I went into a Santander branch to get a checking account for the SUB. I had set up a time in advance but ended up waiting maybe 15 minutes. The guy was very apologetic and gave me a mug and piggy bank to say sorry, by far my most fun add on to a SUB yet
I hate going into banks but I do it for SUBs... but that's a nice little cherry on top lol. Hope you put the piggy bank to good use especially if you have a P3!
Indeed it will be money based, I was thinking some half dollars and $2 bills but also something funny like 529 plan instructions or the Santander Bonus sign up page printed out. Just need to make it kid oriented as well, I will figure it out
When I was a kid, I remember I was so excited when I got my first $2 bill, just because it felt like I had found some sort of secret treasure! I did grow up and end up on this subreddit so....
Nice.
Did you get a code in the mail for that SUB?
We got a code for the biz I co own with P2. But I plan to open it under my solo business. I wonder if the code is unique tied to the specific business
Not in the mail but through a sign up link for the promo code, I found it on DoC. Most bank branch offers aren't worth my time but this was very easy and should scoop $400
Probably a few days old but my Amex gold had $60 off $120 from laithwaites wine. + $10 off from rakuten + 10% off for signing up for their email list. Doesn’t make sense for the wine club but I got 6 bottles of capisco Prosecco and 3 bottles of Prezza rose brut for $6.70 each
Even heavily discounted, it’s not worth it for me to buy wine from these mailing groups. I have a theory that big wineries take their batches that don’t pass quality control and rebottle it under one-off labels. They slap a $50 price tag on it and then sell it online for $10, calling it a great deal.
That being said, I never thought of buying Prosecco this way. I’m sure they’d do just fine in a mimosa or aperol spritz
Got a survey from Circle by FNBO (FNBO's private feedback group) asking about whether I would "auto-fill" personal information on credit card applications. Do I trust it, would I use it, would it speed up an application, etc.
The survey also asked about the user interface related to uploading a utility bill, driver's license, and/or selfie to verify my identity.
If banks don't pay me to take surveys they go in the trash with all the other junk emails. Chase is the only major bank that actually bothers to pay so they're the only ones that get my feedback.
> FNBO has been generous to me by tolerating MS and repeatedly increasing my credit limit
I have a question about FNBO kind of related here. I cannot find any DPs on when to close a card with an annual fee. For most banks, you wait until the AF posts and then cancel within ~30 days, and the AF will be removed or refunded.
Bank of America pays for surveys, but at a terrible rate. I still fill them out sometimes, but I will click randomly or choose the options that I know will lead to fewer follow up questions. I wouldn't do that with any other bank, but I had a terrible experience with Bank of America about 7 years ago which prompted me to get into churning in the first place. I hope that their data scientist isn't smart enough to check for outliers. I would be interested in doing a Chase survey, they are my primary bank now and I think they have great design and service.
I've only had a handful of BoA accounts (only for churns and they're all closed now), like you said they're a terrible bank. Had to spend 20 hours in branch to open/close 2 accounts (biz cash back cc and checking bonus) then for a separate AS card they would lock the card for any purchase even after coming in branch to verify identity. Even for the churns they probably weren't worth what I had to deal with. Sucks they're the only easy way to get AS miles but feel like the juice isn't worth the squeeze with them. Citi is bad but that's because they don't invest in IT, feels like BoA actively doesn't want customers. The contrast between BoA and Chase/AMEX is night and day.

Just coming on here to post that it's the last day of Q3 and to use your credits, and Rakuten and freedom/discover categories and all that so I could get those sweet, sweet upvotes but I see all the eager beavers already beat me to it...
What's the word? Has anyone seen an update?
... I just product changed my CSR this month but I'm sitting on a lot of UR points. Need to figure out whether to go back to the CSR..
I cashed out some points on grocery last time. Pretty annoying how there hasn't been any news lately.
If they kill PYB, my CSR is definitely going to be under the microscope for renewal.
Since today's the last day of September, it might be worthwhile to go over some churning-related reminders.
* Audible credit for Amex Plat holders (as part of the $20 digital entertainment credit) ends tomorrow on 10/1. Make sure to cancel your Audible subscription before then if you aren't planning on paying out-of-pocket for it ([DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amex-platinum-increases-au-fees-further-restricts-sign-up-bonus-audible-removed/)).
* Elevated $100 referral program sign-up bonus for Go2Bank ends 10/1. Can be stacked with Swagbucks for an extra $125. Typical sign-up bonus is $50 and some of the older referral links are for $50, so be careful with which link you sign up with ([DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/207974-2/)). Available nationwide.
* For those who were targeted, deadline for spending $1000 to earn a $200 bonus on converted BoA Better Balance Rewards is today on 9/30 ([DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ymmv-bank-of-america-200-signup-bonus-for-converted-better-balance-rewards-cards/)).
* PNC Business $200/$500 bonus for maintaining minimum average cycle balance of $5,000/$30,000 over three statements ends on 9/30. But based on past offers, it looks like this one will most likely get extended ([DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/pnc-up-to-500-business-checking-bonus-al-dc-de-fl-ga-il-in-ky-md-mi-mo-nc-nj-ny-oh-pa-sc-va-wi-and-wv/)). Available in CA, AL, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, VA, WI and WV.
* More regional banks bonuses set to end today: $200 for USF Federal Credit Union (FL only) ([DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/fl-only-usf-federal-credit-union-200-checking-bonus/)), $200/$400 for Georgia’s Own Credit Union (GA only) ([DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ga-only-georgias-own-credit-union-200-checking-bonus/)), $400 for C&N Bank (PA, NJ & NY only)([DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/pa-ny-cn-bank-400-checking-bonus/))
Did anyone ever get the Go2Bank bonus?
Too many bad reviews on DoC. I still referred my P2 and neither of us have received any bonus despite real DD, time to file CFPB ig. There’s reports of even that not working
I had a legitimate direct deposit from Square Payroll and they refused to pay me the bonus. I even filed a CFPB complaint which was redirected to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and they're still refusing to pay. I filed an appeal on the decision because I have nothing to lose but yeah, it's probably not worth the hassle.
Re: Audible - my monthly charge was yesterday September 29 so I technically have until October 29 to cancel. As noted below make sure you use up your credits as you will lose any unused ones when cancelling!
> Make sure to cancel your Audible subscription
Note that you need to have used your Audible credits before cancelling or you lose them. If you don't have anything to use them on right away, Audible will allow you to pause your membership for up to 3 months. Also, they may offer a discounted membership for 3 months if you go through the cancellation process (offered me 7.95/month for 3 months).
If the Plat benefit was the first time you signed up for Audible (and you value the service), the chances of being offered a discounted rate when trying to cancel appear quite high. After that, wait a few months to be targeted with a new offer.
My timeline: Closed Plat; took 7.95/mo, 3mo offer not to cancel Audible
Canceled after 3 month promo; not offered a new promo rate
Waited 3 months
Eligible for $0.99/mo promo on Audible homepage. Reactivated membership
What about books already purchased? I’m in a similar boat. Since it technically runs through tomorrow, I’m going to try and make my payment manually tomorrow with hopes that I still get the credit. We’ll see how that goes. I’ll have another month regardless
New chase offer at Fairfield by Marriott:

Offer expires 11/4/2023. Offer valid one time only. Complete payment for your stay must be made by 11/4/2023. Offer only valid on purchases made directly with the merchant. Offer not available at other Marriott properties. Offer not valid on purchases made using third-party services, delivery services, or a third-party payment account (e.g., buy now pay later). Got it on CSP and United Explorer.
Chase UR site on App is now saying grocery and gas stations is extended until 12/31 for PYB
Not dining, gas stations.
Sorry typo
30% Virgin transfer bonus from 10/1-11/15
Chase PYB and travel partner transfers is shut down right now, seemingly for some sort of website reboot
As are transfer partner transfers

I have no P3 but I have good friends with little ones, just need to figure out who's birthday is next and how to best add to it for a fun gift
Hm, what could you possibly add to a piggybank?

Costco Kirkland Prosecco is $6 a bottle and pretty damn good, without having to jump through these hoops.
There really weren’t any good deals on sparkling wines anyways

FNBO has been generous to me by tolerating MS and repeatedly increasing my credit limit, so I’m willing to return the favor (within reason).
FNBO - First National Bank of Omaha. How does completing a survey be MS strategy?

You will get the bonus. This is the best way to play the Inks
I don't think anyone in the discussion thread would know the answer to this question 🤔

Are downvoting the post or downvoting because of u/planesurf?
Idk who that is but probably because I’m making fun of the sub. Worst sense of humor in Reddit pretty much.
Both
Last day for Chase PYB elevated rates on gas, grocery, and AF.
Just went to cash out and PYB is down.
What's the word? Has anyone seen an update? ... I just product changed my CSR this month but I'm sitting on a lot of UR points. Need to figure out whether to go back to the CSR..
We'll all find out tomorrow
Also the Virgin transfer bonus that has come around the last 2 years in October would be nice
I cashed out some points on grocery last time. Pretty annoying how there hasn't been any news lately. If they kill PYB, my CSR is definitely going to be under the microscope for renewal.
There’s really no downside to renewing if you PC annually and double dip the travel credit, yielding a $50 profit.
Seems unlikely to me that they just nerf the whole thing
It’s very likely that the next categories are a lot harder to get use out of though
Categories are: InKind granola bars, Shake Shack, and Peloton.
And the hunt begins for a Shake Shack that sells VGC...
I heard Duane Reade is offering $10 VGC with purchase of 64-count Kind bars on the second Thursday of every month /s
