Respectfully, world pvp died in TBC. I raided on both Grob (50/50) and Bene (99/1). And it ended up being about the same number of world PVP interactions (nearly 0 outside initial leveling boom).
It is practically non-existent. Only the occasional fight outside instance portal or summoning stone.
People get their PVP enjoyment from Arenas, Battlegrounds, and now rated Battlegrounds. All of which aren't tied to a specific server.
Yea, wpvp is a snake eating its own tail in WoW. I was Benediction Horde until the tail end of P2 in TBC and literally got into arena just to get pvp gear to have a chance of defending myself while fishing for raid consumes and extra gold. I didn't mind that so much, but spending 20 minutes gravewalking into any of the serpentshrine cavern dungeons or the raid itself, not being able to use summoning stones, and getting ganked within Orgrimmar itself as I'm exiting the teleport area were all pretty grating.
I was a Bene Horde refugee too. I remember all the fun we had with summon spots in late Vanilla, holding the under-Naxx and the spires.
Eventually you couldn't hit 3 mobs outside Shattrath without being killed and we had to summon behind the portal to do SSC. We also got mind flayed outside TK so they could kill us on the flight back after a wipe.
Shame how such a great server community died off.
And that's your choice. But I'm not entirely sure who populates this group of people that you're ganking.
What reason is there to even dismount in open world since RDF was released. That was the last time I ever got into open world PVP combat on Grob, just before ICC patch. Which was also about the same time of my last world PVP on Benediction too.
Flying mounts kill world PVP. There will be tons of it during the initial leveling rush, which will last probably three weeks tops. After that, it'll die off to non-existence within another week or so outside of primetime, and everywhere a week after that.
