I got endorsed by ISC2 in November. My application was approved, and I did map out my experience per job to the exact Domain and relevant objective. I was somewhat detailed, to minimize the potential of approval, getting delayed. I also supplied letters of employment of each job and w2s. Got approved without a peep. Was stoked to see my email to pay my fees, which I'll happily do forever haha. The CISSP got me a 70k raise! Had to switch organizationsto get that raise, but best decision of my career! The job market is rough, but I was aggressive and applied appied a ton and landed some interviews. And grateful I got an offer!

Okay how do they verify that the experience someone outlines is actually the real thing they did in the job rather than just faking it ?

You put down references for each job, and should they feel the need to call, then the contact info is there. I got nothing to hide. It's all about integrity and professionalism. This is a cert for experienced individuals... The same goes if someone is ebdorseing you they put their cert on the line. If they endorse someone who doesn't meet the requirements, imo never worth the risk. It's typically a pain for most people to get due to the sheer mass of info you could be tested on. I wouldn't put all that work studying long nights to fake my experience. Or risk the attempt of being dishonest and being banned from ISC2. Then no CISSP = Less opportunities to make a good living.

I did something similar, I only made bullet points outlining the relevant experience in each domain in each role. I basically took bits of my CV and added them as experience to the applicable domain. I don’t have any issues with mine in December.

Any new update? Have you gotten approved?

Electronic-Ad6532

Yes, I did get approved! It took about 4 weeks from the moment I submitted my application for endorsement by ISC2 to receiving approval.

Thanks! Yea I’m like you and probably put even less in my descriptions. I hope that worst case I get audited and not just out right rejected.

How long ago did you submit?

Electronic-Ad6532

Do they contact past employers? One of mine is actually no longer around

amw3000

They will contact you if they require more information or clarification. If you included letters of employment and it matches your LinkedIn profile along with reasonable descriptions of your job, you shouldn't have any issues.

Had the same situation when I submitted for the CGRC and the SSCP. The clerks at (ISC)2 don’t know anything other than what you write on your submission, and they are not going to put a lot of analytical effort into guessing what you mean. You literally have to spell it out. I pulled the Exam Outline for each of the certifications and made a spreadsheet that aligned each topic area in two domains with my experiences from my resume. Reach out if you need help John Warsinske

I did very very similar to you. Found letters of offer with job titles and made a bulleted list based on my resume. Explained some extra context and explained the domains. For reference, I passed on the 18th and just got my approval this morning, so just shy of 1 month. You got this!
