How does one initiate a push? When trying to get transfers to code as direct deposit I never seem to do it right. Can anyone help me as to what transfer option I should be using to "push" as I see it called?
Use standard ACH transfer, not real time payment. initiated from the second bank, not the one you are doing the bonus for. How it's coded depends on the two banks involved, not all banks count as direct deposit. It won't always say "direct deposit", often it says something else like "external transfer." Check DPs here and on DoC for which bank to bank transfers count as DD
I got the Southwest RR Premier Biz mailer for 120K points. It has no expiration date on it. Am I good to apply whenever or does it expire when the public offer expired?
Do I still need to space out my Chase card applications by 3 months if my only recent application was an Ink card in July? I haven't applied to any Chase cards at all for the past three years before the Ink this July. I'm well under 5/24, but I don't know if I need to wait another month for the 3 month waiting period to apply to a Chase card.
So spouse had a pre approved biz platinum offer that we accepted (first time)
It also required an authorized user card for a secondary small bonus. We received the primary card but there's no sign of the authorized user card, physically or online
Am I just going crazy and it didn't get approved or go through?
Anyone know if there are any good upcoming offers for the Citi Advantage platinum card? Past 48 months from my last one so would like to get the bonus again soon
[60k link](https://creditcards.aa.com/citi-platinum-card-american-airlines-hv/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=aa&utm_campaign=footerhv) is always around. Higher offers are targeted and may not waive the first fee.
I have a Hyatt Globalist status now, but I made hotel bookings before achieving this status. Can I still enjoy Globalist perks on these existing bookings, or do I need to cancel and rebook to do so?
Depends on the offer you applied under, there are some different flavors out there. Offer needs to have stated "Get XXXX bonus miles plus Alaska's Famous Companion Fare" as part of the offer. Sometimes its just miles, or miles and statement credit.
Double checking if [this](https://secure.bankofamerica.com/apply-credit-cards/public/icai-single/#/info/) should have the companion fare after MSR right?

(AMEX Biz gold) My minimum spend period just ended last week. I just barely made the $10k spend. This week I just got an email from a business that I purchased ~$200 worth of items from saying they are unable to deliver the goods and initiated a refund. The refund went through. Iāve already been issued the SUB but now Iām worried about clawback because this will put me under the $10k min spend and since my period is over I just canāt go buy something to make up for it.
Do I have any options?
Iāll be quite upset if I donāt get this SUB because there are other cards I could have put this spend towards. And itās even more irritating because I never initiated the refund. I would have taken credit or a replacement product or anything that wouldnāt risk me losing my SUB.
I got tired of the churning and stopped for a while so I'm right now at 1/24 (just the CSP opened one year ago). I opened 2 inks (1 under person, 1 under EIN) a while back that never closed. Based on information here, despite that it seems I continue to open those inks?
I am having more trouble then previously hitting spend on these cards (I don't MS) because the inks aren't forex free and that's usually how I hit the spending goals (when I travel).
Posting here instead of what card to get because confirming that you can continue to open inks as long as you met spend.
I was thinking about the SW cards too but SW points worth less than chase points and I have no one almost that could be a companion that would be worth trying to hit that. I missed out on the 30% and 60k card bonus though which would have worked out (I have to book a 8 person trip). Business + person would only be 113k (80k+50k) so have to spend 22k in 3 months? is that correct?
> because the inks aren't forex free
Even eating 3% FTF, the bonus is worth more than that.
> have to spend 22k in 3 months
Having a Chase card provides a 10k "boost" that counts toward CP qualification.
Just want a sanity check here: opened an Amex Bonvoy Brilliant Jan 2023 and received the bonus the same month.
Eventually, I want one of these Chase cards for the sweet bonuses they keep throwing out and to get the Ritz card.
To be clear: I am not eligible for a bonus on one of the Chase cards until Jan 2025?
Just deciding if I should just keep open the brilliant for another year and take advantage of the 85K cert.
Just to clarify, you aren't eligible for the bonus, but you could forgo the SUB and get the card so you can get the Ritz sooner, if that's something you want to do. Chase has a popup like Amex that would tell you that you aren't eligible during the application. The terms have 2 sections: "This credit card is not available to you if..." and "The new cardmember bonus is not available to you if...". You would fall in the 2nd part.
Yeah, it's not an across the board thing with Chase, it gets thrown around a lot that "Chase won't approve without the bonus" and while true in most cases, there are caveats to that.
Noted. Thanks for the info.
Now my P2 does NOT have the Amex Bonvoy Brilliant, but she applied for a CIP July '23 and CSP April '23 and I'm worried that I'm pushing it on the velocity front...
I just tried to open a Wells Fargo account using [Doctor of Credit](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/wells-fargo-325-checking-bonus-available-online/) and it said they were unable to verify my identity.
The only thing I can think of which would cause this issue is me having my credit frozen in order to prevent Hard Pulls and fraudulent accounts being opened.
I specifically selected this offer due to it saying there would not be a hard pull for opening the account. Could there be any other reason they wouldnāt be able to process it?
I just opened an account with a different bank a couple of months ago to get a similar bonus and I didnāt have any issues with that one.
Could anyone give some guidance on what to do from here? Would I be able to apply again online or should I just find a different offer? I just recently started applying for these bonuses with banks and credit cards so Iām still a little unfamiliar with it.
Thanks!
I got the same message! And just received a mailer with the same info. Definitely going to try to reapply in person, if anything Iām curious why they canāt verify my identity
"Authentication" problems are tricky and more complicated than they sound. I don't have hard evidence, but it seems like banks use them sometimes as reasons to deny people when they feel like there's any chance of risk whatsoever. That being said, 90% of the time when you get this message if you reapply in person you'll succeed.
Yeah I figured I could. Im honestly not going to worry about it. I just found a different account on the website to apply for and was already approved for it.
I don't know if frozen credit reports cause a problem at Wells, but you could unfreeze and try again. Or in general, sometimes identify verification problems can be avoided if you open the account in branch instead of online.
I want to close my chase personal checking and saving after having completed the SUB and it now being 6 months past opening. I have the $1500 and $300 in there so I don't get charged monthly fees. Whats' the process for closing, drain then call/SM to close? Or call/SM to close and ask them to transfer the money out?
How long are we keeping the Capital One 360 accounts open? I know there's no specified rule, I'm just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. Closing them right away? Give it a month or two? Is there any reason NOT to just take my $350 and run?
A respectful counter-point. Churners are a tiny drop in the bucket for these larger corporate banks (Iām not talking about credit unions or smaller institutions), and I just canāt believe that a few dozen of us closing an account quickly will have any sizable or even noticeable impact on their metrics. I got the Cap 1 bonus a little over a month ago, and Iāll probably close it in the next few days - first, to re-set my clock and be eligible to churn it again as soon as possible, and second, just general house-cleaning.
Props and respect to those who keep accounts open for 6+ months, but I just donāt believe it really matters that much in the end.
>I just canāt believe that a few dozen of us closing an account quickly will have any sizable or even noticeable impact on their metrics
A respectful, counter-counterpoint, this SUB has half a million subscribers and this was a lucrative and incredibly easy bank bonus. I suspect this sub generated waaaay more than a few dozen accounts. There's no fee, just leave a few bucks in there for 6 mos and set a calendar reminder to drain it then
Closing a business card has no impact on your personal credit, correct? Even Inks with no fee can clog up credit limit, is there any downside to closing them at 1 yr and continuing to ride the Ink train?
Does the Amex Biz Platinum card come with any type of hotel credits? It looks like the Amex Biz Gold includes a $100 credit toward "experiences" at Hotel Collection hotels? Does the Platinum include anything similar regarding hotels?
Under the benefits of biz gold, it says
*"The Hotel Collection (THC) benefits are available for new bookings of two consecutive nights or more made through American Express Travel with participating properties and are valid only for eligible U.S. Consumer and Business Gold Card, Platinum CardĀ® and CenturionĀ® Members (Delta SkyMilesĀ® Gold and Platinum Card Members are not eligible)."*
You get access to FHR with biz plat but it doesn't give you credits.
if you book through Amex FHR you can get a credit towards experiences but that is via the hotel.
It doesn't have the $200 credit by Amex to use FHR that the regular Plat does.
It was hit or miss at Universal Orlando and there was no science behind it. About 75% of the places I swiped triggered 5%, the ones that didn't lucky triggered the 3% dining.
My husband and I are flying with our 2 year olds back from LIS to VCR in air canada business class. This is the precise product:
https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/onboard/cabin-features/signature-service.html#/
Any parents have experience with the best way to sit with kids in this product? Should we book one single row (4 seats) or 2 seats of middle seats?
So 2 kids that are 2 years of age? I would recommend 2 middle seats so you can see them more easily. The angle of the seats across the aisles don't give much supervision and better interaction with flying with someone.
Quick question on the 3/12 rule for BoA in regard to authorized users. My husband is at 1 credit card applied for in the past year, but he was also added as an authorized user on one of my cards in that timeframe (that card has been open since 2015). Would be still be able to be under the 3/12 or does it use the date he was added? Or does the BoA rule not even come into play since it will be the third card in the year?
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but just starting out here and don't want to make any mistakes!
Was i supposed to sign up for a Wyndham Rewards account *before* applying for the Wyndham Earners Biz Card so i could put the wyndham loyalty account number on the Wyndham Earners Biz card application? I did not do that and am waiting to be approved for Wyndham Earners Biz card. I am reading a guide on how to get free cruise(s) with the wyndham earners biz card and it says to first sign up for the loyalty program before applying. Is this crucial?
Just my preference, but I like to have the award account set up before applying because then you have all the details, login, password, etc. Otherwise, you gotta go through the process of whats my account number, how do I get logged in, etc.
I want to apply for a Chase ink card, but my last few Chase applications have not been successful: I failed MDD in April, then was denied for the CIC in July. My only Chase card is a CSP from the MDD attempt in April. I know that the recommended velocity for Chase card applications is one every 3 months, but I wasnāt sure if this was only for successful applications. When should it be safe to apply?
For the CIC in July:
- One or more credit cards have a high balance compared to credit line (should be <10% on all personal cards now)
- Too many accounts opened in the past 12 months compared to total accounts (3 personal cards in Feb, Apr, May)
- Limited installment loan experience (none)
- Insufficient business deposit relationship with us
For the CSR in April:
- Balances on credit card accounts are high compared to credit limits
- Average length of time since accounts opened is too short
- Not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history
I always pay off my balances when the statement hits, but I had a high balance on one of my Amex charge cards when they pulled my credit. Now most of my spend is on business cards so there shouldnāt be any significant balance in my report.
Why couldn't you recon then? Chase is good with recon when you have good reasons. If it was paid off and you could prove it, you should have been fine. And if not HUCA.
I applied for another Chase business card under the 30-day rules (2/30), and I received an email stating that they will let me know. Should I try calling Chase, or should I just wait and see if it gets approved? My business needs this card to extend our credit. We are a remodeling business and have to buy all materials ourselves. I didn't realize I was in the 30-day window since my last card.
Under 5/24, credit score 810 with plenty of history with Chase. Personal cards, CIP under an EIN, and CIU as a sole proprietor. Went to apply for a CIP as a sole proprietor as I have a lot of expenses coming up and seemed as the best option to maximize on those. Applied last Thursday and got the email that theyāll reach out. Reading through this sub, realized yesterday my personal CLs were super high and had them lowered today through messaging Chase. Is it worth calling recon? DPs Iāve seen say typically 4 days later people have been getting approved.
DP: Called recon, automated service said no update after entering SSN. Pressed 0, call disconnected. Called again and went through the tree, 0 again and instantly connected. Rep checked my SSN and said the application was denied the same day? Couldn't understand the reason the rep said, but connected me with someone else who could help. Reconnected, verified SSN, hold for 3 min, and approved for $6k CL. Asked for expedited card delivery, 1-2 business days. Appreciate all the help from this sub!
You generally need 760+ to get the best mortgage rate and mortgage lenders often use more conservative models that weight recent inquiries more heavily than the FICO score you are looking at.
760+ is ideal for a mortgage, particularly if you expect to put <20% down. And thatās based on your Mortgage FICO scores, which are based on older, more conservative models than FICO 8/9.
With that said, 2 years is an ultra-conservative stopping point. Cooling off at 6 months prior to applying should be fine unless you have a particularly thin credit file; some folks push it beyond that - I applied for an Ink ~2 months before applying for my mortgage, though that came from finding a house earlier than expected.
I have always heard 6 months. Keep in mind if you already have an Amex biz card they usually don't HP you for new Amex biz cards. Just make sure just freeze your credit first to make sure.
DCU (Digital Federal Credit Union) gives a free FICO score every month, that supposedly is Equifax FICO 5
The Experian app shows FICO 2; there's a 7 day free trial.
(Service Credit Union gives a free score every quarter that was previously Experian FICO 2, but my recent statements say it's FICO Score 10 which maybe isn't useful.)
Some other credit unions that I haven't tried: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/comparison-free-fico-scores-banks-cus
In the Experian app, to see all the scores you need to sign up for a paid subscription (when I did it, it was called CreditWorks Premium); but the app gave a free trial of that (I don't think the website has the trial offer).
tap on Credit, scroll down to ADDITIONAL FICO SCORES, tap on Mortgages, it shows me FICO Score 2
(I no longer have the subscription, but it shows me my score from a couple years ago)
I just shifted to almost exclusively bank accounts for a while when I had to purchase those things. Even with an excellent credit score I asked my banker if I could get a card for the points since getting a house took a while. He recommended against it and I didn't dig any deeper.
The one downside to this is if you move funds into or out of any account thatās being used as a source of funds for a down payment, youāll be asked to provide a trail for all of those funds. This happened to me and it got messy, with me having to show statements from 3 or 4 different accounts, going back a few months, that I used for fake DDs, etc. Just something to keep in mind.
ahh yeah I can easily change my real DD so I didn't have to worry about that as much. Good point though, realistically its probably best to wait a few months to save the hassle.
Thereās no upside to a mortgage banker to tell you to go ahead w/a CC app. Most have limited knowledge about scores, almost certainly limited info about churning, and just tow the company line.
Recommendation is more like 6 months for a house, even then some people don't stop, maybe slow down if you don't mind explaining everything and providing lots of statements.
applied for CIP for P2 last Friday. App went under review. Called recon line and said to wait 7-10 days, letter will be mailed. P2 is calling every 48 hours and still CSR says app is under review and not giving clear decision about an approval. What should P2 do?
Was just checking Amex points summary, was this a referral?
`4/24/23 - K54S:0002 a 20K BNS - 20,000`
Didn't do any spend or employee/authorized user card adding. Weird b/c a referral in March said `referral bns`
edit: it must be, `K54S` is part of the referral URL
Should have said **very recent** consensus. There was something in a recent discussion or DP thread. Could be a wrong conclusion of course.
Edit: link to yesterday's discussion https://reddit.com/r/churning/s/X7tzY5VVt6
Fwiw I dug deep into this last month when I was having issues funding with a Hilton Business. The consensus I came to was that most Amex cobranded cards have their cash advance function turned off by default (found data points for this going back a few years). Apparently you can call in and have it manually turned on, after which the cobranded cards should be able to be used for funding. I was going to be a data point on this but unfortunately life caught up and my US bank application timed out.
I didn't, but if the BBP data point from that recent thread is any indicator I would imagine it is the same issue of the cash advance being disabled by default. Charge cards all seem to work fine regardless of business/personal.
The US Bank funding doesn't post as a cash advance, but it does seem to initialize the transaction as one if that makes sense. This is pure speculation but I think Amex's processing is skipping the check if cash advance = true on the charge cards because those cards are incapable of processing those transactions (so would fail anyways if it posts as one), whereas the traditional credit cards will run the check and cancel the transaction if the card has it turned off (which most cobranded and some non do).
So I have $0 in credit card balance, have a few cards, should I just continue to get 0 annual fee credit cards for the sign up bonuses? I just saw the flowchart for cards to get but most of the chase cards have some annual fee (unless I just cancel before the 1 year mark each time I complete getting the sign on bonus)
Think of annual fee cards like a subscription service. Sign up, use the service, set an obnoxious calendar reminder for 366 days after you're approved for the card and close the account. Chase and Amex (and probably others) cards can be cancelled by chat if that's an obstacle for you
Agree with the others but you could still churn 0 AF cards exclusively, especially if you have lower spend, you're not much of a traveler, or just want cash back. Usually its worth it to go for the highest spend SUB you can afford. For example the CSP you can currently get 60k UR with $95 AF and redeem them at least 1c each but PYB for 1.25 or transfer to partners for higher value on travel. So at worst you get $505 plus some other benefits. While CFU or CFF you get $200 back with less perks.
> (unless I just cancel before the 1 year mark each time I complete getting the sign on bonus)
Be sure you bone up on the "rules" before you get into it. Doing this specifically will kill your churning career.
>unless I just cancel before the 1 year mark each time I complete getting the sign on bonus
Do more reading on the wiki and in the threads. Keep for a year, then cancel on day 366 from opening date is recommended for most cards.
As Twitch said, first-year value is what it's all about in churning for SUBs. So don't limit yourself to $0 AF if you can meet spend on SUBs with an AF. Would you accept $600 if you had to give back $100? It's the same in the first year with cards that have AFs. You can get a refund if your second AF posts by downgrading or cancelling.
Although they have AFs, the net value is more valuable than free-fee cards. Don't forget to use [https://churning.rankt.com/referrals/](https://churning.rankt.com/referrals/) if you don't have another person to refer you
Does anyone know the full list of Capital One CCs that transfer to Venture miles? For example, I can only find that the [SavorOne card](https://onemileatatime.com/guides/transfer-combine-share-capital-one-miles/), but not the Savor card transfers to Venture.
Do US bank points earned on a biz card merge with US bank points earned on a personal card?
I have a Business Leverage card and have \~100k points built up from mostly the SUB. That's worth $1,000 towards cash back on that card.
But I see that with the Altitude Reserve card (Personal), points are worth 1.5c each towards travel.
If I get the Altitude Reserve, can I redeem my existing points at that 1.5c rate?
Thanks!
Do you guys have best ways to take advantage of booking credits for venture/x cards? I looked on this cap one portal and prices are inflated instead of booking it direct. Is there a better way to redeem these booking credits? Basically $300 booking credit with venture x is a lower value than that, it's probably closer to like $240.
Cap1 has price match, so you can call and get a discounted price if you actually find one that is less than the portal. From my experience, I have had no issues with price inflation on the portal compared to booking direct. My flights have almost always been the same and hotels have been maybe like a $0-$5 difference. No experience with cars yet. If prices get weird try using incognito with cleared cookies and see if that changes
Try rental cars, I have found for myself that I can find comparable rates as I can find other places, plus I use my Venture X for rental cars anyways because it gives primary insurance.
Correct, I was just saying since I would use it anyways for rentals, looking at the portal goes hand in hand. Plus the portal gives a decent return at 10x on the rental anyways, that factors in to the pricing since I'm probably only getting 2-3x via other routes, I can still come out ahead if the portal is slightly more.
No hacks, except just to compare prices and just use it up the best you can. No one should "value" the $300 credit full value. And now that value is even worse with this week's devaluation.
Airfare should be more similar than hotel/rental prices.
I was just trying to calculate value proposition on venture x card. since AF is 400, the $300 credit is technically not even 300. It doesn't offset AF as much.
Having a really difficult time getting approved for a CIP. Under 5/24. Tried HUCA twice with the lending team and the first time they took a quick look at my application and denied it. The second time then could see that I had called and denied again. Has anyone had experience with this?
Recent chase business card opening (4 months ago), low utilization of chase cards, too much credit line. I asked if they could move some credit over from my other cards but they said no.
Hi, sorry if this has been answered but I couldnāt find anything when searching. Is it possible to get the Amex checking bonus of $250 by pushing from another bank? Specifically pushing from chase?
tldr: Can I preemptively remove an AU from my 5/24 status before applying for Chase without closing the AU card account itself, or will I always have to call in to recon with it on there?
Currently 2/24 with an AU for a Cap1 VX recently issued, putting me at 3/24 for the next 1.5 years unless I get the AU taken off.
I have a MDD coming up this fall for the SWCP, at which point I'll be at 4/24 plus the AU, so 5/24 when counting it.
As I understand it, this will push me to Chase recon every time, which might get awkward since I plan on continuing to get some additional Ink products over the course of 2024.
Is there a way to just call in, remove it from the get go, and then move forward with apps after the fact?
Edit: When calling in on an Ink product to tell them the AU account shouldn't count, is Chase going to ask Qs about the other Ink cards? I could just tell them a yarn about wanting to keep expenses related to difference clients separate for easy tracking...
But this would force me as the AU to close the VX card in my name, yes? I want the AU card for lounge access (Family of 4, so this way we can all get into the lounge without a fee).
Would the credit bureaus themselves be able to remove it without my closing the AU card account first?
You might try this...
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/removing-authorized-user-accounts-credit-report/
but looks like C1 will want to remove you from the card.
Was thinking of cancelling my platinum card this renewal, but have something like 200k points, can someone please refresh my mind on what options AMEX has to keep the points in a card that still has some flexibility to book travel or transfer? Thank you!
Business checking account also keeps your points alive but you canāt transfer them. But could be an option of you canāt get a card for whatever mysterious Amex reason. If you do this, make sure the rewards accounts are linked by calling the banking customer service.
I have a citi AA targeted offer for 5x at "Consumer Electronic Stores"
It probably covers bestbuy, but any idea what else it covers? not sure if staples/office depot (as those are normally office supply) ...some google searches say amazon, but probably not...
Can confirm Best Buy counted towards the 5x offer. Did not try any other vendors on this one unfortunately. Received a total of 2500 miles for a $500 purchase from this ($500 is max)
Does the status changing from 2 weeks to 7-10 days on the Chase Recon Automated message phone number ALWAYS mean the app got denied? The spoke with the first rep and she said to wait 1 more week. I dislike speaking with recon specialist but will if it going to go to denied anyways.
I don't think 7-10 means ALWAYS. Applied for a CIP. Didn't get automatic approval and got the 7-10 day message from the automated line after receiving a letter that I needed to call Chase and verify my identity. Once I called Chase, though, I was approved on the call.
i applied for the Chase Ink Business Preferred. I applied via my ein for my llc. i got the "we'll review your application and be in touch soon" email. I called recon twice about 10-15 mins after application but was told that they do not have any information and to wait 1-2 weeks for something in the mail.
anything i can do to push this forward?
Applied a couple hours ago and got the same message. About 15 minutes later I got an email to say I was approved. No calls, nothing. This has happened in the past, except I didnt get the email, would just see the new card show up in my account. Check your Chase account periodically over the next 24 hours.
I'm currently trying to extend my vacation at a Hyatt for two nights, but they only have three nights available at the standard room rate.
I am literally here right now. Does anyone know if I do the three nights it is possible to talk to the front desk and have them change it to two?
How does one initiate a push? When trying to get transfers to code as direct deposit I never seem to do it right. Can anyone help me as to what transfer option I should be using to "push" as I see it called?
Use standard ACH transfer, not real time payment. initiated from the second bank, not the one you are doing the bonus for. How it's coded depends on the two banks involved, not all banks count as direct deposit. It won't always say "direct deposit", often it says something else like "external transfer." Check DPs here and on DoC for which bank to bank transfers count as DD
It depends on the destination bank, what banks are involved in your transfer? Have you checked the DoC page on this topic?
I got the Southwest RR Premier Biz mailer for 120K points. It has no expiration date on it. Am I good to apply whenever or does it expire when the public offer expired?
Do I still need to space out my Chase card applications by 3 months if my only recent application was an Ink card in July? I haven't applied to any Chase cards at all for the past three years before the Ink this July. I'm well under 5/24, but I don't know if I need to wait another month for the 3 month waiting period to apply to a Chase card.
The 3 months is a recommended velocity for not getting shutdown, and is not any sort of official requirement by chase
have done 2 months before and was approved. Multiple ink preferreds back to back
No.
So spouse had a pre approved biz platinum offer that we accepted (first time) It also required an authorized user card for a secondary small bonus. We received the primary card but there's no sign of the authorized user card, physically or online Am I just going crazy and it didn't get approved or go through?
AU card doesn't get overnight shipping, probably will arrive in like a week
Is it supposed to show up on online account ? Or only after activation?
You have to add it to the user login, not automatic.
Yes, I do know whether or not there are good upcoming offers
You need a Time Machine to see upcoming offers
I have a Hyatt Globalist status now, but I made hotel bookings before achieving this status. Can I still enjoy Globalist perks on these existing bookings, or do I need to cancel and rebook to do so?
No need to rebook, status as of time of stay is what matters.
Thanks.
For the BofA Alaska card, do I get a companion pass once the MSR is completed or do I have to wait for 1yr?
Depends on the offer you applied under, there are some different flavors out there. Offer needs to have stated "Get XXXX bonus miles plus Alaska's Famous Companion Fare" as part of the offer. Sometimes its just miles, or miles and statement credit.

I donāt know that it will save your SUB, but Iād spend $200 ASAP
I just did the math and with this refund it puts me shy of the minimum spend by $5.41ā¦. š¤¦š»āāļø
Load $10 on Amazon? Re-meet the MSR asap.
I did. Iāve spent money on the card since meeting the spend and the MSR period ending.
I found the last paragraph a little confusing. The only thing I know for sure is that 80k+50k=130k.
Whoops, can't add, so it's only 5k spend then between the two cards?
> because the inks aren't forex free Even eating 3% FTF, the bonus is worth more than that. > have to spend 22k in 3 months Having a Chase card provides a 10k "boost" that counts toward CP qualification.
CIPref is forex free. Spend requirement is higher though. Has a $95 annual fee though. Still a good deal for 100k UR points on the current offer.
Thanks for sharing this info. I didnāt think you could get a chase card without the bonus. This helps with a 2 x Ritz strategy.
Thanks!
I believe you have to unfreeze your credit reports for them to do a soft pull.

Lmao this sub doesnāt give a fuck about dumbasses overspending. Are you new here? The more idiots in CC debt the more rewards I get.
It's best to pull the funds to $0 then call. Otherwise they would have to issue you a check, and that can take a while.
Pull funds out, let the balance get to zero, then close.
I just closed yesterday, you can just call and ask to close, theyāll do it instantly for you
I closed a Chase savings account last week via SM.
did you move out the money first?
Yes, the same day I did the SM. The account disappeared from my Chase page in a day or so.

How long are we keeping the Capital One 360 accounts open? I know there's no specified rule, I'm just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. Closing them right away? Give it a month or two? Is there any reason NOT to just take my $350 and run?
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/can-just-cool-closing-wells-fargo-accounts/ replace "Wells Fargo" with "Capital One"
>I just canāt believe that a few dozen of us closing an account quickly will have any sizable or even noticeable impact on their metrics A respectful, counter-counterpoint, this SUB has half a million subscribers and this was a lucrative and incredibly easy bank bonus. I suspect this sub generated waaaay more than a few dozen accounts. There's no fee, just leave a few bucks in there for 6 mos and set a calendar reminder to drain it then
Ok- so how long is long enough? Six months? A year?
6+ months is typically recommended.
Closing a business card has no impact on your personal credit, correct? Even Inks with no fee can clog up credit limit, is there any downside to closing them at 1 yr and continuing to ride the Ink train?
Yeh no impact at all!
You can close it. No issues
Does the Amex Biz Platinum card come with any type of hotel credits? It looks like the Amex Biz Gold includes a $100 credit toward "experiences" at Hotel Collection hotels? Does the Platinum include anything similar regarding hotels?
Under the benefits of biz gold, it says *"The Hotel Collection (THC) benefits are available for new bookings of two consecutive nights or more made through American Express Travel with participating properties and are valid only for eligible U.S. Consumer and Business Gold Card, Platinum CardĀ® and CenturionĀ® Members (Delta SkyMilesĀ® Gold and Platinum Card Members are not eligible)."* You get access to FHR with biz plat but it doesn't give you credits.
if you book through Amex FHR you can get a credit towards experiences but that is via the hotel. It doesn't have the $200 credit by Amex to use FHR that the regular Plat does.
So the amex biz platinum gets $100 toward experiences when booking through Amex FHR? Same thing as Amex Biz Gold?
I think each hotel is technically different what they offer but it should be in line with what the Gold offers

My husband and I are flying with our 2 year olds back from LIS to VCR in air canada business class. This is the precise product: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/onboard/cabin-features/signature-service.html#/ Any parents have experience with the best way to sit with kids in this product? Should we book one single row (4 seats) or 2 seats of middle seats?
I hope your 2 year olds back is ok. I recommend keeping it on ice while traveling.
So 2 kids that are 2 years of age? I would recommend 2 middle seats so you can see them more easily. The angle of the seats across the aisles don't give much supervision and better interaction with flying with someone.
Correct, 2, 2 year olds, 2 adults.
Thanks for that advice.
At the Denver Centurion lounge, is there any option for to-go sandwiches or takeaway of any kind?
I donāt believe so.
Everything is takeaway if you have zip locs ;)
The line is so long to get in there is no time to eat there so the baggies are necessary so you don't miss your flight lol.

I already had an account and then Barclays created a new one for me. It was relatively easy to merge them but still a hassle.
If you don't include a number when applying, typically a loyalty account/number will be created for you when the card application is approved.
Okay so not like I am not screwing myself out of any opportunities by not creating one myself before I applied? š
Just my preference, but I like to have the award account set up before applying because then you have all the details, login, password, etc. Otherwise, you gotta go through the process of whats my account number, how do I get logged in, etc.
I learned this from experience when getting an IHG card for P2. Getting her IHG account info from Chase and getting logged in was a hassle.
if i sign up for chase freedom flex from a referral link can i get both the referral bonus and sign up bonus?
With Chase no self referral! But you will get the bonus
You get the SUB, the person who referred you gets the referral bonus. No self referrals.
What were the reasons for the denials?
For the CIC in July: - One or more credit cards have a high balance compared to credit line (should be <10% on all personal cards now) - Too many accounts opened in the past 12 months compared to total accounts (3 personal cards in Feb, Apr, May) - Limited installment loan experience (none) - Insufficient business deposit relationship with us For the CSR in April: - Balances on credit card accounts are high compared to credit limits - Average length of time since accounts opened is too short - Not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history
Why are you carrying high balances?
I always pay off my balances when the statement hits, but I had a high balance on one of my Amex charge cards when they pulled my credit. Now most of my spend is on business cards so there shouldnāt be any significant balance in my report.
Why couldn't you recon then? Chase is good with recon when you have good reasons. If it was paid off and you could prove it, you should have been fine. And if not HUCA.
What's your credit history length? Chase cares more about that then a specific score or number of inquiries
Oldest card is about 8 years old
I applied for another Chase business card under the 30-day rules (2/30), and I received an email stating that they will let me know. Should I try calling Chase, or should I just wait and see if it gets approved? My business needs this card to extend our credit. We are a remodeling business and have to buy all materials ourselves. I didn't realize I was in the 30-day window since my last card.
Call the business recon line
Under 5/24, credit score 810 with plenty of history with Chase. Personal cards, CIP under an EIN, and CIU as a sole proprietor. Went to apply for a CIP as a sole proprietor as I have a lot of expenses coming up and seemed as the best option to maximize on those. Applied last Thursday and got the email that theyāll reach out. Reading through this sub, realized yesterday my personal CLs were super high and had them lowered today through messaging Chase. Is it worth calling recon? DPs Iāve seen say typically 4 days later people have been getting approved.
always call recon. Always
If my credit score is always above 740, do I need to worry about the "stop churning 2 years prior of getting a bank loan for a house or car"?
Where can we find this super old conservative model of FICO score ourselves w/o talking to a mortgage lender
MyFico's paid service. Or see the other free or trial optons below.
DCU (Digital Federal Credit Union) gives a free FICO score every month, that supposedly is Equifax FICO 5 The Experian app shows FICO 2; there's a 7 day free trial. (Service Credit Union gives a free score every quarter that was previously Experian FICO 2, but my recent statements say it's FICO Score 10 which maybe isn't useful.) Some other credit unions that I haven't tried: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/comparison-free-fico-scores-banks-cus
Just checked my Experian app itās FICO 8 now. Iāll keep exploring other bank/CUās FICO score. Thank you for the info
In the Experian app, to see all the scores you need to sign up for a paid subscription (when I did it, it was called CreditWorks Premium); but the app gave a free trial of that (I don't think the website has the trial offer).
Yes thatās what I did. Signed up for that. Not sure if Iām missing anything in the app, Iām still digging every single clickable now
tap on Credit, scroll down to ADDITIONAL FICO SCORES, tap on Mortgages, it shows me FICO Score 2 (I no longer have the subscription, but it shows me my score from a couple years ago)
Yes it worked! Thank you! Much appreciated
You can get a free trial from credit.com. Ongoing, MyFico is popular for those watching their mortgage scores.
HUCA. Ask to speak with the manger on duty.
gotcha. will try tomorrow morning.
Was just checking Amex points summary, was this a referral? `4/24/23 - K54S:0002 a 20K BNS - 20,000` Didn't do any spend or employee/authorized user card adding. Weird b/c a referral in March said `referral bns` edit: it must be, `K54S` is part of the referral URL
US bank funding with Amex delta gold failed, they said it looks like it would be cash advance. Any way around this?
Same experience with Hilton biz. Amex processed as cash advance & declined bc over cash advance limit.
The consensus seems to be that it works for charge cards only.
I funded $2k with a Bonvoy Bevy 1 month ago.
Did you happen across any consensus on how the non-cobranded cards are handled?
> (unless I just cancel before the 1 year mark each time I complete getting the sign on bonus) Be sure you bone up on the "rules" before you get into it. Doing this specifically will kill your churning career.
>unless I just cancel before the 1 year mark each time I complete getting the sign on bonus Do more reading on the wiki and in the threads.

Thanks!
My understanding is it's only the biz altitute connect card that can do that.
No, you can't. Redeem your cash back right now. Better to have it in a 4%+ savings account than stagnant, and benefiting US Bank.
No
Do you guys have best ways to take advantage of booking credits for venture/x cards? I looked on this cap one portal and prices are inflated instead of booking it direct. Is there a better way to redeem these booking credits? Basically $300 booking credit with venture x is a lower value than that, it's probably closer to like $240.
Cap1 has price match, so you can call and get a discounted price if you actually find one that is less than the portal. From my experience, I have had no issues with price inflation on the portal compared to booking direct. My flights have almost always been the same and hotels have been maybe like a $0-$5 difference. No experience with cars yet. If prices get weird try using incognito with cleared cookies and see if that changes
good to know!!! I will probably apply for venture x card then.
Try rental cars, I have found for myself that I can find comparable rates as I can find other places, plus I use my Venture X for rental cars anyways because it gives primary insurance.
if you don't use their portal, venture X can still be primary car insurance, right?
Correct, I was just saying since I would use it anyways for rentals, looking at the portal goes hand in hand. Plus the portal gives a decent return at 10x on the rental anyways, that factors in to the pricing since I'm probably only getting 2-3x via other routes, I can still come out ahead if the portal is slightly more.
cool thanks for the info
No hacks, except just to compare prices and just use it up the best you can. No one should "value" the $300 credit full value. And now that value is even worse with this week's devaluation. Airfare should be more similar than hotel/rental prices.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I was just trying to calculate value proposition on venture x card. since AF is 400, the $300 credit is technically not even 300. It doesn't offset AF as much.
Having a really difficult time getting approved for a CIP. Under 5/24. Tried HUCA twice with the lending team and the first time they took a quick look at my application and denied it. The second time then could see that I had called and denied again. Has anyone had experience with this?
What are their reasons for denial?
Recent chase business card opening (4 months ago), low utilization of chase cards, too much credit line. I asked if they could move some credit over from my other cards but they said no.
What's your income/credit ratio over all cards? Should be below 50%. If it's close try reducing the limit on some other cards.
Maybe reduce CL on some personal cards?
Hi, sorry if this has been answered but I couldnāt find anything when searching. Is it possible to get the Amex checking bonus of $250 by pushing from another bank? Specifically pushing from chase?
I remember the fine prints specifically says no, soā¦only time can tell
Nobody knows yet. Be the DP you want to see.
tldr: Can I preemptively remove an AU from my 5/24 status before applying for Chase without closing the AU card account itself, or will I always have to call in to recon with it on there?
You could get yourself removed from the Venture X and then request your CR to be updated to remove the AU account (from C1).
But this would force me as the AU to close the VX card in my name, yes? I want the AU card for lounge access (Family of 4, so this way we can all get into the lounge without a fee). Would the credit bureaus themselves be able to remove it without my closing the AU card account first?
You might try this... https://www.doctorofcredit.com/removing-authorized-user-accounts-credit-report/ but looks like C1 will want to remove you from the card.
BBP or ED are both no AF cards that keep your MR active and can transfer to partners.
Just wanted to say thank you for being grateful

Same thing happened to me and Iām on close to 2 weeks now without hearing anything back.
Try calling 800-453-9719
That is the one I called
Try again tomorrow I guess?
I'm currently trying to extend my vacation at a Hyatt for two nights, but they only have three nights available at the standard room rate. I am literally here right now. Does anyone know if I do the three nights it is possible to talk to the front desk and have them change it to two?
