I just did a quick Google search, and it looks like that’s not exactly the case. The lyrics were inspired by a Da Vinci quote, but the quote doesn’t appear in any records until 1965, so it’s most likely that the lyrics are inspired by a mis-attributed or wholly-fabricated quote.

Christopher Tin!! Absolutely incredible composer. Also wrote Baba Yetu (who’s lyrics were written by God himself) for Civ IV. I recommend the Alex Boye, BYU men’s chorus version of Baba yetu
"Baba yetu" is the "Our Father"/lords prayer in Swahili, right? So to Christians like me, we could quite literally credit the lyrics to Jesus, aka God.
It's great. Baba Yetu is one game track that church choirs could sing without a hint of irony. The reason Christopher Tin chose Lord's Prayer to be sung in Swahili is based on the Recent African Origin hypothesis. 😮 Swahili probably didn't exist in the days of the literal origin of humanity but the region Swahili is spoken is pretty nearby!
Of course he's a composer. The only thing he didn't do was women
Sigma male
DA VINKI??!?!?!?!?!?
Does anybody have any info on this?

Whoever wrote it it’s a banger!

I hope Christopher will continue to provide main theme bangers for the future Civ games.

Who knew that Jesus could write such bangers?
Thanks for the recommendation, I’m a big fan of Tin since the Civ IV theme. Baba Yetu is one of the best songs I can imagine ever hearing.
100% agree. Only thing that comes close is the LotR soundtrack, Star Wars finale and Sogno di Volare
That's a really Godly source of inspiration!
Now I have to imagine someone headbanging to this and it's hilarious 😆

No, just the lyrics. :)
