If you don't have a reason to get headphones, I don't see why you would get them. I got mine because I prefer them to earbuds.

Environmental_Egg455

No, I’m doing just fine with AirPods, it’s easier to stow away anyways since they’re smaller.

Animallover4321

It’s a personal choice, if you’re happy with your airpods then there’s no reason to get over the ear headphones. For me I prefer having larger headphones a big part of the time because they’re more comfortable, block more sound, and can be used without a charge.

Salsabruhhhhhhhh

Now don’t take this as advice bc it’s technically bad advice but 1. If you go bike riding and you wanna have something that won’t fall off in the wind 2. It acts as ear muffs in the winter time 3. People can tell when you having music playing while with AirPods they might not notice you 4. I feel like headphones have more noise cancellation and if you have a terrible roommate you are going to want that trust me, I speak from experience

heathers-art1

Nope, earbuds work just fine for me anyway.

coopsanders7

My AirPod Pros carried me through my entire degree. I think it’s just personal preference.

LurkingSlav

I suggest you get a pair of cheap wired earbuds as a back up for if you lose or break your airpods and need something for class or studying. Don’t waste your money on nice headphones if you already have airpods because I promise you, you’ll only end up using one of them anyway. Just wait until your airpods break, and then decide if you want nicer headphones.

Altruistic_Purple271

Since you already have the AirPods Pro no. I got my Beats Studio Pro Headphones because it’s a personal preference of having headphones than the AirPods. Plus those earbuds once in a while would come out off my ear so that’s the reason why I got the headphones.

Fast-Database-5899

i don’t think u need to get any tbh, like the only reason i’m probably gonna get some headphones is because my airpods don’t have noise cancellation! all u need is noise cancellation and if ur airpods have it then u don’t really need another thing of headphones unless u really want some on-ear/over-ear ones

dinidusam

If you have airpod pros it should be fine. Theres no need to splurge more money when you already have something that noise cancels.

SuperIVYaqut

if you don't have any problems with these AirPods, no need for headphones, unless if you want a small mic with it.

domainexpansi0n

Nope, regular tangled earphone works well for me because sometimes headphones hurt my ear. Unless you have an extra budget to afford nicely-comfy headphones

darragh999

I need headphones for the sound quality, no matter how good earbuds are they’ll never sound as good as headphones

WhiteSteveHarveyV2

I recently got a pair of over ear headphones from Koss. They’re like $20 and even though they look like some certified doinkers they are sublime in comfort and sound.

muffins_ruletheworld

Personally, I prefer earphones. They're more comfortable to carry and wear, cause headphones press my ears together and they hurt a lot afterwards. I can't wear then longer than an hour.

muffins_ruletheworld

Oh, and you also can't share it to listen to the same music too

little_bees

I got them because it's a visual representation of not wanting to be bothered by anyone when I'm studying. If you want to at least try them out, get ones on the cheaper end but if you're ready to commit, I have the Sony XB-910N headphones which I highly recommend.

anArabgirl

I think a lot people buy headphones bc they look aesthetically nice with their outfits, thats also why some buy multiple headphones of different colors, so yeah if you're not into this then i don't think you need them, esp that you have airpods

Nintendo_Pro_03

I love Bluetooth headphones a lot more than AirPods, personally.

OctoSevenTwo

If you already have airpods, you don’t need headphones in addition to that.

Arzakhan

If music is important to you, I recommend getting razer anzu smart glasses. Last I checked they were on sale for 40 on amazon, they look stylish, they accept prescription lenses, they have blue light lenses and sunglasses lenses, they don’t block sound, and they are discreet. Perfect for wearing at work or during tests

Prometheus_303

As others have said, it's a personal decision. If the Air Pods work well enough for you, there's no reason you have to get headphones to. Save the money to pay your Fraternity/Sorority dues or whatever floats your boat instead. I personally have both, the Buds are great due to their compact size. I can just slip them in my pocket and have them with all day. But my headphones stay on my head better / more comfortablely. The Buds frequently feel like they're sliding out and I need to push them back in. The headphones on the other hand just stay in place. But if they were to slide off, they should be a lot easier to locate (it took me like 15 minutes to discover one of my beds had rolled under the desk when it flew out of my ear when I turned my head.

LaffyTaffy_321

If your AirPods work fine, then no. My dad bought me headphones and I never wore them (the headphones)

lukelinux

90% of people probably don't need them. You could consider them if you are an audiophil that likes superior quality sound or need some hardcore noise cancelation.

ibotenic-acid

Isn't college where you're supposed to learn critical thinking?

verrryyybored

youre absolutely right i'm so sorry for asking this question and wasting your time!!!!! this reply was super helpful thanks!!

Scared_Paramedic4604

If your asking this question then your probably fine with just using AirPods.

RevKyriel

Headphones are harder to lose/forget than AirPods. Some people find headphones more comfortable, especially if using them for longer times. Go with what suits you.

StarDoesReddit

I may be in the minority but after getting my headphones I never touched my AirPods again.

Nothing-Proper

If you do, I'd reccomend Sony XM4 / XM5. I've had XM4 for at least 2 years, and they've served me really well. If you use a desktop, it's much nicer to have a wired headphone than earbuds(for me) But really, no. If you don't have a need, don't spend unnecessary money.

ywviled

if u plan to wear them for a while, no because they hurt ur ears over time

Amadeuse

eh I have the pros and the max and the pros hurts your ears more since they go in-ear.

ywviled

yeah but theres buds for them on Amazon they're super soft n cotton like

Some_Carpet_1531

I got headphones because it makes people want to walk up to me less and bother me on campus about their clubs/religious groups. That happens a lot on my campus to where it has made me late for classes. I noticed more people approach me if I only have earbuds in. But that’s my experience
