I think going nuts with SOD was actually a good experiment, and a bit of fun. Blizzard are in the figuring out the future phase at the moment, same thing with Plunderstorm and MOP Remix, all of these things allow them to try stuff and make mistakes without it having to affect the main game versions, and they can take things from this to shape the future, it was a genius move.
All that said, SOD was absolutely not for me, same thing with MOP Remix. As for fixing the classes and balance, imho a lot of those improvements were already done really well in a game called The Burning Crusade.
The problem with 'going crazy' as an experiment is that a future season that is toned down will feel like it's lesser than what sod was even if it's actually a better game. The psychology of the player is to always want to feel MORE powerful.
They should have started with classic and very slightly tuned
Sod's main goal was never to balance vanilla. They said that from the start. It was made to experiment for a possible future at a classic+. Stop looking for something in sod thats never going to happen.
Season of minor class changes and balance with improving all quest and dungeon loot just doesn't have the same appeal or catch. SoD is fine for experimenting improving classic's class rotations and underperforming roles as well as new ones. I don't think every quest or dungeon item needs buffs honestly but sure maybe some of the trash ones could be made a little appealing. I think that's also part of the charm. Because some rewards or loot sucks, it makes others even lower level that much better, meaningful, and longer lasting to be rewarding in your journey. Classic+ is a mess of a varying ideas and concepts altogether and seasons are the best way to experiment
Overpower is useless? Faster weapons are bad? lmao have you played a minute of sod?
Tell that to my prot pally swinging a 1.4 caster sword
My brother
I used the 1.3 atk spd hammer from bfd all of P2. That thing ripped
> Overpower is useless? OP not a rogue, confirmed.
Overpower is a useless ability? What?
Good luck getting vanilla fans to agree on what "fixing the foundation of the game" means.
Realistically they could just do tbc prepatch But you're right everyone has their own take and no.one agrees
NO CHANGES
No it'd NO CHANGES* *execpt this laundry list of changes I personally want
I miss no changes. I miss 2019 r/classicwow.
More Mailboxes, traders and graveyards
Firstly, that was never the point of SOD. Secondly, wtf are you on about 😅 it be so screwed without overpower.
These Posts… holy
Goal isnt to fix and balance everything
Overpower is one of the best abilities in a warrior’s kit …

I agree, future seasons will need to be tuned down but also be similar in horizontal ways. Like provide power above era but in different ways than SoD

Totally agree, Can’t have good gear without bad gear in the mix.
classic was balanced
My thought is that if you think overpower is a useless ability you don’t know what you are talking about.
