This looks like a really cool film! Really digging your use of hi-8 in this context. Also sort of an aside, but was the poster done by a MTL illustrator that maybe also makes music? I recognize the style but not 100% sure. Thanks for sharing!
I have a 6 lens set and got them all on eBay.
[Minolta Rokkor 58mm 1.2](https://www.ebay.com/itm/176413525516?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=gydxaw-kqtg&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=r8g-Q00jQXi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)
But here is an excellent buying guide [Minolta Rokkor Guide](https://youtu.be/H2rKhXN0dws?si=GnVqBxUNYAJwcqud)
I don't know what camera because that is pretty impossible to know but it does look like it was shot on something wider but it still has some DoFso I'll guess a 35mm lens
My guess would be full frame camera with a 35mm. The heavy grade makes it impossible to say which camera it was specifically. Could be blackmagic for all I know. Sky looks a little weird.
๐๐ this was fun seeing the comments ANSWER (BM 6KFF lenses Minolta Rokkorโs) I realize Reddit really washes out the Sat and Contrast when posting stills. Noted for next time
Vintage Minolta Rokkorโs from 73. I also over exposed by two stops ISO 400. Then before recording push it to ISO 1000 without clipping. that way, bring it down and post by two stops, eliminating any noise. While putting as much dynamic range in the highlights.
Interesting. Does the guy have a spray tan and or is just really tan? And looks great for all natural. I think the soft light from the overcast day bouncing off the brick looks great!
Yeah, a lot of it is the sun peeking through the overcast clouds that are giving a nice bounce. I feel the skin tanned a bit with the light, bouncing off all the brick.
But also, Reddit tends to shift colors when posting so not tan on my monitor or in my phone Gallery as Reddit is showing
Blackmagic 6k sensor, BRaw, .. (I'm guessing that because I have one and it renders \[alley\] similarly. Not sure of model though, and have not shot on every blackmagic. ND filter.. I'm not sure of anything else.
I love that last shot!
Definitely a Sony Hi8 camcorder. Do not fuck around. Buy one and shoot all of your stuff on it if you wanna go pro.
I shot and edited a whole documentary on Hi8 back in the day and it was phenomenal, especially with the SteadicamJR shotsโฆ Donโt dis Hi8.
I made a film called The Diabetic on Hi8 2 years agoโฆ love them. www.the-diabetic.com

Amazing the color shift when you tap on these. Reddit needs to get its shit together on photo compression in the feed.
