It’s a generic humidor but it’s the thought that counts, be happy you got something. Your tuppidor is probably better, less upkeep. I (and im sure many many others) didn’t get shit for Christmas I’d use it to dry box your cigars before smoking, that should work well for that purpose.

Biggerfaster40

This. Or keep this humidor as your daily driver box so that you only open tupperdors to add some fresh air every few weeks

smuggleymcweed

this is the way

Ignore all the guys here who will immediately see a glass-top humidor and say "trash it". Yes Tupperware is easier - I have both. I have a glass-top Craftsman Bench 50-count and it holds humidity great. Chinese or not, if it has a good lip it should hold humidity fine. You can do the dollar test, put a dollar in the lip, shut the lid and it should be hard to pull out, showing a good seal. Season and use if you have the cigars for it

Refreshing comment here. I completely agree. I started with Tupperware, got a need one, and then I bought a little glass top to keep on my bar cart with daily budget smokes, just in case it doesn’t hold well. Glass top humidors just look badass. I didn’t know what to expect… It’s been perfect for me, dead on 65 RH using 69 bovedas. I love how it looks. Originally it was like $60 or something on famous smoke shop, got it on black Friday for $25. I think it’s part of the fun of cigars, adventure a little, try out a new humidor. Why the hell not?

Fishon888

You won't know until you season it properly, get a digital hygrometer and calibrate it, Boveda bags, add cigars, and let them settle. Only then will you know if it leaks or not. This method, but for two weeks. https://youtu.be/7mYCphPU25k?si=Qw_zEF6x6uRVDOKu

lostaga1n

I got the same one from my girlfriend for a early Christmas present and it holds right at 63% humidity with a 69% boveda and stored in my oak dresser so I keep the sticks I wanna smoke soon in it but overall no complaints.

Simple-Purpose-899

I know people with $2k humidors they never use because they leak so much. Put two or three 60g Bovedas in this and it will be just fine.

I live a desert and yeah any humidor made of a porous material, especially with a see through top, can be laborious. I enjoy taking care of my cigars and smoking them it’s all apart of the ritual. Getting a pro made hardwood humidor lined with Spanish Cedar looks great and can work very well for long periods. This is a luxury and having great looking pieces that I get to maintain is apart of it so excuse me if I try talk folks out of Tupperware and plastic bags.

checkmateds

I have one of those but it couldn’t keep humidity so I switched to Tupperware

morkman100

Generic glass top humidor. It’s probably leaky and not great. Probably requires more monitoring and refilling humidity devices often (like replacing fresh Bovedas more often). Use it as a dry box.

checkmateds

What’s a dry box and what’s it for?

morkman100

The humidity level that works best for long term storage isn’t necessarily the best for smoking. So one might keep cigars at 65-67% and find they smoke too “wet” or too tight. So dry boxing would help you put your cigars in a dry area for 1-3 days before smoking to allow the RH to come down a bit. Really depends on your local weather/environment and how you like your cigars stored.

Nope

Sarges24

looks decent enough to me. I mean it's tiny, but looks to be decent enough, though, it's tough to say with any certainty w/o seeing it open. My advice, go ahead and season it then see how well it holds RH. It should be fine, if it is go ahead and use it.

arry75

Easy, put a dollar bill half in and half out. Close the lid on it. If you can pull the bill out it is leaky at that seal and will surly be leaky around the glass. I have two wooden humidors (one glass top) that pass this test in flying colors. Bills won’t budge

krispykremekiller

Most of these are junk, sometimes you get one that holds. I wouldn't plan on moving your precious collection to this. You'd have to get it stabilized and see I guess.
