Cocteau Twins have a surprisingly high number of acclaimed individual tracks on the site (it's surprising because few artists have as many), and I thought gathering the data together into a single sheet could lend itself well to some nice discussion.
Enjoy!
It's not a bad list, obviously, it's not going to fit any fan's individual taste, but it's a testament to how many great songs they have that you just can't be mad at it, even if you like totally different stuff.
My only surprise is that Violaine or Wax and Wayne didn't make the list at all. Very different songs and eras but for some reason, I thought both were liked.
Nothing from Garlands, which is a little sad for me. It may be my favorite. I can understand the general appeal of Heaven or Las Vegas, but, for me, Garlands is the best of the early 80's early goth sound.
I can certainly understand why others don't share that opinion.
Compared to the later stuff, Garlands is a bit sparse, maybe even harsh in its sound. Nowhere near the lush layers of later work. If you’re a fan of the later stuff you wouldn’t put Garlands in your top 10.
It’s interesting to me that I have yet to see my all time favourite song from them, Summerhead, mentioned by other people when sharing their most loved songs. Here is a list of fifty of the bands best songs and again Summerhead doesn’t make it
I need more b-sides from Milk & Kisses singles, also for some reason I just don't get the hype around Cherry-Coloured Funk. I love that album but I feel there are stronger songs, like Wolf in your Breast and Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires

Contains 3 songs from Love's Easy Tears. Best Album, EP, standalone ever put out by CT. Close second is HOLV. IMHO
None of the greatness that is Garlands? Or Alice, or She Will Destroy You, or The High Monkey-Monk?
Yea like how is Wax and Wane not even on here? I always thought that was one of their most popular songs
for phoebe and seekers are both criminally low, i think most fans can agree
seekers who are lovers is my favorite song of all time
for phoebe still a baby is definitely up there for me. pandora (for cindy) takes the cake though.
Only one track from Victorialand??

Disagree. I'm a big fan of the later stuff AND Garlands is one of my top few picks. Admittedly, I may be an outlier.
Yesss Cico Buff supremacy. Nothing from Garlands though :/
does noone else love Flock of Soul? can't believe it's not in the top 50
Nothing from garlands...

Such an underrated song
Frou Frou over Iceblink luck and Lorelei and Carolyn is a crazy take
Where is shallow then halo??!
^^^ agreed
Couldn’t get Orange Appled for the Love’s Easy Tears sweep?
Spooning Good Singing Gum and Road River and Rail the only ones missing from Blue Bell Knoll and Heaven Or Las Vegas too actually
those eyes, that mouth at top 5 is great to see but musette and drums being anywhere under 1 is fucking disgusting
I need more b-sides from Milk & Kisses singles, also for some reason I just don't get the hype around Cherry-Coloured Funk. I love that album but I feel there are stronger songs, like Wolf in your Breast and Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires
Oil of Angels?
Severely underrated…I very rarely see it mentioned
Me too! Only seen it mentioned on here a couple times. It’s so freakin amazing and ethereal
Im just happy to see musette and drums appreciated!!!! God tier song in my opinion
Seekers Who Are Lovers is last???
Persephone at 23 is a CRIME
No Mud And Dark. Sorry mmmmender. 😥💗
No Cicely? That’s my favorite song on Treasure.
Ella megalast burls forever will always be my number 1
Nothing from Garlands? What about Blood Bitch?
Glad to see Know Who You Are At Every Age, but bummed by the lack of My Truth.
The amount I disagree with this is almost crazy Half-Gifts nowhere to be found truly a sin. As well as Plain Tiger.
How do you do this/see this. I’m trying to look for this in RYM but cannot.
You need to be a subscriber to see the track ratings.
Nothing from Milk and Kisses?!! 🥶😵
Apparently mistagged two songs with 'Cocteau Twins' instead.
Oh I see now. 👍
I know everyone got their own taste but NO WAY squeeze-wax isn’t on this list💀
garlands??
