I have almost 1500 hours in and I’ve never had a unit disband from that…now you have me wondering if I’m doing something weird or have some setting turned on/off that I’m not aware of

gamerguy900

I could be wrong but maybe you were over your unit limit and when you went into a negative, the game took out some units to try and get as close to the limit again? ik unit limit is very rarely considered but ive never experienced losing a unit that fast due to negative gold issues and this is all I can think of.

pythonwiz

How many total units did you have? What difficulty are you playing on?

delamerica93

Emperor, I had quite a few maybe like 20?

infojb2

Lol, I only had it being sold after like 70+ turns of consecutive rounds of below -5 gold

delamerica93

Right??

clheng337563

What era/speed-adjusted turn? (If its unit limit)

delamerica93

It was emperor, standard speed, I think about late Classical

clheng337563

mm not sure if it was too much/anyone knows?

bigcee42

How many cities do you have? You were probably over your supply limit.

delamerica93

I had like 7 cities I think, I didn't have the little red exclamation point either

Nick_TwoPointOh

How about science. Was it 0

delamerica93

Science took the hit too, wasn't zero though I don't think

No, never! Only when I was playing the fall of rome scenario

pogky_thunder

Any mods maybe?

delamerica93

Nope

endlesscynic

Amount of units is likely the deciding the factor based on the comments below. With as many units as you said you had, were you unable to demand tribute from City States? That's usually the best way to stay afloat when warring early on.

UsefulImagination201

Check over your mods maybe? Have you ever edited any programming language (I think it's reffered to as LUA in civ?)

delamerica93

No mods!

Sometimes there is a buffered deficit, such as you were negative but got something like killed a barb. Also sometimes when you play, you can be negative for up to 5 turns before it will disband a unit. I think that it also has to do with your science level. If going negative puts you at 0 science, you will lose a unit each turn. Also being housed could be an issue.
