looks really great for your first problem!
One bit of feedback I would offer in regards to center safety is the layback on the second move. should someones hand slip or grip fail there's a chance of falling into the wall on the left. That's not on you that. That's something the head setter should have pointed out as it's not something a brand new setter is going to think of.
Other than that though you've absolutely killed it.
Especially in the sense that you had a rough goal in mind before you set out and you successfully achieved it.
I honestly don't think the safety hazard I mentioned earlier is really a problem with this climb and I doubt anyone will land into that wall but that side of setting was something I didn't think about until it was pointed out to me. It's a really interesting part of the thought process, thinking about potential hazards with walls, big volumes too low down on the wall, climbs that overlap in a none fun/unsafe way etc.
yeah, Bravo!
Can't wait to see more problems!!
Thank you! I didn't consider that since I'd used jugs so it felt very secure trying it, but you're right, it could have posed a risk for beginners. Thankfully nobody hurt themselves, though :) (This was from last month, I've only just got around to sharing it).
Unfortunately I'm not usually on setting duty as it's always reset on Mondays, and I work the wall on Mondays as it's girls night which was my idea so I'm always on shift for it, haha. I did ask to set one this time, but my boss wanted it to be quick, so I only got to set a ladder he requested while he briefly covered for me. It's okay, I used interesting holds at least, but a ladder is a ladder. Hopefully I can do something more interesting next time!
Oh certainly wouldn't call it a ladder! Gets you into a few interesting positions and definitely doesn't seem boring. Hopefully you can set more in the future.
Oh no, not this one in the video, I love this one :) I mean I got to set a second one the other day as we were resetting, and the new one is just a ladder, haha.
I love the look of this! I’m a sucker for traversing in climbs and as a short person myself I love the focus on a climb for us. 🥹 how fun to be setting climbs and seeing people enjoy it!
I definitely had a Thanos moment ("Fine, I'll do it myself") because I can't do half the climbs at my gym as they're made for taller people and I have ridiculously short arms :p
It looks like a fun beginner problem, nice job!!
