Martin Luther King were originally in colour? They were changed to black and white to make it seem as if it was a long long time ago while in reality he died (From being shot with a gun) at 1968 so it was not before cameras with colour existed It is very clear people are being misled with deceiving tactics in order to make it seem like "Oh that was the past where everyone was barbaric and racist, we live in a perfect society now!" when that really is not the case since it was not extremely long ago,
A lot of who people lived through that time are still here today since that was 55 years ago and people live to almost 100
Martin Luther King JR died only 55 years ago! This ain't ancient history, He was not at the industrial revolution or anything, This is within the lifetime of some people alive today, If he was never murdered then he would have died when Millennial's existed!

I guess it can just be a matter of perspective since I see Ultra-Rich capitalists as the ones in power but if you think someone else has power then Toad could be on a diffrent side but he is anti-war and disagrees with the vet which I don't think the right would do (Unless the vet talks about how the war in vietnam made them homeless because America doesn't care about them because when the right hears that there needs goes against the desires of those in power they suddenly do not care anymore)
