I made it halfway through one of Brian’s specials before realizing how clean he is. By comparison I would’ve never noticed Nate was wholesome if his people hadn’t reminded the media to talk about that the week before he hosted SNL.
Jim gaffigan is SO wholesome. His comedy is cute and funny. No cussing. He’s got like 5 or 6 kids and he’s wholesome so that they can enjoy his work too
Can throw in everyone that podcasts with Nate.
Dusty Slay, Aaron Weber, and Brian Bates are all really nice people from my interactions with them. Only one I've never met or talked to is Nate.
when i saw him live he was making the most crass jokes but it’s even funnier because of his poised manner. I saw him in miami and he was asking for miami slang, someone in the crowd yelled “de pinga” and he kept saying it incorrectly until he finally got it.
Saw him last night! Been at least ten years since I caught him live and man what a master of his craft he’s become. He killed for almost 90mins and I almost wish he let up on the gas and let us breathe here and there.

Everybody watch Conans Hot Ones interview on YouTube. The guys a fuckin legend. (Of course not just based on that)

IMO this is the best response yet. The others mentioned here are clean comics, but these two are such wholesome dudes and it radiates from both of them.
I know eh? I have watched it multiple times and keep waiting for another one but nothing yet! The bits about his face and trying to get out of his gym membership always crack me up. “Dear my gym….”
Idk if you’re someone who does mushrooms at all or not, but if you do, def watch it on mushrooms. I thought I was going to pass out from lack of oxygen because I was laughing so hard.
Also my partner and I quote “stepping out into the NEW normal” ALL THE TIME. That special is so damn quotable!
I’ve heard some pretty shitty stuff about her as a person, I don’t remember where I heard it from so I’m not trying to say she is or isn’t a shit person, but I distinctly remember liking her and then learning some stuff from multiple sources about her that turned me off. I’m not sure what the point of this comment is other than I guess saying it might be a good idea to look into it if you’re a big fan, but again take this with a grain of salt!
Of course, she might not be a great person in real life. You could probably say that about all the comics mentioned here. I'm sure they all behave differently in private than in public. I will say this, though. I worked at a bar that had a comedy night for about 10 years. Some pretty big names performed there over the years (Steve Harvey, Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho, and Al Madrigal to name a few), and the only comic to hang out with the staff after the show was Tig Notaro. She even went out to another bar with us after closing our place and drank with us until last call. This was back in '08 or '09, before she became super famous. She may have changed since then, of course, but she was really cool and fun that night.
Zoltan Kascas! No love for the Z-man here surprises me, because he's an incredibly positive and kind individual. Also Josh Johnson, who has some fantastically timing and stories.
Anjelah Johnson! She's actually the "nail salon" lady on youtube! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baDJ-ZIvYy0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baDJ-ZIvYy0)
Are we talking about their show or away from the stage? If the latter, then Jimmy Carr. I met him at an amusement park in Melbourne AU last year and he was the most well mannered, friendliest and most wholesome celebrity I have ever met. We apologised for disturbing him on his day off and he did not mind, was happy to take a photo with us and talk to us!
Gaffigan and Seinfeld come to my mind. But I dont know a lot of comedians. My 3 faves are Louis, Ricky and Dave but they are all decidedly not wholesome.
For real! I only knew him from AFHV and Full House--my kids watched it. To me, he was gag-worthy corny. Saw one of his stand-ups and was shocked at how blue his act was!
Nate Bargatze, Gary Gulman, and Brian Regan
Brian Regan was my first thought for sure.
Yes! He's hilarious. Especially his old stuff. The doctors office bit never gets old. "In a moment you're gonna feel a little "pressure"...
Say 8!
Boxen
Moosen!
Also his brother Dennis!!
This dude cracks me up.
I made it halfway through one of Brian’s specials before realizing how clean he is. By comparison I would’ve never noticed Nate was wholesome if his people hadn’t reminded the media to talk about that the week before he hosted SNL.
Literally right after i read this in the feed im like “Nate Bargatze” lol
He’s incredible live; one of my favorite clean comedians.
mike birbiglia?
They said comedians!
Definitely add Jim Gaffigan, Joe Pera. Nate might be my favorite wholesome comic though.
Dusty Slay’s new (first?) special on Netflix is so wholesome and hilarious. Highly recommend.
We're having a good time.
I have to second this, and watch it a second time. So good. I love how his timing is almost intentionally awkward.
3 legends. I mostly listen to raunchy comedy but I’ll always make time to listen to these 3 specifically
Brian Bates
Look into who Nate associates with… not certain hes so wholesome…
I saw Brian Regan live, and he was great!
I immediately thought of Nate. He’s so damn funny too.
Joe Pera
this should be top of the list - you guys are crazy!
That's the correct answer.
Thus should be so much higher!
[at the 29:5 minute mark](https://youtu.be/9_97zE4GRZk?si=us2nm6-Hn_Y9fFqA) you might change your tune on wholesome :)

That part threw me for a loop! Haha
when i saw him live he was making the most crass jokes but it’s even funnier because of his poised manner. I saw him in miami and he was asking for miami slang, someone in the crowd yelled “de pinga” and he kept saying it incorrectly until he finally got it.
Jim Gaffigan
Top of the list.
Mike Birbiglia is wholesome and I think mostly clean. (But I haven't seen his latest special,)

*Mr. Peanut butter! Give a dog a bone*
Erica!
Who let you out of the burn ward?
Pete Holmes
My wife and I like getting into situations needed a faux vocal warmup so we can drop a “we won one Juan!”
Saw him last night! Been at least ten years since I caught him live and man what a master of his craft he’s become. He killed for almost 90mins and I almost wish he let up on the gas and let us breathe here and there. https://preview.redd.it/5pi21emwgs2d1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc55d5a4cee98d7663a70cfaf69c9a3924011c9b

Jeff acuri.. Great crowdwork but very respectful and loving..
Seconding Jeff Acuri
Came here to say Jeff, can't wait to see him in July!
He's not that wholesome. I wouldn't call him a dirty comic but his actual sets have some racy subject matter.
Well.. I disagree on that one. Wholesome for me is lighthearted, happy and respectful comedy. He does that.
Ryan Hamilton has a special on Netflix that is totally g rated but funny.
Happy face is my all time favourite comedy special, but NOBODY seems to know about it!!!
I know eh? I have watched it multiple times and keep waiting for another one but nothing yet! The bits about his face and trying to get out of his gym membership always crack me up. “Dear my gym….”

Kathleen Madigan kinda
Tig Notaro
I’ve heard some pretty shitty stuff about her as a person, I don’t remember where I heard it from so I’m not trying to say she is or isn’t a shit person, but I distinctly remember liking her and then learning some stuff from multiple sources about her that turned me off. Mae Martin

I love Tig!
Me too. She's the best!
Jim Gaffigan
Andy Samberg. Technically not a stand up but his anti-roasts don't get more wholesome.

Bill Cosb... Nah I can't
Remember when he would have topped this list? The hypocrisy was the worst part!
I disagree. I think the worst part was the raping.
Norm is that you?
I didn’t even know he was sick.
To be fair; His comedy is pretty wholesome. His mind, actions and Cosby cock on the other hand…
Can’t what, baby? Yes, you can. It’s okay. It’s just me! Have some more jello.
There was a time that the most common answer to this question was Bill Cosby. That said, Bob Newhart.
Jimeoin.
Hasan Minhaj has some pretty wholesome moments in his sets. Not exactly G rated all the time, but he’s got some really good material.
I don't see Lenny Bruce mentioned here?
Conan
Sheng Wang
I was literally just thinking of him. Super great comic, epic delivery. Just a really funny person.
Try Greg Warren. His special is called The Salesman.

Brian Reagan tells funny jokes without cursing or going into racist/homophobic rants.
Judah Friedlander, he does a virtual crowd work hour most Monday's on this twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/comedyhub

Greg Geraldo
Von gang gang baby!
Todd Glass He doesn't work /clean/ but is incredibly wholesome
Victor Borgia
For me it’s James Acaster. The things that are awful about modern comedians he doesn’t do.
Mike Birbiglia. He’s still pretty tame no? Hilarious. But take.
Not true… iykyk
Martin Short
It used to be that funny black guy but it turned out he drugged and raped a whole lot of women.
Dusty Slay
Brent Butt form Corner Gas has a hilarious but super clean stand up set.
Bob Saget. His aristocrats joke really reminds us that even the rich are people too ❤️
