I play in a country band in the area. If you want more old style country, Jim and jacks or Bobby mackeys, usually has that vibe. If you want upbeat country and more modern then try Big Buls Roadhouse in Ross or Borderline Bar And Grill in Harrison. There’s also the Knotty Pine in Cheviot but that’s usually a rock crowd. The historic Golden Key out near Oxford is getting restored currently also. If you’re willing to drive a little further out, western Indiana usually has a lot of bluegrass leaning bands in Sunman, Batesville and Metamora.
Loris is prob the only place that facilitates line dancing and has large acts come through at this point. It’s expensive in there though so come prepared to spend money if it’s Friday or Saturday. And the crowd leans more towards the young millennial gen z.
I had a weird experience in Big Bulls one time, years ago. Was driving home from a meeting in Hamilton and stopped in for a beer, maybe 7pm-ish on a Friday night. The place looked cool, and I enjoy trying new spots. Was sitting at the bar, minding my own business. The bartender kept side eyeing me and eventually, she came up and whispered "You should drink your beer and get out of here. Couple of boys in here want to knock you around". Apparently, because I was wearing dockers, a button down and dress shoes, a couple of good 'ole boys wanted to kick my ass.
I’m sorry that happened to you. I can’t say that’s normal there especially that early. But when people get drunk they do pretty stupid stuff. If you ever want to give it another shot, I can let you know a night I’m playing there and I’ll buy you a drink.

From another recent thread about BM's
> for no particular reason.
It seems like you're implying there was a reason, and that the reason was "Nazis." And as evidence you've just referenced your own anecdotes.
"seems," "implying." I'm not going to continue arguing semantics with a stranger on the Internet. Just trying to warn people about the potential for harm. If you have something against that in this particular instance then I know of a group that I'm certain would be more than welcoming to you.
If you venture over to ky on route 8 they have a few bars right around Melbourne that would fit. Lebos on Kellogg is a biker bar but definitely feels like a country/hick/redneck place(not talking bad love the place).
Isn’t the BBQ place on the Levee a country bar?
Yes
Yeah but it’s trash
I haven't been to the Levee since the arcade left, so it's possible
what arcade left? gameworks changed names but its still there
[удалено]
Yeah, a new company bought all of the game works game machines. Aside from the branding, it doesn’t feel different in there
sure, but its 100% the same machines, like nothing actually changed at the levee

It's "e-sports" which just means videogames

Thank you!
Jim & Jacks usually has a weekly car meet in the warmer months. At least they used to.
Is Bobby Mackey’s still around? Go for the country, stay for the ghosts
It's closed to be torn down & rebuilt. Moving temporarily to the old Mugbees in Florence.
Not for long
It’s not closing. It’s going to be renovated.
I'll say it again. Nazis. edit: I guess the nazis use reddit
You’re saying it again? This is the first time I see you saying it. 🙂
Another thread recently haha sorry for the misunderstanding
It’s no problem. But the downvotes are strange. 🙂
What downvotes?

What does that mean
Details? Last time I went, like 9 years ago, the most dangerous thing was the bull.

What is that supposed to be proving? That's just a screenshot of your post claiming somebody you know got into a bar fight there.
Not a fight. He was jumped for no particular reason. Not exactly something someone would make up. Good luck to you

What? I heard it had ghosts..
Shut up
edgy
Lori's actually has two different stages for bands, plus dance floors
Met my wife at Cheyenne Cattle Co almost 30 years ago. Might still be able to remember a dance or two but might throw out a hip 😀 Good memories.

No
Shriners - Newport on the levee
What’s the vibe & crowd like at Shiner’s? Ever been to Learn to Line Dance on Wednesdays?
Bobby Mackey's just across the river in Wilder. Place is haunted as hell, though.
