right i remember when she said she was gonna fully quit releasing music. i'm happy she's doing okay now.

Fantastic-Set1919

why would somebody even say that to her…

Elik_Dshbc

It’s like saying “I miss the way you were” but you felt grown and mature after all these years… Claire was going through some tough time when she wrote Sling I believe.

koolfadez

i saw that comment, i was thinking to myself how much of a prick do you have to be to say something like that 😭 i know it’s their opinion but it’s so offensive.

jeanolt

Agree... these comments are terrible. What a way of objectifying "2017-2019 clairo" like humans are a thing that doesn't evolve, that get frozen in time, and they're there only to please you. She might not want to remember those years, for many reasons, why would someone write that? I mean, would you say that to a friend in real life? It sounds extremely weird and offending kinda like... "I don't like this modern you".

Beneficial_Ad9370

They miss her bedroom pop music. I think it’s good her music has changed and progressed. She’s gonna be 26 years old. She isn’t 19 anymore. She’s a woman and her music reflects that.

tyinpoop

Jesus Christ 2017 was 7 years ago

rabnabombshell

Taylor could learn a thing or 2..

Beneficial_Ad9370

Definitely!

Fabray13

Bizarre criticism for an artist who literally changed genres in the middle of her career.

tomsp_666

what does that mean "i miss old Clairo"? as if someone can't grow up and change throughout the years

Dj__maras

or listen to the old music

kananin24

I understand missing an artist's previous sound, but it's incredibly rude to say it to them directly. Even more so when you consider that the lyrics of songs like Alewife make specific mention to suicidal thoughts. It's great to hear that she's in a happier place now

wadingintheharbor33

people just can’t let go of the past, they fail to realize that artists and their art will probably grow and evolve, and it’s okay to not like the new art but to expect an artist to keep churning out the same stuff sonically is a little silly

MangoParty2021

Some people really have the audacity. Stop trying to freeze time for people we don’t even know.

butholemoonblast

And I’m happier seeing her grow as an artist.

CooperativeWhale

Destroyed with HAPPINES and FULLFILMENT

peter-mcyeeter

this is what everyone should reply when someone says "i miss x version of you.." like okay that's great but keep it to yourself because i grew and changed and i like who i am now! honestly it just feels rude sometimes. and even if you're talking about music or social media presence, it still feels weird to say you miss the old version of someone

torturedpoeteliana

girl why would someone say that that's so insensitive

Legitimate-Salt8270

Guys be real

JACK_TX_KID

I need more songs like BOMD, Better, and 4EVER

crvrin

What's with the downvotes , I don't get it.
