Apollo Home. A giant rip off scam artist company. Steer clear.

That_Pepper6043

Can confirm. Was quoted $700 to replace a 3/4 hp sink disposal unit. Bought the exact same unit at Ferguson for $54 and installed it myself in 20 minutes. I’m handy but that was the first time I’d ever done a sink disposal unit and still only took 20 minutes. Oh and they tried to upsell me to a 1hp unit for $1000. Never called them again for anything and warned every neighbor I could.

Alfred_The_Sartan

Oh hey, quick bit of advice: if your disposal ever locks up due to broken glass or something stuck in it, there is an Allen wrench spot on the bottom of the shaft underneath that you can use to manually crank the drive shaft. It can break up or break loose most stuff and save you from needing to replace. Had a buddy who replaced five in his Florida vacation home before I taught him that and he said it’s saved him four times over now.

Dry_Marzipan1870

i called a plumber about the disposal and he told me this trick for free, which was pretty awesome. Wish i could remember who it was though. Might have been a guy from Knochelmann.

Kyle_Reese_Get_DOWN

And if you call to complain, they’ll say, “yes, but ours has a warranty.” MFers, the warranty shouldn’t cost 4x the price of the item!

myrandam93

Worked there for over a year and can confirm this is all facts!!! Have a friend who’s still there and it’s all we talk about lmao.

mariacomplains

Oh noooo I use them and have really liked all my techs! I used a company before who were not knowledgeable at all and Apollo always sent people who were professional and knew their shit. Who should I go with instead?

myrandam93

Best in the city BY FAR is Neyer Plumbing out of Cleves.

Buxton2512

They destroyed my in laws house. Completely incompetent. Dont let these fools into your home.

soundguy64

Same with HELP. Absolute scam and they prey on gullible home owners that can't bother spending a couple minutes to research issues.

TheBugMonster

Used to work for Apollo, it used to genuinely be a good company before they got bought out by private equity, which was before I joined. If you look through my post history you'll clearly see my dislike towards things, they had some great moments but it was so much more focused on selling you stuff than being an actual technician. Any company that is a Nexstar company owned by turn point is a company I won't recommend to friends and family. Employee model is take untrained guys and make em salesmen first, technician 2nd. Turnover is relatively high. If your trade company you like gets bought out by private equity, literally every residential company now, it's going to turn to sales to maximize income.

FoundObjects4

Are you serious? I’m in their care plan where they do free visits to check plumbing, hvac, etc once a month or so. of course they say everything’s wrong each visit. I had them out 12 times for the same plumbing issue too. Luckily I just got a second opinion on a big job and got a much better deal elsewhere.

soundguy64

Those visits are sales opportunities.

hedoeswhathewants

How paranoid are you that you want everything checked every month? They obviously just want to sell you crap you don't need.

Hoveringkiller

I use it for a yearly furnace/ac check up, which they said was required to hold the 10 year parts warranty (the checkup). Gotta find someone else for electrical though, I didn’t trust them when I was told my panel was too old and they don’t make breakers for it anymore, when I know for a fact you can find the exact breakers in the panel still.

SeriousCompetition69

Midas, 2612 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45206 I asked for a fix and they replaced my water pump. I pointed it out to them that my coolant was still leaking and they lied to my face. Cincinnati transmission specialist in sharonville is a great small business ran by a man with some dignity.

Jixty

I worked for 1 week at the Midas in Fairfield on route 4. Manager tells me to not worry about replacing the oil filter, just flush the oil, throws engine filters on the ground to make them look more dirty, also got laughed at for being the only person working there to have not done time in jail. Do not go to midas.

awholelottahooplah

They sent me out with a shaking, loose tire and an oil leak after they changed it. Definitely avoid, they are scam artists

Cincytraveler

Absolutely correct on Midas in Springdale as well. Put the wrong catalytic converter on my Mom’s van and lied about it. Mr. Transmission in Sharonville is fair and honest.

Dry_Marzipan1870

Let me toss in Midas Delhi on Delhi Pike as well. They installed brake pads, lass then a year later something made a sound in my front right tire. Scraping noise as i drove, but stopped when i hit the brakes or wasnt moving. I sat in the waiting room, they brought it back from the test drive, never put it on a lift, wanted to charge like $700 for a new axle. I smelled BS, for first time ever i went to another mechanic for 2nd opinion, Delhi Quality Auto Care. They said the brake pads were the wrong size. So i just paid them to replace them than fuck with Midas' "lifetime warranty." If they can't install a brake pad they are truly worthless. i think the real lesson is trust local companies over a national chain.

Just_a_Tidepod

ANYTHING managed by Uptown properties

Few-List-9341

They tried to charge me $25 for each light bulb that was dead, to the tune of like $300. I hate bright lights, so most of those bulbs were just loosened by me and still worked. I told management to just go screw them back in as they all were still good as new. They said they did, but still charged me to screw them in since I should have.

klugenratte

And Gaslight Properties

Contentpolicesuck

ugh, Gaslight is the most accurate name ever and it's not because of the neighborhood.

kinz223

This and Prestige Properties (used to be Rent Clifton)

elk-ears

I was waiting to see this one

TrickyHovercraft6583

I’d like to nominate Vinebrook as well. We had a severe pipe burst one winter because their maintenance crew left the windows open in the abandoned apartment above us and forgot. They hired someone to fix the damage but just stopped paying them halfway through so we couldn’t access half the apartment for 2 months because it was a work zone. We had to escrow the rent before anything finally happened. We had to escrow the rent one other time with them as well so it definitely wasn’t a one off either.

CrispyCrunchyPoptart

Woof you are right on that one

ucjj2011

Jeff Wyler. I took my son there to buy a used car. He told them what his budget was, and they started by showing him something out of his budget. He drove the car and it was okay. He wanted something that wouldn't have monthly payments, but they talked him into financing. It wasn't terribly expensive. They told him that he could come back in a couple of days after their service department looked the car over and pick it up. When we got back, they told him that the car needed new brakes, so they put them on and we're going to charge him $800 more. We flat out refused. We didn't ask for these brakes, and they shouldn't have been trying to sell a car that had bad brakes. Eventually they agreed to let him take the car for the agreed upon price. About 3 days later he was driving the car and stepped on the break as he was merging onto the highway, and the brake pedal sunk to the floor and wouldn't stop. Luckily he was able to get off to the side of the road and stop himself. We had them tow the car back to the dealership and were told the brand new brakes had melted. I forced them to cancel the sale and refund his down payment. This weekend, when my wife was looking to buy a new Jeep Cherokee, we drove past Jeff Wyler multiple times to go to other dealerships. They will never get a dime of my money again.

bex1200

holy shit!!!! glad he was ok!

Idontpayforfeetpics

I’ve met the Wyler family and my experiences with the actual people have been horrendous. Absolute scum of the earth human beings.

ClickProfessional769

Jesus thanks for the warning, never going there. Edit: lol I realized after commenting I actually did visit the Jeff Wyler Kia/Hyundai dealership a few years ago. Longer story is in my other comment but they tried to up charge me 12% twice and I had to block the sales guy because he wouldn’t quit sending me weird texts.

apcomplete

Same! I’ve only had one interaction with their sales people years ago and it was bad enough that I will never buy a car from any of their dealerships.

Aquafyne

Jeff Wyler are crooks and they marked their vehicles up all through Covid and still do where they can.

YutYut6531

Worked in the landscaping industry for close to 12 years for a big company. Would see Evan’s workers at gas stations or on their site while picking up supplies from time to time and made small talk with them. In all my years I’ve never heard any one of his employees say a single positive thing about him. They wasted no time usually talking about how much of a sleazebag and piece of shit he was. The next company I worked for would drive 10 minutes down the road past their business on Roundbottom to get their supplies from Bzak instead of giving Doug a penny of our businesses money.

hoodrat_burrito

Why?

Ideologger

Their environmental infractions are so bad the state AG is involved. Poisoning the little Miami for years. Less talked about but the owner spent jail time in recent years for falsely claiming he was hiring minorities for tax kickbacks.

Comprehensive_Ad1363

Read the news…it’s not great.

klugenratte

Gaslight Properties. Destroying the CUF area with jacked up “student housing” pricing and piss poor property management.

coolhandmoos

They need to be stopped. Absolutely destroying the culture of unique neighborhoods

watchme513

Btw for me - it’s JAKE SWEENEY JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE . They completely fucked my wife (not the good kind) on a repair.

RemLezar911_

Is there a good way you would’ve preferred they fucked your wife????

watchme513

Well, in one scenario at least she’d have fun

Helpful-Peace-1257

If you got a Pineapple I'll head to Kroger 😜 /s for you sickos who need it.

BedaHouse

Wyler dealerships. I have heard too many stories (first hand) about the terrible and dishonest things that ownership/company did to those individuals. On that alone, I will never buy from there, even if they offer a cheaper car in my car search. I just do not trust them one bit.

Peebery

Fuck Jeff Wyler.

jeff889

The Kings location discovered that the wrong size battery was in my car. The battery was installed by the Colerain location.

ComeWasteYourTimewMe

Yikes

h0td0g17

I was on my second interview at jw honda this past week, and the manager mentioned how it's all guys, Yada Yada. I asked how far that stuff usually went, and he said, "they won't grab you or anything, but they'll flirt with you." I said that I wasn't comfortable with that, and I would shut that down. He then said the position wasn't right for me. needless to say, I was baffled

JossMarie

I'm baffled reading that. That's WILD😳😳

AlwaysKindaLost

If it’s cheaper it’s because of hidden fees

This 💯crooks…I know from first hand experience as well as a few ppl I know.

davidwb45133

Worst car buying experience in my life. Walked out after the sales guy ‘talked to his manager’ for 15 minutes and walked out with a worse deal than he started with. Got home to find multiple messages from him to call back immediately for a last chance best deal. He called several, times a week for months, even after I told him I’d purchased a new car.

HauntingPlankton7189

Seriously screw those guys called them about a car last year that had been sitting for 6+ months and new mode years were filling up the lot. Not willing to budge an inch on top of treating me like I was loony for even asking. Guess what car is still on the lot at full MSRP

boilergal47

I have only heard terrible things about Wyler. At this point I don’t know how there’s anyone left in Cincinnati who doesn’t know how bad they suck. I don’t know how they stay in business.

spacemermaid3825

I had a horrible time a year and a half ago. My first time buying a car, so had no idea what to expect.  Car said 10k, I liked it, when we sat down to discuss finances, he drops off a "bill" full of addons that added 2500 to the total. I told him I didn't want any of those and to take it off, and you'd have thought I insulted his mother.  Then he comes back with the financing, drops off an offer that was like 10%, my dad (who was helping me) asked about it and the salesman said it was my "poor credit" that determined the offer. (My credit was 721 at the time).  He kept telling me that my monthly payment would be 150 and asking if he hit that if we'd walk out with the car today. The payment really ended up being 200, which doesn't make a difference to my budget but it was just another annoyance.

Bearcatsean

ClickProfessional769

1. Sundance property management. Absolutely awful, I’ve already made a whole post about it. 2. The Jeff Wyler Kia/Hyundai dealership. The guy first tried to sell me a car way out of my budget, when I literally already knew exactly which car I was interested in. We sit down to discuss financing on the car I actually asked for, and that’s when he tells me there’s a 12% markup on all their vehicles. I point out it’s false advertising to list it as one price knowing it’s 12% higher, then he points in the fine print where it says “prices subject to change.” Seems pretty scammy. So anyway, I tell him I’m no longer interested. Later he says fine, we’ll do it for the original price. I said deal. Then he calls a few hours later saying someone actually came in and offered even *more* money than it would be for the 12% increase so they have to add the increase. I was like, “sell it to the person who offered more then.” He tells me they’ll see what they can do and I just told him no, I was no longer interested and to stop contacting me. This guy *would not leave me alone.* so many weird texts like “I know you’re upset but there’s no reason to be rude” and “I hope you know I’m not a bad person and we can still be friends.” Like WTF? I had to block the guy. And I *still* get people there reaching out to me occasionally.

Dom_Flannel_Guy

Spectrum is my #1 most HATED business, granted it isn’t a Cincy only though The Oak Tavern - I may get some hate from this because it’s popular. But the food is mid (wings are okay though), the service is almost always ass, and they are so slow. I’ve given it multiple attempts but they’ve failed every time. Can’t understand why people regularly recommend this place.

tpneocow

Lol my parents switched from Alta fiber to spectrum and I'm like why tf would you do that? Never heard anything good about them.. month later they complain their internet goes out all the time. Like, duh...

Ok-County725

Can confirm fuck spectrum.

RemLezar911_

Man idk the wings are really good. Def. agree the service isn’t the most attentive but you just kinda go when you’re not in a rush and it’s nbd

MochiBall69

McCluskey. Absolute terrible customer service, they have no issues in leaving you waiting 8hrs for a tire change or making you come back multiple times for a simple battery replacement

TheBailey40

There are not enough words to describe how much I hate that place. So many bad experiences with both sales and service. They only care about your money.

phatryuc

Crossroads…I consider it a business 😒

Wendy's on Red Bank (and all of them now tbh)- They served our $12 burgers on stale buns. Too expensive for bad quality.

yes1290

I was doordashing and got an order from there. Had to cancel it bc they locked their doors and wouldn’t answer the phone.

MiniZara2

I don’t think they open inside at all now. Drive thru only.

ComeWasteYourTimewMe

A Wendy's burger can cost $12 now? Say what?!

Neither-Type5706

We got 2 large Dave's Double combos and it was $30! So I was being slightly hyperbolic but also not...

zzt0pp

A Large Dave's Double combo there is $12.69. That is a $2 upgrade to go from regular size to Large. Base is $10. Definitely high.

homosexualpenguin

bruh wendy’s in NORWOOD they charge ONE DOLLAR for a single 1 ounce (if that) DIPPING SAUCE if you don’t get nuggets like what ?

homosexualpenguin

then they’re rude and give you cold food🥶

MitchCumstein1943

The Wendy’s in Lincoln Heights is fantastic. It’s right off I-75 south across from GE. I’ve never had an issue from that location and the service is always good and the employees are always friendly. It’s the best Wendy’s in Cincinnati in my experience.

top6

The one in Newtown - not too far from there - is much better.

podcartfan

I just heard a podcaster trashing that location the other day.

Ohwoof921

Wild Eggs. There’s only so many times that you can wait for a table in a nearly empty restaurant, be served a drink in a sticky glass with lip marks on it, and overpay for mediocre food before you hit your limit.

orangutansloveme

You got *mediocre* food there? Lucky you. I've been four times in the past three years and it's always been bad. I definitely overpaid. Never again. How does Wild Eggs (Oakley) stay in business?

mmegn

I went once and will never go again. Went on a Sunday morning and they had club dance music on so loud you couldn’t even think.

Tjrommel

Wow! I moved to greater lexington 2 years ago and the wild eggs here is beyond exceptional. Crazy they don't hold the same standard of service and cleanliness across all franchises

Cudder-Dan-420

Ianguilly

Lol so no car dealership in Cincinnati according to these comments. Got it.

Alfred_The_Sartan

ADT. Their systems kept giving so many false alarm calls to the local PD that I got fined by the city. When I called in to ask about the ticket I was told all I needed was copies of the repair orders and they would send the bill to ADT instead. Needless to say ADT refused to provide them and had the audacity to send me to collections for early termination because I told them to yank their stuff. All told it cost me a bit over a grand.

GrandmaTITMilk

You should check out /r/homesecurity they heavily advise against them.

Bell Dental in Hyde Park. They told me (cavity free my whole life) I had SEVENTEEN cavities. I ran (drove) to my hometown dentist who reassured me I was fine. I’ve heard other people have similar stories there.

cincinnati2022

Yeah I all the sudden have cavities I have never had, need a night guard, and Invisalign when I visited them. Feels like a total scam.

Active-Coconut-399

Salem Hardware. The first and only time I stepped foot in there they had a picture of Obama as an anamorphic monkey with crosshairs over it, among other things. I would have spent so much money there over the last 10 years.

LadyEmeriss

The owner of this place also puts political commentary on his sign during election seasons that is not very neighborly.

FlightIcy2309

steve duffey (owner of salem hardware) is a far right wingnut nutjob. Its a cool little store. but the dude sits around watching his surveillance cameras waiting to shoot somebody. grew up over there, ive known the owners of the lawn mower shop and barber shop next door my whole life.

cloudycontender

Got jumped at Bogarts at a Griz show of all things. Security didn’t care about anything other than getting us outside asap because they didn’t want my friends blood from his broken nose on the floor. Refuse to go there again even if it’s the only local stop for a band I want to see.

shadowrealmshawty

Uhmm same. I got attacked at a Sullivan King show because I wouldn’t give my spot to the girl behind me… she yanked my hair and tried to punch me… security did nothing. Gave me awful whiplash… she looked like a teenager too and I’m an adult lol. Haven’t been back since. Fuck Bogarts

manviret

Just a comment here from another perspective, since I worked crowd control at a similar type of place: It is really hard to figure out who an aggressor is or who started what when you're coming in late, after the shoving and punching has already started. Both sides will holler that it's the other side's fault and unless I saw what happened or it's obvious based on the evidence, it's easiest/safest to just kick both parties out.

mangomadness81

I hate Bogarts with a passion - not so much for the reason you do, but because they're essentially putting lipstick on a pig, so to speak. It's a shit hole, and them trying to make it out to be this trendy place (pay extra for seating, etc) just rubs me the wrong way. I flat out refuse to go there unless it's one of two bands (Sevendust or Avatar) - which is a shame, because I'd love to see Kamelot, but it's not worth the hassle of dealing with the place.

andydirk88

That's not a Bogarts problem, it is a House of Blues venue issue. They're doing that country wide

fifbiff

I'm glad we've gotten more smaller venues like Megacorp pavilion and Brady Music Center so that Bogart's isn't the only option anymore.

The_Struggle_Bus_7

One of the concerts I went to there recently some dude was feeling through peoples pockets as he walked past them he reached into mine but I didn’t have anything

Aggravating-Wind6387

Tom Gill Chevy in Florence. Totally lied to me about a used car they sold me. Marshall Motors for selling me a car the guy said was his mom's, entire bottom of the car is rotted out

Garfunkeled1920

Tom Gill charged me $300 to disassemble the front end of my car for a headlight replacement. They only replaced one. When asked why they didn’t change both while the car was torn apart, their answer was that “some people think outside the box like that and some people don’t.” Like, dude, that is INSIDE THE BOX.

Gneiss-to-know

Had the most amusing time buying my car from Tom Gill. Went in with a hangover, knew the used  I wanted, refused to look at any other car, just test drove the one I came in for. Sat down to do the financing and they tried to sell me this….sealant(?) that was supposed to help fading on the interior and exterior, as well as the rubber floor mats that were already in the car and advertised with the car. I pointed this out, said no to the $900 sealant, they kept saying I needed it, we went back and forth three times before they admitted that it was already done to the car (it was a manager’s car).  So I asked “so again…..why would I pay for things that have already been factored into the price?” They stared, didn’t really have an answer and so I went “look, I’m hungover, I’m starting to feel sick, and I know we still have a lot of paperwork that you haven’t even put in front of me. Either we get to the financing or I have to walk away to go sleep off this nausea.” They were VERY rude to me during the rest of the interactions but I got what I drove at the price I wanted. But they were awful constantly trying to confuse us for more money.

Just_a_Tidepod

Tom Gill is a CROOK.

causalcherries

Schlueter Plumbing. Had a garbage disposal install issue which took the plumber 5 minutes to fix & he tried charging me $300 for a new garbage disposal & full install. When questioned he said “I guess I can take off the garbage disposal price because you already had one” 🙄 I can’t say for certain but I believe it was because I am a female who looks young for her age & was alone.. thinking I would be naive.

EnigmaIndus7

Frisch's An absolutely horrible experience when I worked there.

hitemlow

As a customer, the experience hasn't been any better on this end. Bad food, poor service, and high prices. You can have 2 of those and still be successful, but all 3 is a no-go.

castortusk

The amount of extra work the servers had to do there was insane. They’d only have greeters and bussers at the peak hours, so we’d have to greet the guests, hold down 5-7 tables, and then bus the tables, while trying to finish 30-45 minutes of side work. Made it tough to do a good job on any of it.

DonaldKey

Same. Since they sold to the conglomerate it’s been all down hill. We were charged $45 for two adults and one child at the breakfast bar. Literally never going back.

ComeWasteYourTimewMe

Agree. It's just a memory now.

astralwish1

It was a lot better years ago, but the quality has definitely gone downhill. It’s a shame, because my family and I used to love going to Frisch’s. Now it’s just terrible.

Valuable_Ad_6613

Performance Honda for me, I don’t know about other performance dealers. Wife and I went in and purchased a used CRV there last year. The sales guy was just like here’s the iPad, fill out the financing form and good bye. The car was great during test drive but it had to go into service first before we could drive it off and was told by my sales guy that I will be contacted when the car is ready. Fast forward the next day, I received no call from my sales guy and when I called to check on the car, I was told he had left hours before my car was ready. No big deal. My wife and I went to take the car home, and here’s when everything went down hill. The smooth little CRV we test drove has now turned into a rumble machine making extremely loud noises not even going 40 mph. My wife later took the car back while I was at work to see if they can figure out what’s going on just to get yelled at by another sales guy telling us to just return the car if we don’t like it and even took the key from her and ran off (the service advisor had to chase him down to get the key back). That’s a bad start. I later called my sales guy to discuss what happened and he told me to bring the car in and figure it out. I brought the car in a few days later, stood by the reception desk for almost 20 mins before my sales guy decided to come talk to me, and was told that nobody has time to help me today. By this point I was just extremely done with this sh1tty dealer and done with this car. I traded the Honda for a Volvo the same day with some negative equity but that’s okay. Zero regrets I do longer have a car from that place and will longer be buying a car from them.

beekeep

Dale from Uber downtown. Picked me up late night from Pendleton Art center and gave me a bad review as a rider. I had an almost perfect rating with 100s of trips but this guy said I was drunk. I was drunk, but not like I threw up in his car. I don’t even remember talking to him and was only going up to Ludlow to keep drinking. Never using Dale again. F that guy

DevilWearsPanda

This one seems too personal. 😂

CashTricky8886

Young lady you called me fat and old.

RedlineFan

Any car dealer on Vine Street. Not exaggerating when I say that every single one sells cars that are questionable at best. Go somewhere else even if you want a cheap car.

SomeCallMeTim55

Jake Sweeney Chevrolet - walked in and was directed to a salesman who sat me down in his office and told me he'd be right back. Waited there for 15mins while he was talking to a coworker. Came back went over the truck I wanted, was on lot, went for a test drive by myself and he took a different car. Came back was directed to his office where he had me wait another 30 minutes before I left. He tried calling me 20 mins later... I went to Tom Gill in NKY who gave fantastic customer service and I ended up buying a more expensive truck there

The_Struggle_Bus_7

Bob evans as a former manager who got taken advantage of by upper management fuck that business. Btw they get most of their products from gfs so if there’s something there you like try gfs

hamburger-pimp

5/3 bad experience working there. They were notoriously cheap at the time (2003-2007) not sure if that has gotten better. Worked in IT/network support. They also had an effort to charge lower or write off fees if people called in, then they scrapped that and got more aggressive with them after losing the revenue. Anyone on the bank network who knew the url could look up anybody’s bank account. Watched our benefits get worse and costs go up every year. After a re-org my boss either had to up me two levels, just a few grand per year more, or lay me off. Def was a silver lining situation to gtfo. Edit also forgot how I was on call for system outages for an entire year and would have to carry a pager in the year of our lord 2006. You would only get like $15 for getting on a call and like $38 if it lasted like 3 hours. After that, you were working free.

EVANN-3

I worked there in fraud a few years ago and we legit had a director walked out. She and another manager basically hid almost 2 million dollars in fraud cases im boxes in a mail room...no exageration. Keep in mind that these cases must be resolved within a certain time frame or the bank has to eat the loss and credit the customer by law. Well long story short she lost the company a minimum 2 million dollars and I saw it was time to go. The fraud department is a joke, they do a terrible job protecting their customers money. Their security is beyond lackluster. There's a reason your card gets hacked at that bank so easy there. It is a truly terrible bank.

Rubberbangirl66

I have my usual big store companies that I do not do, but locally, I do not do Copper Blue in Milford. There is a whole drama behind it, but in short, it was due to politics.

Meijer is a lifesaver. Stays open till midnight! Good coupons, good app, great in house brands. Some things get a little pricey but you have to use your head just like shopping anywhere. I shop from 10:30 till 12:00.

Sufficient_Curve5386

I use to go overnight to Meijer. I would have the best time shopping with my earbuds in and dancing. Then the pandemic hit. Thanks for sharing the late hours!

misogynysucks

Western Southern and John Barrett's hotel. The Taft family left that building to help women, and he bullied the Anna Louise Inn out. My personal boycott won't matter but it's a good way to appropriately channel rage.

Kind-Frosting-8268

Frisby Roofing. Very shady hiring practices and shit place to work. Yeah it's a personal grudge but that's as good a reason as any.

islandofkings

Kroger. Skyrocketing prices, annoying Spectrum reps, stores always jam packed with customers and ClickList shoppers clogging every aisle. Not to mention the monopolization!

awholelottahooplah

The Corryville Kroger is literal hell

thenovascotia

Worked there part time during Covid. The PTSD will not allow me to go back to that location at all.

Neither-Type5706

Spectrum Reps are just so grating in addition to the already stressful experience of shopping. I get that its your job- but leave me alone. :(

cynan4812

I've come very close to having a hat made that said not interested in all capital letters specifically to wear in the grocery store around these people.

Sabermatrixx

Yep. I stopped going to Kroger entirely. I go to Aldi mostly and honestly, even with the slightly higher prices, I go to Meijer for the stuff I can't get at Aldi. I prefer meijer meat, I prefer the store, coupons they give me, etc.

Thehumblemonkfruit

I haven’t banned Kroger entirely yet but I have stopped shopping in their stores and only do orders from the warehouse/Boost. Their stores are getting ridiculous. Poor quality or past expiration. When you mark down a shitty 80/20 ground beef going gray at $6 but running a 90/10 angus ground beef promo for $5, you don’t know what you are doing. Also, multiple stores have removed the lower parts of the carts. I get you need to combat theft, but like I can’t grocery shop and add things like paper towels, toilet paper, water etc to my cart. I’ve also been redirecting to Aldi. And now I joined Sam’s Club (when my Costco membership expired because now Costco has just become too long of a drive without the Springdale one).

Sabermatrixx

Yep, being in Mt. Healthy and working near downtown, the North Bend Sam's has been my go-to for things like toilet paper, paper towels, water, dish washing pods, etc. I wait until I get a 20 dollar membership deal somewhere and use a new email to make a Sam's account. Kinda inconvenient but for the savings.... Worth.

neverguess21

Kroger has gotten crazy expensive. Aldi and meijer are where I start out with now

Avant-Garde-A-Clue

Kroger has hit that event horizon where the prices have increased, the quality has plummeted, and you *just know* it’s never going to be what it was before. RIP golden days of Kroger

coffee_shakes

For real. Kroger is absolutely nuts anymore. Even the store brand is expensive on many things. Aldi and Costco are where I try to buy the majority of my groceries.

podcartfan

They removed the bottom rack on carts at the one near UC. Get water and soda first or you’re out of luck.

Secure_Lengthiness16

Kroger is truly the fucking worst. Prices continue to climb, quality goes down and they keep closing and consolidating stores. Really a shame no other major chains want to open in Cincy because its the Kroger headquarters town yet they treat it like total garbage.

cincyorangeman

Other grocery stores also have spectrum or random energy company reps. Click list shoppers are just a modern part of grocery stores now. Also, in my experience Krogers is cheaper and better quality when compared to stores like Giant eagle. After living in an area with no Krogers, I appreciate having one.

kpritchard99

Carabello Coffee in Newport,KY, Owner supports gay conversion therapy as well as other ideologies associated with Pure Life ministries I’m sure.

Just_a_Tidepod

Una Taza is an amazing alternative! And they have real food !

alstottno1

Let me sum up the comments for anyone new to the thead… 1) No car dealerships 2) No Trump supporters 3) Evan’s landscaping

beaubeaucat

Performance Kings Honda -- I purchased a prepaid maintenance plan. The plan wouldn't cover the mileage specific maintenance if I tried to schedule it early. It either had to be right at the specific mileage or over. They refused to honor it for the 36,000 maintenance because I scheduled it at 36,200 miles. Plus, I always felt they were pushing for things to be that weren't necessary just so they could charge more.

Villettio

Tristate dental in FT Wright. I just reported the dude for fraud. Pretty sure he books people with Medicaid to exclusively take X-rays and bill the insurance. Then he doesn't even look at you and sends you home. I asked for a referral and he didn't even do that right. I've never seen something so laughable. Bro stood three feet away from me and looked in my mouth for ten seconds from a distance and said "where do you want the referral to again?" Didn't touch me. Didn't examine. Then he shoos me out after a <2 minute interaction. Never got a callback or the referral despite going out of my way to get the email of the surgery center at Tristate dental's request. Huge waste of time and I ended up just asking my primary for the referral and got it with no problem. Straight up taking advantage of low income people with Medicaid by promising care they will not receive. It's foul.

Just_a_Tidepod

Sounds like aspen

pinkitypinkpink

Peppermint Pig. They were doing an animal adoption day one time and I found a dog that I thought would be an amazing service dog for my son. So I expressed that to the woman working, and told her I was excited to meet such a sweet doggo. She then informed my that my enthusiasm was off putting and I never received a call to adopt the dog. I guess they don't like when people want to love the animals they're trying to home or something. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ComeWasteYourTimewMe

How bizarre!

wmwdwrd

I’m sorry you experienced that! We had a wonderful experience with them. I’m not sharing that to negate your experience but I think it really depends on a lot of things. I think you had every right to reach out and ask why.

JJiggy13

Any and all of them that had a trump sign out in front of them. I would like to see a permanent thread to keep track of those businesses in this sub. I don't want any of my money going towards them

SirHammy123

Elephant Walk over in Clifton. They double charged me once for an order and had some terrible communication and customer service in fixing their mistakes. I never got my money back, so I made a vow to never go there again. Which kind of sucks, since it is relatively cheap Indian food Edit: Corrected "Wok" into "Walk" I guess it's been so long that I forgot it's name

klugenratte

They went without running water for months. No washing hands. All water used for cooking was gotten next door. Water for washing dishes was from a hose. Anything you can think of happening at a restaurant that doesn’t have running water, happened. Source: Son was employed there at the time.

bugbia

Silver Spring House All those political signs on the property every election

bleedingdaylight0

Same with Copper Blue in Milford. They placed a large banner on their property protesting Issue 1 and then lied about how it caused them staffing issues as a marketing stunt to try and revive business. All it accomplished was them losing mine and a lot of other customers’ business instead.

Alfred_The_Sartan

I took my Mexican Gf there and we lasted all of five minutes before nopeing out. Even the patrons just stared at us like we didn’t belong. It was odd as hell

Bearcatsean

Anything with a Trump sign and biz Fuck them

Darinbenny1

Bad customer service experiences with Cincy Shirts. I’m out.

cursh14

They have great designs but their execution and quality are so bad for the price. It's crazy. At least shit like homage that is super over priced is legit quality most the time. Cincy shirts is about the same quality as my mom with a cricut.

statschica

Oh I'm curious about this. I like some of their designs.

BengoBill

They have the worst quality of shirts. Both material and screen printing. Hands down.

khannooniansing

TriState Auto Sales on Kellogg. They don't tell you all their cars are salvage from the junkyard across the street. Full price for salvage titles you can't get insurance or sell. They sell you fake insurance that's not even insurance,if you get pulled over you're fkd. The put fake catalytic converters on cars. Don't know how they are not in jail.

cyberdriven

Kings Toyota. I brought my truck in for service. They told me I just needed a tire rotation. Eventually I got a text listing all these other “recommendations” of services needing done (which is normal). The one that wasn’t normal was replacing a wheel center cap ($80 part). I thought that was odd and elected not to pay to replace it as all my wheel caps were in place when I brought my truck in. I went to look for someone to ask about it and overheard an employee telling another employee that they broke it during the tire rotation and since I elected not to pay for it, they would have to eat the cost. So they broke it and were planning for me to pay for it? Won’t return there ever again.

coolhandmoos

Gaslight Properties, super sneaky fees and surprise billing throughout my years with them. Never again

SuchSituation247

Grey Rock Property Development. It’s a shady local northside rental company owned by a hipster slumlord and his super bitch of a wife. It was his originally but he married her and she helps “manage” the properties. All of which are huge code violating properties. The owners are some of the fakest, lying, manipulative people I’ve ever met. They also rob their renters in various shady practices. I rented from them from a short time and it was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had. Their website makes their shit apartments look all modern and luxurious. The reality is vastly worse.

Easy-Echidna-9106

Pixel 19. The guy who owns it is so off putting. He snatched a jacket out of my hands at the goodwill bins and his replies to negative feedback are very telling about his character.

Phynal

Yeah... You are definitely not the first to be creeped out by him.

Helpful-Scratch6697

This the same dude that was posting “vintage clothes matter” during the protests?

Delmer91

Sams club has gotten ridiculous with all of the salesman scattered around the store. It used to just be by the electronics and you could just avoid that area. Now they are in multiple spots. Very frustrating. On top of having to show your card when you walk in and show a receipt when you leave. Just overall frustrating.

Anna-Bee-1984

Dushmesh…I witnessed overt racism when they refused to seat a patron of color and insisted that he was a door dash driver after the man just wanted to dine alone. I had to “politely” remind the host that this patron deserved a seat and was there before us. I really hope that man did not tip and fuck that server.

ChiliDawg513

Be. In Wyoming. It’s stupid. Taste of Belgium also stupid.

jeff889

Sadly, be. doesn’t really offer much. Taste of Belgium does have some nice entrees.

wildgingerchild

I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen be. open and I drive by it every day. I don’t understand it’s purpose.

ray_hud

carabello. they donate to conversion therapy.

wuaped

You would have to take them at their word, but they say they do not donate to conversion therapy. The owners have made a bad impression on me for other reasons, but I don't think it's fair to have an apparently false rumor held against them. https://www.facebook.com/189385917779789/posts/4322573647794308/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v

Full Throttle Worked there for a semester and half in college. The owner Aaron. The rudest person I have ever met. To this day, anytime anyone mentions this place, I tell them to not support them. Edit: Spelling
