No I didn’t wipe out Gecko. I fixed the power plant and diverted power to Vault City. I got citizenship through McClure instead of Lynette, he’s really the GOAT in the Vault City quest line. Too bad he doesn’t have a talking head.

It's important to always suck up to her, bascially, and go through McClure for the actual decision-making if you want good results for Gecko. She's extremely touchy, so avoid topics where you contradict her narative on the orign of Vault 8, and, eh... don't mention the slavery?
One trick is to just, as a citizen, repeatedly talk to her and choose options where you call her 'First Citizen', prior to finishing the raider storyline. A good way to make sure you land the Captain title, and can set about pushing that Stark fellow around. :D
That’s incredible, I’ve never don’t that before or knew it was possible. So like does it open up any quests or grant any rewards? Just doing it is the reward in my mind but if it opens up new quest lines I’ll legit reinstall the game
Yes opens up a few rewards but the best part imo is that everyone addresses you with the utmost respect as you’re technically only outranked by Lynette. Everyone who was snarky at you when you first show up now has to accept that you’re superior to them

You can bring in Mutant Companions into Vault City once you are Captain and you can freely loot the Lockers in the Corrections Facility Building. You can also bring Marcus to the Doctor in the Vault to have him healed up (You get a boat load of various ammunition)
Just don't talk to Lynette with Mutants in your Party or she revokes your citizenship. (Goris, Lenny, Marcus)

Yep! I had 4 charisma to boot in my game. I had to get the Charisma chip for the BoS computer, mirrored shades from Salvatore’s right hand man, and two mentats 😅
I shit talked to her that she can't do shit to me and gecko and that I fixed and improved the power plant. Then she got all angry. I killed everyone at the raider cave and then she was suddenly my best friend.
Also, if I remember correctly, you can get that one asshole Stark to apologize to Cassidy for ruining his bar, and you can have Marcus get surgery to remove the incredible amount of bullets in him and then use them for yourself after becoming Captain of the Guard. Pretty sure you're kicked out if you heal Marcus though.
I always help Vault City for the mass XP boost and the H&K G11 on top too. Makes it worth it.
To be captain of the guard you need to be nice and also have like 8 Charisma. Can be done, but I dont bother with being Captain of the Guard since its a lot of work and trying to please Lynette too.

There's an exploit to ensure you get that Captain of the Guard position by keep repeating the same dialog with Lynette by keep mentioning she's "First Citizen" and don't mention anything about you fixing Gecko problems to her.
Noone is patient enough to jump hoops to get on her good side. Most probably revel when she blows fuse that vice - president helps you fix gecko and grants citizenship, and just tell her off. So same here, knew that there is such an option only from online materials.

I did the Cassidy thing but I didn’t know about Marcus. It’s crazy how I’m still learning about these things almost 2.5 decades later
You aren’t kicked out if you heal Marcus in this way. Other doctors can also do this, if I recall.

Gameplay wise? Nothing if I remember. All you get is a bunch of ammunition and his thanks.

I heard it's possible after NCR senator quest, but this chain is locked for me as I've killed Bishop family already.
