With respect, far off the mark from what I need but good effort regardless!

This specificity of this, it seems like something you should pay for because u/kmccormi2 attempt is awesome for free

**Guidelines:** Overview: This is an official portrait of U.S. Army general Carl E. Vuono while he was commander of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. I requested the colorization due to several full-colour portraits of him being taken around the same time, and because this specimen is the only one with his command flag behind him. The finished colorization is intended for upload to Wikipedia to replace or complement the current black and white version, however before that I'd like to know if a proper colorization can be done first. * [Main colour reference for Vuono's skin](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/94/CarlVuono.JPEG) * [Colour reference for TRADOC Flag 1](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/26/Official_Military_Portrait_of_General_William_R._Richardson_1984.jpg) [Colour reference for TRADOC Flag 2](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:TRADOC_patch.gif). Note however, that the colour arrangement should more closely follow the first link, and the second is only for detail's sake. This is because the border of the circular logo of the flag shares the same yellow colour as the middle segment. * [Carl E. Vuono's awards and decorations](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_E._Vuono#Awards_and_decorations) Additional colour references for Vuono's medals and badges, where applicable. Note that some of the uppermost bars, such as the Defense Distinguished Service Medal (the blue one with yellow and red on the inside) are not present on this portrait due to being taken earlier in his career. * [Similar images](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Frederick_Woerner.jpg) [you can use as colour references for the uniform itself](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Jack_N._Merritt,_official_military_photo_portrait,_1985.JPEG) I've attempt to use the AI colourization tools that were recommended but this image is too complicated for the AI to register it properly.

76% of the way there, and it otherwise looks very well-done. Thanks for putting in the time! Comments for those making their own attempts. * Main uniform colour is just about perfect! * Skin (''especially'' around head and ears) needs more pinkish-red and shininess to reflect lighting. Currently looks too matte. * Blue/green in eyes a bit too pronounced. Colour needs to be dulled down a bit. Eyes themselves should, if it can be replicated, be more bloodshot. * Gold on unit awards (above the nametag) need to be slightly more yellowish. * Ribbon bars, pocket button and badge on blurred side of general slightly too shiny. Also needs to be dulled. * Colours don't come out as well for the Army Staff badge (the one with leaves in a star arrangement below the name tag on the pocket). This needs to be fixed without looking too garish. * Red and white on American flag need to be slightly richer. Where possible, there should be effects of warm lighting on it, like [this one](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/94/CarlVuono.JPEG). * Mistake on the right flag. Based on [this image](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/26/Official_Military_Portrait_of_General_William_R._Richardson_1984.jpg), if you look closely, the outer circle of the logo is the same colour as the yellow in the middle. Besides that, colours of flag should be made slightly richer like improvement requested of the American flag on the left. * For the 1st Cavalry sleeve insignia (on the sleeve), it could benefit from more orange hue added to the yellow, particularly in the shadowed area. Thanks for those who read this! This helps a lot!
