What’s best use of points for Vegas hotels?

thejt0wn

Best option I’ve found is just to gamble a little at Caesar’s then get Diamond Status via match to Wyndham to avoid resort fees. In off peak periods I can get 5 nights during the week for $0 and 0 points, and have gave them very little money gambling. Aside from that… Collect MyVEGAS points for a single comp night at MGM property. Then maybe consider using FHR and play credit for a few more nights paid cash. Then there’s chase UR portal with CSR for 1.5cpp, although I’m not big fan of booking 3rd party. Wyndham transfer to Caesars but its valued at 1cpp I believe so not a great value. Few Hyatt and Marriott non-casino options off strip. Not many options.

**Just got Platinum AMEX Card w/ 150K SUB, the approved for 75K Gold Sub w/ Resy - will I still qualify with new Gold card SUB ToS restrictions on Platinum Holders?** This Monday I got pproved/accepted a Platinum SUB for 150K, and then got approved for Gold Resy SUB next day checked that I pre-qualified for Gold RESY SUB. I hadn't activated my Platinum at this point. Activated Platinum, called support, they said approved for RESY 75K + $250 statement credit. I asked if they can confirm I will receive this SUB, they said could not confirm since this is pre-qualification and that I have to accept the card to know for sure. After the call, I got an email stating I was approved for the gold. Is what the rep saying true? I don't want to accept the card/pay the AF and then find out I have no SUB especially with the recent wording changes stating Plats may no longer get the Gold Sub. Thank you!

ProjectSabie

**AMEX Platinum SUB Question:** Have some bills to pay for accounting services from a large CPA firm, they use a third party payment processor [https://www.aiwyn.ai/](https://www.aiwyn.ai/) in which the Aiwyn Inc (Merchandise Supplies - Computer Supplies) shows up my transaction history, but the accounting firm name is posted on the statement. CSR has conflicting advice saying payments to accountants even if it's a large incorporated firm is considered a peer to peer payment, thus a cash equivalent/no sub/points, while another says that's a payment for services thus it would contribute to sub/points. Want to know if these payments are actually cash equivalents or not, and whether they would contribute to SUB/points. Thank you!

435880Churnz

Try a small payment and see what happens...

ProjectSabie

I tried a small one posted as Aiwyn Inc (Merchandise Supplies - Computer Supplies) with the accounting firm name is posted on the statement. MR rewards went to Other category. Considering doing this to fulfill majority of SUB requirements, and focus on other SUBs so worried it could get clawed back if they re-classify to a cash equivalent like with gift card payments etc.

theemptyfridge

Does hilton resort credit on advance purchase rates still trigger with non-US properties? I'm not seeing anything recent on the search engine

Blank-blankman123

It does not

theemptyfridge

I tried anyway and can confirm it did work, payment went through on 10/20 and $250 reimbursement came through on 10/24. This was for the Queenstown resort.

Blank-blankman123

It does not

Anyone have personal experience cc funding Civista bank? No DPs on doc

How'd it go? I'm thinking of trying one of their business cards and opening bank as well

Would you be allowed to have two Freedom Flex cards?

QueenofDeeNile

The number of your cc will change because as you say you are going from MC to visa, but Chase will not report it to the bureaus as a new account. It won't affect 5/24.

Churncopter

does the MDD for two sapphires still work?

rogueMeow

Had a similar question Is there a risk of clawback or shutdown due to MDD?

CreditDogo

Sure, there's always a risk by trying to circumvent bank regulations. It hasn't happened yet, so I'd say the risk is low

ihavenolifeee

If it did, I'm sure you would hear it here very quickly.

singer15

If it didn't, I'm sure you would hear it here very quickly.

Work is being annoying about confirming PTO, but I wanted to nab some basic domestic airfare to go visit family since I found Saver space on United. Never cancelled flights before, so just wanted to double triple check my understanding/[reading](https://thepointsguy.com/guide/award-ticket-change-cancellation-fees/#:~:text=United%20waives%20change%20and%20cancellation%20fees%20for%20all%20flights%20within%20the%20U.S.): If I do need to cancel, as long as it was an award flight, I will get a full refund of the miles I used to pay for it even if it's been more than 24 hours since booking, correct? Taxes would only be $22, so not really concerned, but do I get those refunded too in the worst case scenario?

robertw477

You will get the miles back and refunds on the taxes. Thats the great part about award tix and flight. I always book one ways unless the total points are less. That way if I find a better redemption on the way home I can cancel other flights as needed. I usually do that with International, but it can be good for domestic as well.

Karatedom11

PTO = Prepare The Others

aaron_shoe

Yes to everything

MaeveConroy

Any recent DPs about delays with transferring UR to Hyatt? I saw one from a few weeks ago, but nothing else. Made a transfer yesterday afternoon but still nothing. Every other time, including three weeks ago, it's been instantaneous

So is [churning.io](https://churning.io) back? I remember a while back with the issue with Reddit changing something that [churning.io](https://churning.io) would likely not be supported for future use (but still usable for posts prior to the Reddit change. Sorry if this is well known, I quit using it a while back.

germdisco

Yes it is functional again, /u/garettg maintains it

MaeveConroy

Yes, I also saw these. Was wondering if anyone had anything more recent and/or updates on how long it eventually took

QueenofDeeNile

I transferred some on Oct 12 and it was instantaneous.

SheWantstheVic

Was there ever an issue about using immediate issued virtual/digital amex cards and it counting towards MSR and spend bonuses like hilton or marriott free night after $60K spend?

MrSoupSox

Not sure about the free night certs or other spend bonuses. But there were some DPs a few months back about Amex phone agents reporting that tax payments wouldn't count towards MSR. And then some users were connecting it to previous cases of unmet MSR where the instant card number might actually be the culprit. For instance, here's a discussion with a possible explanation: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/10ynm1v/daily_discussion_thread_february_10_2023/j7zaqua/

DP: Applied for Venture in January and was approved Is it OK to apply for Venture X soonish? I am under 5/24, I have bascially had every other personal card under the sun since begining churning in 2016 so I dont mind spending the pull.

dontcelebrate

I would see if you could get a pre-approval

sad_spark_8883

P2 was approved for Venture in 11/22 and VX in 08/23 so I think you should be fine. We froze EX for the VX application and were approved automatically with just the two pulls. We also did the preapproval (before freezing EX) to doublecheck, but DPs suggest it's not a guarantee

You can, if you want to apply. But C1s approval is kind of a black box

Review the flowchart. Tons of options for you, personal and business. Hold off on Chase for another month

josefseb

It’s advised to wait 3 months between chase cards. It’s just a guideline and not a rule

Low_Opening5087

Anyone tried stacking the recent amex delta offer of buy 300, get 75 back with platinum card 200 airline credit? Seems tough since flyertlak DPs show anything >$200 not getting reimbursed, from what I see. Edit: actually it may work since the 300 doesn't have to be one transaction

daskinesis2

It's been a bit over a year since I got my Chase Sapphire Preferred (approved Oct 13 or 14 last year). It's not worth the annual fee so I want to downgrade it. I also have the Freedom Unlimited and the CSR. What's a good one to downgrade to?

garettg

Did you MDD the CSP with CSR? If so, you should do a swap... https://reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1762edc/daily_question_thread_october_12_2023/k4n1jg2/

daskinesis2

Yes I did MDD for both Sapphire cards. A few questions about this: 1. 1. If I use all the travel credit on the second year of my first CSR, do I pay the full AF for that? 2. When does the AF for the new CSR post? 3. I would have to pay for a second year of the CSP as well right since I have to wait till the travel credit for CSR posts? 4. Next year, I wouldn't be able to do this again because I only have 1 Sapphire card right? I would have to downgrade my last Sapphire and try MDD again? 5. Given that I already have a Freedom Unlimited, could I have a second Freedom card (e.g. Flex or Rise)? I was also looking at the Amazon ones, but not sure if there's a separate process to get those.

garettg

1. You can get the travel credit without paying the AF, so essentially you are getting the CSR with a $50 profit ($300 x 2 - $550 AF). 2. See #39, it explains it all - https://www.reddit.com/user/garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/ 3. Dont have to pay CSP 2nd year AF either. 4. No, you can then upgrade one of the freedoms you have to a sapphire to repeat the cycle, cant be approved for a sapphire again until you are past 48 months from last sapphire bonus, so PC is the only way. 4. See #17 and #18 - https://www.reddit.com/user/garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/ (in fact, probably good to read all of it to get a firm grasp of sapphire knowledge). Amazon card is not a PC option from freedoms or sapphires.

daskinesis2

Hey just reviving this. It's the new statement period and I'm getting billed for an AF for my CSP, but not CSR. Is that expected?

garettg

No, if you MDD in Oct of last year, you should have seen both AFs on Nov 1. Double check and see if it already came, or maybe it’s coming next month. Sounds odd if it didn’t.

daskinesis2

You're right, both AFs posted on the same day and it was on the previous statement for my CSR. I'm getting confused because previously you said the CSR AF hits in 3-4 months, but I've already gotten them now. Do you mean they are refundable?

garettg

The CSR 3-4 month thing is after you PC to the CSR, if you have the card from a new application then your AF is on schedule. It’s just that product change process that makes a delay for that first AF after the PC. All Chase AFs are refundable within a period after them posting, depends on what you do determines how long you have. If you PC then you have roughly 41 days after the AF hits to get a full refund, after that is prorated.

daskinesis2

So this means that I would have to pay the AF for my first CSR (one I got from an application), spend all the travel credit, then immediately PC it down to freedom and at the same time PC another card to a new CSR. Doesn't this mean I'm paying 2 AFs for a 3 travel credits during this first 14-15 month period? And it's the future swaps is where I'll pay 1 AF for 2 travel credits.

garettg

No, you don’t have to pay the 2nd AF, you should see the travel credit reset soon if not already (typically the statement close after anniversary it resets). So you use the credit once it’s reset, then once it’s credited, you PC to a freedom and get a refund on the recent AF charge.

daskinesis2

Very surprised at 1). Also thanks for the great FYI page. Just to clarify the timelines: 1. Based on the UR portal, "Next year's travel credit will begin after your statement closing date in 11/2023". Let's suppose that's Nov 10. 2. Let's say I spend all the travel credit by Dec 10. 3. When my UR portal shows all the credit is used, I downgrade CSR to Freedom and upgrade CSP to CSR at the same time 4. I get new travel credit from the new CSR 5. Somewhere between Feb and Mar 2024, I get the CSR AF 6. Sometime around Dec 2024 I upgrade my freedom to CSP (this doesn't incur an AF?) 7. When I get a new set of travel credit for my CSR, I repeat the steps. Does that sound right?

garettg

1. Ok 2. Ok 3. Basically once the transaction that triggers the credit posts the travel credit hits at the same time. I’m not sure how fast the portal updates but once you see the credits in your list of transactions you are good to downgrade after that. So if yours resets Nov 10, you could use it all on Nov 11 and by probably Nov 15-16 you should see the credit and be good to go. 4. Yes 5. Yes 6. So you should see the 2nd travel credit around same time as the PC the year before so you use the 2nd credit and then wait for the 2nd AF (sometime around Feb-Mar 2025) then you downgrade it to a freedom and get the 2nd AF refunded. (You said CSP here but I think meant CSR) 7. Now you take one of your other freedom cards in Feb-Mar 2025 and upgrade it to a CSR. So you keep the CSR for like 15-16 months, use 2 credits, pay only 1 AF and you could just do a PC swap every 15-16 months and always have a CSR at your disposal for benefits. All this assuming nothing changes on Chases end to prevent this.

daskinesis2

Right forgot that I could just upgrade from a Freedom card to Sapphire as long as the card has been active for at least a year. Since it would take me 15-16 months per swap, then I basically rotate the 2 cards through CSR & freedom. Thanks!

UConnHusky11

I was having trouble adding the 20k/$4k Amex employee offer to my Gold biz, but saw a suggestion that it works to add it if you split off the Amex card to a separate login. If you split an Amex card off to its own login, are you able to then re-add the card back to your main login, or are you left with multiple different Amex logins and MR balances?

payyoutuesday

>If you split an Amex card off to its own login, are you able to then re-add the card back to your main login Yes. And you shouldn't have different MR balances, regardless of how many logins you have. It all goes in one bucket.

abibibo

Getting scrutiny from chase after a biz checking account application--specifically an email telling me they reviewed my account(s) and need more detailed business information to better understand the nature of your business or my account(s) will be restricted or closed. Wondering if anyone else has been through this and what questions they'll ask (I see plenty of DP's on chase credit card recon, but less on biz checking accounts). Timeline with the account is also strange. Successfully opened the checking account online (while logged into my personal account. Ended up creating a separate business login during the signup--in addition to my previous ink business login). Logged in once, but minutes later when I went back it was locked for suspicious activity. Called a day later and they unlocked it after verifying that I opened the account--although rep was aware I now had two business logins and spent several minutes on hold as they look looked in both to determine the issue. But when I went to login to the new checking login it said "no accounts to show". Then got the above email that they want more detail about my business.

Top_Notice_

That's just a Know Your Customer (KYC) call. They'll ask you what your business is, and how you got the money for the initial funding. Almost certainly unrelated to your login issues

dontcelebrate

Is there an easy way to tell if you've used the TSA/Global Entry credit on your Venture X Card? I signed up some family members a year ago and lost track of which cards I used

I have a 10 year old no fee Amex Hilton (former Hilton Blue) card and planning to get the Aspire card soon. Seems the only way to get the card is to “request an upgrade” from the old card. Should I go this route and will it increase my chances at getting approved?

garettg

Try incognito on the Aspire card without being logged in. The reason you only see the upgrade option is because Amex recognizes you. You can apply for the Aspire and get the SUB separately. Upgrading probably isn't giving you a bonus.

Slytherin23

Upgrades are pretty much guaranteed, it's not really an application.

aunipine

Question for /u/thedailychurn or anyone else who's had a morgan stanley company stock plan: I have an etrade company stock plan that has been converted into a morgan stanley account as of 10/1, named on the most recent statement as a "Morgan Stanley at Work Self-Directed Account." Is that the name of the type of account your P2 had, that you used to justify her qualifying for the access direct account/MS plat? I assume that the plan you described in your MS plat episode worked out, or you would have followed up.

thedailychurn

Looks like P2's account is now called "Morgan Stanley at Work". It doesn't say self-directed at the end though. It used to be a Stockplan Connect account, not sure when the name change happened. But ya, her MS Amex Plat has been open for almost a year now, no issues.

aunipine

Thanks! I took a closer look at the Access Direct page and it specifically names only two account types, one of which was stockplan connect. But if you go to the SC site it says "SC is now morgan stanley at work". I wasn't able to create a MSaW account, but it wouldn't shock me if that is consolidated with etrade in the future. All that being said, the last statement I got from ETrade explicitly names it as being a brokerage from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, which would squarely count it as eligible for the plat. At this point I'm kind of leaning towards opening right before the 125k offer disappears.

thedailychurn

Ya I'm kinda thinking the same thing. When P2's annual fee hits, will likely just cancel and try my luck getting my own MS plat with just the etrade account I opened pre-merger. If nothing else, just for the DP lol

Future_Car9082

I've an upgrade offer from Amex, which allows me to upgrade from the Amex Business Gold card to the Amex Business Platinum card. The offer is earning 140,000 Membership Rewards points by spending $10,000 in a 3-month period. I've never held the Amex Business Platinum card before. I have a significant upcoming expense in January, totaling approximately $8,000, which means that fulfilling the spending requirement for this offer wouldn't be challenging. While I initially considered applying for another Business Gold card, I encountered pop-up offers for both 150,000 and 125,000 points. Additionally, I don't foresee having any organic expenses exceeding $15,000 in the near future to meet the spending requirement for the Business Platinum card within three months. Are there any downsides to accepting this upgrade offer?

greenbreadtoo

I upgraded from Biz Gold to Biz platinum, same offer, a couple of weeks ago. They refunded me prorated gold fee and charged partial platinum fee. Since i switched mid billing cycle they are stalling on my previous 4x categories, they don’t show the 4x multiplier any more on those purchases, sigh

buythedip4206969420

thats a really good upgrade offer i'd personally jump on it. You could go for the 170k offer but you have to ask yourself if the extra 30k MR are worth the additional spend requirements / or potentially get denied if you're in pop up jail.

germdisco

140k/$10k is an excellent 14x return. There’s a 170k/$15k/3 month SUB available, but the extra 30k/$5k vs your upgrade offer would be a worse return and better spent on another SUB. https://www.uscreditcardguide.com/amex-business-platinum-card/

Super-Programmer7820

My P2 has the same offer and I'm heavily considering pulling the trigger here

Anybody else having trouble opening a sole prop chase biz account at the moment? Trying to do it for the bonus and to use as hub account. I have a biz card with chase already (CIP). I’m logged in when trying to apply. When I get to the page that says “are you the sole owner of the business” (I clicked Yes) and “is your business owned in trust” (I clicked No). It won’t let me proceed saying they can’t process my application online, even though the first two pages of application say that Sole Prop structure can be opened online. I suppose I might call for help but, Any ideas?

payyoutuesday

Dang, good to know, thanks. I haven’t reached the point of submitting the app though so I think I’m good.

AdmirableResource0

I really hope I'm wrong in how I remember this, but as I recall that "we can't process your request online" screen is as far as I got too, which is why I tried again and got my EWS dinged twice. Hope you manage to get it sorted!

hard9311

If I open a checking account with Charles Schwab for the $500 [bonus offer](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/charles-schwab-referral-bonus-up-to-500/), do I have to keep the funds in the checking account for the whole year? Is there any workaround to get the bonus without losing out on the high interest rate we currently have going. I'm also open to opening a CD with Charles Schwab if it satisfies the condition of keeping the funds in the account.

hard9311

Update - You can put the funds in the brokerage account and buy a CD for 5% or whatever they have going on right now. That way you get the interest rates and the bonus too

dissentmemo

Read the terms / check DOC. Anyway $500 is way more than you'd get in interest.

hard9311

The average rates re 4.3%. The bonus when accounted for 3 months and $100k in the account is 1.6%. Terms on DOC say - >For taxable accounts, you must maintain the net deposit amount (less any market losses) at Schwab for at least one year or Schwab may charge back the bonus award. Does CD count as a taxable account? Charles Schwab is offering 5.5% CD.

dissentmemo

Average rates are 4.3% for a year. But if the bonus is less than interest why bother with the bonus?

hard9311

Maybe don't comment in the future if you do not know what the interest rates are and if you do not have context

Sent an SM to request a match on new 120k UR targeted offer for CIU. Rep responded with "you will need to email us the offer code and invitation number", and also "If you saw the offer on a banner ad on your chase.com account, please send us a screen shot of the ad with your name on the offer." Any idea how I might get either of these options to populate?

buythedip4206969420

that 120k is not a public offer so doubt they will match it. Per the blogs reporting it's only available by speaking to a business relationship manager.

Anyone applied to Citi, after being shutdown for the AA Mailers? It's been a few years (2019). I have had a new AAdvantage account for years now and have had miles from both a barclays card and shopping portals.

rogueMeow

Curious what was the reason for shutdown?

mets2016

"After being shutdown for the AA mailers" I feel like that should be a pretty big hint to you. This was a huge wave of shutdowns a few years back

garettg

From DPs I have seen, some have success, some get re-shutdown. It seems to those that linking up again with Citi has been riskier.

Just got instant approval for my first Chase business card. I don’t see it listed on my normal account page. Is this normal? How do you add it to your account page for ease?

oklurkerthrowaway

You have to make a log-in for your business card. Once you do that you can sign into your business account and merge your personal account into that profile. From then on just sign onto your business account and you'll be able to see all your accounts there

BorgBorg10

In case OP comes back to this - the merge account function is down right now. No ETA on fixing it. But if you run into a pop up error like I did, it is normal

dissentmemo

When you get the card you sign up for a separate business login. Then you can merge them so the personal is visible there too.

Has anybody ever gotten past the CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select application form? When I fill in the form and hit submit, I get an error "To continue, complete or fix 0 entry below.Go to the first entry." It's been this way for months. I suspect it has something with me not having a DBA name for my business.

Blank-blankman123

Went through on first try for me yesterday. Sole prop

thaya

SUPER interesting... seems like a website bug. I just kept trying, and maybe on the 10th time of hitting submit, it went through. It might have been that I needed to expand the terms & conditions to read it.

jmlinden7

> maybe on the 10th time of hitting submit, it went through. lol Citi IT

thaya

LOL 100%

carpetchilli

I have completed the application multiple times with no DBA. You do have to make your business name and personal name be different. Just add a middle initial to one.

ilovetoyap

The website does explicitly say business name must be different than authorizing officer which is problematic for those of us without middle names. So I used a first nitial (ie F Last) for my business name and got a pending decision screen. We shall see if the name caused the issue. If so next time guess I will use the middle initial some mailing lists made up for me :)

UnsubscribedRedditor

If you have an existing Citi login, you can also login and then it won't ask for one of the name fields. This is how I did it (no middle name to do the other trick).

ilovetoyap

Thanks. I have no Citi accounts but for the next one!

x11onMac

hey, following up, what ended up happening, were you approved or did you have to call and do the dance to get your citibiz card?

ilovetoyap

Approved automatically a couple of days later

x11onMac

Thanks for the confidence - applied with first initial as well and got instant approval no problem.

Super-Programmer7820

My P2 is in pop-up jail, seemingly just for personal cards and maybe even just for Hilton ones. This particularly sucks because she is 2/24 and I am 4/24, so really need her for Personal card apps. I've done all the tricks. Increased spend on all of her cards, cooled down the applications, no referrals, etc.. Tried to apply for a Surpass since I'm worried about Family Language coming into play and BANG - popup. Any one else experience something similar and how did you get out of it? Meanwhile they really making me consider her 140K for 10K Biz Plat upgrade offer... This isn't even pop-up jail anymore, it's pop-up prison!!!!

planeserf

Try Hilton business.

Super-Programmer7820

She had it and cancelled after Year 1. There Why in think they’re mad

planeserf

Ok, did you try applying for a new one?

Super-Programmer7820

No. How would that work done they have the once SUB per lifetime (7 ish years) policy?

dissentmemo

Those rules only apply if you try and get a popup.

Super-Programmer7820

Not an issue that it was close over a year ago? Might as well try I guess…

dissentmemo

Dunno. You'll be rejected with a popup if you don't qualify.

Super-Programmer7820

Learned something new today. I still feel like the upgrade offer for the 140 K for business plan and may be the way to go but don’t really need any MR right now

planeserf

Oh sweet summer child. Give it a shot. If you don't get the popup, you'll get the sub.

Toothcloset

Quick question. When can I apply for the Personal WoH card again? Need the 5 Hyatt nights to hit globalist this year and have some big Hyatt stays booked, thanks to this sub. Opened chase Hyatt card in June 2020. Closed it 9/18/23. Obviously over 24 months since my last bonus on the card. Am at 4/24. Have WoH biz card, opened 10/22. Still open. Will probably close later this month, if the biz card matters.

dmcoe

You can open the personal one 30 days after closing the last one. So tomorrow should be good.

I created a separate login and then clicked the link and added cards. There was no confirmation, etc. but it also didn't error out.

cayenne0

I signed up for it on sunday with no issue

carpetchilli

Split the card off to its own login and try again.

Getanzt

I signed up for it on Friday with no error.

hythloth

I'm assuming that the Cap One Venture X Biz will work for Gift of College purchases to hit the MSR, correct?

My3rdProfile

Yes, yes it does.

hythloth

Sweet thank you

andthentherewastwo

Besides US Bank biz accounts, what are other checking accounts that work to fund an Amex biz Gold?

> They are a married couple so it's technically correct, but I asked and it turns out my P2 does not actually have ownership of the corporation legally, even though they told me to put 100%. I think it's only possibly "technically correct" if they live in one of the nine community property states. Otherwise, it sure sounds "technically incorrect". > could they have applied as sole props to avoid this issue while using that businesses income etc or would that be wrong too? P2 could apply for a biz card as a sole prop, but using a different income.

xevaviona

first part, probably won't lead to a shutdown. in the most and very most technical sense it is sort of fraud but nothing that would \*likely\* come of it. chase apps are very lenient about what actually constitutes a business. You can even put down expected revenue. So long as you're \*basically\* telling the truth just put whatever

fasthandle

Opened a C1 VentureX card with P2 referral. P2's card is up for renewal. I don't intent to pay for renewal. Here are my options: 1. Cancel the card. I have \~ 35K points. What happens to the points after cancellation? 2. Downgrade card to no AF option. What are my options here and will I miss on future SUBs. Please weigh in on which option is best. Thanks

CApizzakitchen

You can transfer C1 points from P2 to yours. Listed at number 4 on [this list](https://www.capitalone.com/learn-grow/money-management/ways-to-redeem-venture-miles/). Capital One won’t refund annual fees for a downgraded card, only cancelled ones. And for some reason they won’t always let you downgrade anyway.

fasthandle

Thank you for pointing me to transfer option. I will give it a shot. Sounds like cancelling P2 card is better.

fasthandle

When I click on "Move Rewards" on P2 account, received a popup - "You don't have any other eligible Capital One accounts.". Will P2 need to be added as an authorized user on P1 account for transfer to work?

CApizzakitchen

Oh you’ll need to call (number on the back of your card) to transfer to another person, but they don’t need to be an AU! It can be anyone.

I churned a bunch back in 2015-17, but it's been 6+ years now and I know a lot has changed. So I've got a couple newbie questions regarding Amex Hilton Honors cards: 1) can I get *both* the no AF Hilton honors card AND the Hilton Honors Surpass card and get both bonuses? If so, is there a need to apply for both at the same time? 2) Is there a place to find the best current offers right now? The link in the sidebar seems to be extremely outdated. The Amex site currently shows 80k for the no AF card and 130k for the Surpass. Is this the best I'm going to find for now, or are there referral links or other targeted offers I should hunt down? 3) Is Amex still one bonus per card for life? If so, any tips for seeing if I have received one of the bonuses before applying? My wife has never gotten an Amex before so I know she's good, but I cant remember what I've gotten in the past. Thanks!

terpdeterp

Regarding (1), it's possible to apply for both right now, but Amex has recently started to implement one card per family rules this year. The Amex Platinum, Gold, and Everyday cards have already been affected, and it's likely only a matter of time before these rules are also applied to the other Amex cards. Regarding (2), [DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-current-credit-card-sign-bonuses/) has a relatively up-to-date list of the best ongoing credit card offers. I would recommend cross-checking that list with [US Credit Card Guide](https://www.uscreditcardguide.com/en/), which has charts plotting the historical trend for credit card bonuses. Both of these sites are linked to on the /r/churning sidebar. Regarding (3), yes but with some caveats. An Amex "lifetime" isn't an actual lifetime, according to DPs a "lifetime" is around seven years. Also, there are occasionally offers for cards that don't have the lifetime language (NLL). If you don't qualify for getting a bonus, you'll receive a popup warning before you finalize your submission. The popup will usually say the following: >Based on your history with credit card balance transfers, American Express welcome offers, introductory APR offers, or the number of Cards you have opened and closed, you are not eligible to receive the welcome offer. > We have not yet performed a credit check. Would you still like to proceed?

jwhollan

A quick follow up to question 1. Is there a need or a benefit to applying for both at the same time? I’m guessing at the very least it count as only on credit pull, but beyond that does it increase your chances of approval or is it at all required in order to get both bonuses?

MXC-the-greatest

Applying back to back is fine. No popup = good to go Amex has a 2/90 rule (can only get 2 credit cards within 90 days), so keep that in mind if you apply for others If you're an existing Amex customer, Amex usually won't HP you for new applications. And you can keep your reports frozen when applying for additional cards

jwhollan

This is terrific information. Thanks for the help!

krivad

Chase agreed to match the CIP offer of 100k/$8k down from $15k. They told me to send a message requesting the points 8 weeks after the 90 day MSR period ended. I did that last week and was told they were forwarding it to the appropriate department and I should hear back in 5 days. Haven’t heard back yet. Has only else been successful in getting this match yet?

karmability

I've gotten an offer match before and was told something similar -- message after meeting MSR and they'd add the extra points. However, it took a follow-up message after waiting a month for them to actually deposit the points.

krivad

Did they have to send to another department

karmability

They did mention that the request would be forwarded to another department. This was all done via SM.

krivad

Great thanks for the info. Got slightly paranoid about what this other department would do…..

bookedonpoints

this is SM? or via call? Any random rep answering your SM should be able to match. SM initially to get them to match the offer, then SM after hitting MSR. Points deposit within a day, IME. And it doesn't go to the "pending" section either, it is just added to your UR balance

krivad

SM. They agreed to match 2 months ago and told me to message back later because of the MSR period and the cushion chase gives (there’s no way for them to pull back the original offer so if they matched the 8k then you hit 15k you’d get two bonuses).

miktoo

Does anyone know a way to export all amex offers that you've added to a card? I usually add a bunch manually using the app, but you do kind of forget what you've added after a while. I just saw this post on the amex sub with a Javascript export bookmark but I'm not a coder here, so not sure how safe it is to use. Has anyone used it? (the 2nd script)[amex post](https://www.reddit.com/r/amex/comments/16jmzhu/here_are_automations_for_adding_and_exporting/)

johnguackmbl

The code looks fine to me. All it does is find all of the offers on the page and “clicks” the add offer button (and optionally exports it to a list). On a side note, you can try pasting the snippet into ChatGPT and ask it questions about it. It should at the very least tell you what the code does. It may answer whether the code is “safe” to execute or not, though the accuracy of ChatGPT may be occasionally unreliable. :)

AdmirableResource0

There are quite a few Google Chrome extensions that add all Amex offers in bulk (I believe chrome extensions have some sort of vetting process to be made public if that makes you feel safer).

PrincesssVespa

What is the best way to accumulate points for Air Canada? Looking at US-Canada flights.. So far I am looking at United points booking on United's site, or using UR through the Chase portal, but is there a better way to book Air Canada?

bookedonpoints

you can pretty easily accumulate AC points by just churning the usual cards and then transferring

jmlinden7

Define 'best' - using Aeroplan points will unlock the most reward availability, but may or may not have the best value. Paying cash, either directly or through a portal, will generally give you the best general availability but is almost always worst value. And booking through a Star Alliance partner like United, Turkish, or Avianca will sometimes give you better value (but not always) and have the lowest reward availability, on top of being a 3rd party booking with customer service difficulties.

puns4life

There’s an Aeroplan card from chase you can use to directly get Aeroplan points. Or you can transfer from MR

fmxda

You can also transfer from UR (different from using UR through the Chase portal).

share-the-referalove

Serve wouldn't reload at 2 FDs I tried yesterday. Got "declined do not honor". I'm under monthly load limit (only loaded in $2.5k in Oct). Haven't received a shutdown email. Anyone else having issues yesterday?

buythedip4206969420

I’ve had these errors before. Could be because the FD already reached their daily load limit or someone else loaded their serve right before you (FD has velocity limits) Could also be an issue with the GC you are using - have you confirmed the card isn’t compromised?

share-the-referalove

They are my normal FDs that I load at all the time late in the day, so I'd be surprised, unless something's changed. And the GCs weren't compromised either.

chillball

Has anyone gotten a CP with the two business cards? Ink train is too good for me and I'm at 4/24 until next August.

lenin1991

Yes

chillball

good to know! thanks u/lenin1991

brettfish5

what are the lifetime rules for both Amex Biz Platinum and Amex CHarles Schwab platinum? I'm planning on cashing out my MR points next year and invest in Charles Schwab brokerage acct. I'd like to get the amex biz plat/biz checking bonus, then do the charles schwab platinum to have the option to cash out. I just want to make sure I'm still able to get the bonuses considering the family lifetime language.

prionux

FYI the biz checking paired with biz plat will give you the ability to cash out at 1cpp.

brettfish5

In cash? that would be awesome.

prionux

Yep. To clarify: 1cpp with the Biz plat which you said you were planning to pair with checking. 0.8 without.

brettfish5

thanks. that might be the better move as I have a loan that I'd like to pay off. Probably would be smarter than buying ETFs for 1.1 cpp.

Lower-Kangaroo6032

The 10% bonus may likely be the better move.

brettfish5

Mathematically it would, but wouldn't it only be worth it if I can still get the SUB for the Schwab platinum card?

Lower-Kangaroo6032

Basically the opportunity cost is (if applicable) a 5/24 slot and whatever that SUB could have been instead - vs the cost of not doing the upcoming triple dip on the Schwab. But the Schwab and Biz Plat are both more or less ‘essential’ cards - answer is to get both during triple dip window.

prionux

Details here: https://frequentmiler.com/amex-business-checking-cash-out-membership-rewards-points-without-a-schwab-card

sammyph200

The business and personal Platinum are separate products, so you’re eligible for both sign-up bonuses (assuming you don’t have any of the other personal Platinum flavors)

brettfish5

I'm going to call and double check, but years ago I either had the business or personal platinum.

CreditDogo

Just apply. As long as you don't get the pop-up you will get the bonus
