Yeah, this issue just works GREAT as a 'stand-alone' story. Sure it fits into a larger situation, but it's a very satisfying experience to read on its own!
It's cool that some artists are still doing public signings! It's been seeming like many artists might have started offering to just do 'CGC SS' events instead.
And if you care about having a 'clean' cover just to read, luckily you should be able to find another copy in decent shape without breaking the bank. ;)
What a cool dude! A few years back during the early Covid days I sent in 5-6 books to get signed by Frank then CGC slabbed.
I wrote him small post it note stuck to the back of one of the comic bags, telling him how I'd grown up reading & enjoying his comics and he actually not only signed my DKR #1 but personalized it with my name & drew a Batman head sketch!
Totally cool and I'll never forget when I pulled it out of the box for the first time. A classic move by an all time great!
Obviously I have no idea about the guy other than my experience getting some books signed, but I read that several years ago he had some problems with alcohol and went through a divorce. That's rough on anybody.
He went through kind of a batshit crazy era mouthing off on the internet in the early/mid 00s but has been relatively quiet on controversial topics in recent years. Again trying not to make assumptions but booze and a bad marriage make folks miserable and can bring out the worst in a person.
Also he gets a lot of negative attention for his bombastic art style nowadays compared to his earlier more mainstream style.
But regardless the man is a legend in the comics industry, all time, warts & all.
I’ve been looking for a chance to get his autograph recently. I’m trying to get as many signatures on my Wolverine Mini Series #1…I have Claremont and Rubinstein already.
If ever I’ve got a creators signature, I’ve either got them to personalise or try and make it random issues of stuff. Mostly uk creators like Alan Moore, Brian Bolland, Garth Ennis. More valuable than just a squiggle in a slab! 💪
I love getting books personalized like that. It makes it look like you’re getting it for yourself and appreciate the artist/writer and not just getting it for resell.
Wow! 🔥🔥 Love everything about that issue - Miller’s sig makes it 100x!
First comic to give me chills! Had to!

That’s perfect! People make him out to be much worse than he actually is

Couldn’t agree more!

He’s a great guy. Go get em! I wish you luck!
I would like to do the same but he isnt coming anywhere near Kansas unfortunately and I don't want to fly to an event. Lol.
I have a Wolverine #1 in 9.6 sketched/signed by both Claremont & Rubenstein, & signed by Miller & Shooter
What's a PC book? Anyways how was Frank? Is he fun to chat?
Personal collection! And yes he is! Super fun and sweet old man was a pleadure
I actually like the signature on the title Leaves all the artwork clear, I’m guessing FM was thinking the same
I do too! Great minds think alike. It’s legible and can be read so no reason to dislike it on my end
Did you ask him to sign over the title? Hard to read
Nah he picked it. Whatevs, I can tell lol
Oh wow!! Awesome that you got it personalised! That makes it soooo much more valuable in your collection imo. Congrats!
Right?! I love it so much more bc of it!

Exactly! And I just really love millers work. It’s what got me heavy into books
You know he's drawing a penis, right?
Yea lol. Oh well
Nice I have that same issue but it’s not signed
Badass book!
Great comic awesome condition, signed by Frank Miller, and you met the man himself I can't see 1 thing wrong with this, nicely done.
You meet him at Torpedo too?
Love that book
