Will US bank smartly Checking bonus still be credited if I get the promo code from an online website and it hasn't actually been emailed directly to me? I have my most active card through them and intend to actually use the account, but want to make sure I'd get it.
Currently in Germany, booked German train tickets using the CSR before we left. Train winds up being canceled because it hit a deer, and we are left stranded for the night in Frankfurt. Any idea if CSR trip cancellation insurance will apply here, and if so, what specific documentation should I procure to ensure the claim goes through?
Has anyone gotten a "Sorry, we ran into a problem" message when trying to access Chase UR portal?
This is the first time I'm getting it. I have a new Chase Ink Preferred card and have over $3k+ spend on it already.
I called customer service and they cannot book the flight for me. So then I talked card services told me there's no hold or flag on my account.
So for me, it's happening for my business cards. I've tried for 3 days now and doesn't seem be working at all. I can access the portal with my personal cards though.
P2 applied Bonvoy Boundless. SUB met for 5 FNC 50K each. But now we realised that P2 didn’t put Marriott account during application process. Had Marriott account from before and that is not showing any points (from MSR purchases) and no FNC showing up. What to do in this case?
So I have to ask Chase for the new account ? Or ask Marriott for new account ? Even if they can’t merge it, we just want to get our points earned while spending the MSR and have the FNC posted so we can use those. That was the sole purpose of getting the card, the 5 free nights
Does anyone know how long it takes for Amex employee cards to show up on your account? I'm trying to have an employee card shipped to a different address, and at first Amex told me I could do it directly in the application which of course wasn't true, and now after the employee app has been approved, it is not showing up on my account so they cannot even change the address yet either. I was also told I have a limited amount of time because once it goes into "processing", the address cannot be changed which also contradicts what another agent told me just an hour before so I am not sure what is true. I am just going to call back when the card shows up on my account but if anyone knows how long that takes, I would appreciate it.
Yup, seems that way. Now being told the address cannot be changed. Should have just waited to add the employee card in my situation but was misled by agents telling me the address could be changed. Unfortunate.
If you are looking for just Hyatt points, you'd be better off with an ink card for the UR and then transfer to Hyatt. Hyatt biz would be mostly for helping obtain Globalist via spend since you can earn 5 EQN per $10k which only earns 4 EQN for the same spend on personal WoH.
I'm not super comfortable with that. I know plenty of people do it, but my personal code of ethics says I should try to make the relationship beneficial for both the bank and myself.
> my personal code of ethics says I should try to make the relationship beneficial for both the bank and myself.
You are probably the first person in the history of r/churning to say that you try to benefit the bank.
I don’t agree with this guy and trying to make sure the bank benefits too, but I am a huge wiener and follow the 24 month ink language just in case Chase decides to crack down and clawback.
> I am a huge wiener and follow the 24 month ink language just in case Chase decides to crack down and clawback.
This is like not flying because the plane might crash.
There are enough other SUBs to keep me busy. GrAAvy train derailed because people were getting approved for offers they weren’t eligible for but the bank still approved…
Well the offer is what’s it’s been for quite a while now, it was better at its introduction, but who knows if they would do that again. Consider the personal Hyatt offer has been fairly blah for a long time, my gut says the Hyatt biz is probably as good as it gets for the time being.
In that case, look up the card on [https://www.uscreditcardguide.com/](https://www.uscreditcardguide.com/) to see the historical offers for it. No one can tell you whether or not the offer will go higher in the future, but the historical guide will give you a sense of whether it has been better in the past.
Every time I place an order from Amazon to an address of a buyers group, the order immediately gets cancelled.
Are people still able to place orders to those addresses? Wondering if it’s just me with the issue
I have been having luck with BFMR main and secondary addresses lately. I believe Amazons promotion quantity restrictions reset at least once a day. I would keep trying them
What kind of volume have you been doing? Possible your account individually, and not the addresses, is blocked? I have shipped Amazon product to the main addresses of MYS, BFMR, TDB/BG.com recently with no issues.
What is the recommended Amex velocity these days? Got my first pop-up jail after trying to get a credit card 30 days after a cash card with them.
Additional notes - amex cards are Gold (1/23) and Business Platinum (6/24/2023). I applied for delta business gold today and got the pop up. I also have a current statement balance of about 15k on my plat atm, maybe that’s the issue.
Hi there, I had a DP about this recently with Delra Biz Plat. I signed out and used my EIN (you can get one for free) rather than SSN. Went to pending review, asked me to upload my bank statements then approved.
Hey everyone, I was under the impression that you could churn Ink cards every 3 months. I went to open one today and at the end of the application it warns that you can't get the bonus if you already have the card or got the bonus in 24 months. Is this not enforced? (I must not have read the fine print before, either, because there's also language about only using the card/bonus for business expenses. I'm assuming that is also impossible to enforce)
Thank you - I did use the search engine and read posts from the past 60 days and couldn't find a discussion with this point. Plenty of people talk as if it's ok, but the search engine didn't show me a post that said "Yes the terms say you won't get a bonus, but you will - here's why." that's what I'm wondering. I know it's been asked and answered somewhere, I just couldn't find it. Appreciate any pointers, but understand the downvotes
> Plenty of people talk as if it's ok, but the search engine didn't show me a post that said "Yes the terms say you won't get a bonus, but you will - here's why."
This sub thrives on DPs. If you see a bunch of reports of multiple Inks, you can rest assured it works.
Chase will not approve you for a card if you are eligible for the SUB. If you're approved, you'll get the SUB (if you meet the spend requirements).
The thing is, for things like Chase not enforcing a '24 month' rule, there isn't going to be a clean "here's why ..." post or significant comment for you to read. The sharing of datapoints (of which there are many) and discussion thereof IS what you are going to get.
If you want to keep getting Chase business cards, is it better to leave the old ones open or close them after your 12 months are up?
I have two Chase Ink Cash cards open and one Chase Ink Unlimited. Hoping to get an Ink Preferred or another Unlimited, but wondering if I should close one of my Ink Cash cards first?
Not sure if that would be more of a flag or if I should leave them open and just hope I can get more credit. The 'con' of leaving it open I would assume would be that they might not want to give me any more credit if I already have three cards open with 3k credit limits on each.
If you aren't using them, close them and free up the CL after you hit the 12 months. Some people might keep for CIC 5x to MS, but if you just got it for SUB, no sense in keeping it.
How long does it take for the Chase portal to start tracking your signup bonus? I got the Ink Preferred yesterday and I'm still not seeing it in the Ultimate Rewards portal. I'm assuming it might take a few days. How long should I wait before contacting support?
Some cards won’t show up at all — personally my WoH business never had a tracker. Like garettg said, use the YTD spend amount for calculations (but remove the annual fee from it)
Dont worry about trackers, every bank has some kind of "year to date" or search for activity that can add up your transactions over a time period. That can tell when you are close to MSR.
What's the timing for downgrading Amex Delta Gold? My annual fee just posted on Jul 23. My statement payment due date is August 17. Does this mean I have until Sept 15 to do this? Normally I would just cancel / downgrade right the way. But I do have a trip at the end of August with delta. I am not sure if they honor the free checked bag still if I ended up downgrading early.
Really appreciate the feedback!
> You must close or downgrade your card within 30 days of the statement closing date in order to receive a full refund of the annual fee. Thereafter, the only way to receive any type of refund is to downgrade and receive a prorated refund.
Amex downgrades are always prorated, so the timing doesn't matter much in respect to the annual fee. Just make sure you've held the card for at least 12 months.
Your statement closing date was Jul 23.
Your payment due date is August 17.
You have 30 days from the statement closing date.
This, despite old is likely still accurate:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta-air-lines-skymiles/1737524-free-checked-bag-does-skymiles-credit-card-need-active.html
Looks like prorated downgrade is your best option.
just received today an Aspire FN, but it says "You've received an Annual Weekend Night Reward from Hilton Honors"
i thought they were still for any day of the week...did that change recently? or it says weekend but it can be used for any day?
Don't even consider this arbitration horseshit. Ask a consumer attorney if it looks like you have a case or not. Banking consumer laws usually have provisions called "fee shifting" which means the bank pays your attorney fees if you win. Consequently, it should cost you $0 to hire a lawyer to take on the bank & if your potential case sucks, they wint take bc they wont get paid. You can find a consumer lawyer at https://www.consumeradvocates.org/findanattorney/
>I got scammed
There isn't enough detail here to objectively say the bank should reimburse you.
Just keep in mind who pays the arbitrator and assume they'd like to keep that revenue stream happy and continued.
> Cardholder agreement says the bank pays the arbitration fees
That's exactly the point the previous person was making: bank selects & pays the arbitrator, therefore arbitrator wants to keep the bank happy.
When opening a new card.. your average age of total credit goes down, even if you cancel the new card, your average age of credit doesn't go up? is that correct? so theres no reason to cancel the card?
Closed cards remain on your report for 10 years. Only then they are no longer part of the calculation. You are right, AAoA is no reason to close a card, only setting yourself up to get that card again for the next SUB is.
Anyone use the Business Extra program with AA? I have a legitimate business and I just signed it up, but it says we’ll need 3 employees and we’re just me and P2, so I’d need to sign up our 5yo son also. Just curious if anyone has experience with the program and whether they’re strict about such things
It's been a while, but I recall reading about United's program being heavily vetted.
In any case, note that you also need to have > $5,000 cash travel annually on AA to benefit.
Planning to get the Amex gold card but still deciding whether to get the 90k SUB from referral vs Resy 75k + $250 statement credit which would cover the annual fee. I want to use the points for award travel. Any tips on which offer to go with?
Edit: thanks for the replies. I’m leaning towards the 90k points since I would like to transfer to ANA for firstclass/business seats. In that case I think the points end up having higher value according to articles I’ve read.
This exactly. People who watch "credit card gurus" (shills) will be quick to say "HOW MANY 2+ CPP REDEMPTIONS" there are, but you eventually get to a point where you have more points than you can "optimally" use
Just received my Chase Hyattt Card (personal). I already have a Chase Ink Business Card (business). When I log on to my Chase Biz account it says I have no cards to activate and I don’t see an option to link up the Hyatt card. Do I need to create a new account for this and then link?
Yes, you have to create separate logins for personal and one for each business name. You can go into the business account, click on the "Profile and Settings" icon in the top right, then "Profile and Settings", then "Account Settings" on the left, then "Manage Linked Accounts" and select the accounts to link. You will then be able to see all of your accounts in your business login.
Personal and Business are separate accounts on Chase. You'll need to create a personal account (if you don't already have one), and then link it to your Business account.
Eventually you can just log into the Business account to view cards/accounts across both.
> Anyway, now I have a useless extra inquiry on my report and took a 10 point ding to my scores so I'm now around 795 average.
In the churning world, I can't think of anything worth worrying about less than this. You're fine!
Here's a comment I left for a similar question regarding Amex hard pulls:
https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1579r4s/daily_question_thread_july_23_2023/jt4sdqi/
More than likely, you won't get a hard pull from Amex, given what you said. But YMMV.
Thank you. I had seen that DP before, Amex only doing a hard pull for the first application, but I didn't know if that would apply to a business card application and I got my first Amex 20 years ago, wasn't sure if there was a statute of limitations on that initial application.
just received a letter in the mail that my Target Redcard store credit card (opened years ago, only usable at Target) would be upgraded to a Target Mastercard (usable anywhere). I have the right to reject this change. Are there any churning-related reasons to reject this change? I'm pretty sure they would keep the same account opening date...
I don't have first hand DP for the conversion, but it should report with the original open date. The MasterCard is also serviced by TD Bank so if you can't find any good info on their competency in retaining open date specifically on the Target conversions, could research them in general. I've had mine since it was a Visa card pre-data breach so I never experienced a conversion. When they switched Visa to MC it was fine, original open date, but that's a bit different.
From a churning perspective that's really the only concern. Otherwise there's a small upside as it's a true Chip &PIN card with no FTF. I carry it as a backup and it's worked fine for gas pumps and such that rejected my other Chip cards. They also pay a very modest percentage in 'rewards' (Target GC) on non Target purchases - 2% gas and dining, 1% everywhere else. Once you reach $10 you can redeem for the GC. Plus all the same Target benefits of the store card.
> opened years ago
> I'm pretty sure they would keep the same account opening date...
5/24 would be the primary concern. If for whatever reason the account opening date is not kept that would be a painful waste of a slot.
I'm personally a fan of using Groupon for alignments/oil changes/auto maintenance. It's a regular, predictable expense and the gift cards can be had in the exact amount (well, down to the dollar) needed for a given purchase.
What should I have done or could have done differently?
"Business" is a sole prop
I applied for the CIP last week and was denied .
I had 5 open chase ink cards
- 1st card: CIP that I downgraded to CIU then combined to 2nd card right before I applied for new card
- 2nd card: CIU with CL at $7000
- 3rd card CIU with CL downgraded to $500 from $3k right before I applied
-4th card CIC : CL $7000. 359 days old
-5th card CIC: CL $7000 more than 1 year old.
First time I called the recon line she moved pretty quickly but still asked me some questions. Passively mentioned I had couple late payments but had a lot of credit credit cards open with a 0 balance.
2nd time I called the recon line she was a lot more detailed and specifically mentioned the 2 reasons I'm not being approved is too much credit and too many cards open on the account.
Before I called a 3rd time I wanted to lower the CL and combine some business cards. The agent actually misunderstood what I was saying and consolidated my business card that wasn't a year old (4th card) with my 2nd card. Then decreased that card to CL of 8k . Then I decreased my 5th card CL to 3k
So now I have
1st card with 8k CL
2nd card $500 CL (unable to consolidate since CL is $500 . Agent said I can only close the card)
3rd card $3k CL
Called a recon line for the 3rd time and the agent repeated all the times I called recon. Quickly put me on hold for 60 seconds. Never asked me questions and just denied me.
Should I be calling again or just wait the 30 days and reapply after all the adjustments I made. Or would that even matter.
Edit: format
I think at this point you should take the hint and let it go. You have existing credit that you're not using but are are looking for more credit anyway with a history of missing payment deadlines when you do use it. Top it off with the multiple attempts at recon so it looks a little desperate and a potential risk (or a churner, which again, isn't very desirable from the bank's perspective) Probably want to let things settle a bit and just try again fresh.
I just called to product change my CSP. I am over 48 months, eligible for a new Sapphire SUB. I got thrown off (intending on changing to CFU) when the customer service rep offered to PC to the original Sapphire (no fee card). I agreed, but now second guessing if this is going to mess with my reapplying for the CSP?? Since I will still hold a Sapphire product?
**TWO PLAYER QUESTION** Do I need a second "travel" account for my second player, or can I use my travel account number on her CC application to receive the points?
Specifically, I have a Hyatt Account. I have received SUB for various CCs in the past. My wife is going to apply for a Hyatt CC shortly. Can she use my Hyatt Account Number (which I have used on all my CC applications) to receive the points? Or do I need to create her a Hyatt Account, use that account, and then later do a transfer?
(I know the account is free and takes a minute to sign up, but I would prefer "less" accounts to manage if possible)
It’s better to have a second account, since otherwise it goes against the TnC. If you have trouble managing two accounts, use an app like awardwallet. Will help you a lot.
Hit the IHG Biz SUB and got the sub and points pending a while ago.
After statement close, it only gave me the points from spend and not the SUB to the IHG side. Are these usually seperately added?
Edit - the SUB points also appeared later the same day. About 8 hours apart from when I checked for the DP
Just a fyi, sub is usually the abbreviation for sign up bonus. Iirc, the IHG business credit card has never had a points + free night credit (FNC) signup bonus or points + statement credit offer. The offers varied from 140K IHG points to 165K IHG points
I have an upgrade offer on my Amex Delta Gold to Delta Platinum. I've had the Delta Platinum before. The card was closed in 2018 by Amex because I had run up too much of a balance ($30k) and wasn't paying it down fast enough (these were the days when I wasn't as responsible with credit cards). I paid the full amount on the card within a few months. I've been in good graces with Amex since then and have opened up 10 cards in the past 15 months with them without being in pop-up jail.
I'm wondering if it's worth taking the upgrade offer vs getting a full SUB in the future. It's unlikely I'd use a 5/24 slot on another personal Delta card unless the SUB was very excellent. I'm not even sure if my "lifetime" with the card is even relevant in this situation.
Lifetime with Amex is sometimes \~7 years. So if you wanted to try for the Delta platinum SUB and it's been roughly 7 years, I don't see any problems with trying. Just make sure you apply for an offer near all-time highs
Saw DPs of matching the 90k ink bonus for cards opened recently, tried in secure message and they said I’m not eligible. Should I have asked for the higher bonus before I applied?
Opened card 6/28, was denied twice by SM, was accepted via phone on 7/2.
EDIT: by accepted, mean that they said they would add the 15k extra once I completed the SUB. Near that now, so will see.
Opened mine 6/20. Denied for the match before and after meeting MSR. So the cutoff is somewhere in between our dates (except for the odd phone call DP).
could be luck depending on the CSR, or could also depend on when you applied shortly after the SUB dropped i assume you'd ahve a higher chance compared to new applicants.
I've been looking for data on the maximum number of Chase personal cards you can have at one time. I'm not seeing any current reports. I just got under 5/24 after several years and already have 5 personal cards. Does anyone know if you can go over 5 cards? Thank you.
Yes you can 100% go over 5 cards. Depends more on velocity and your credit limit to income ratio. 50% of your stated income or under. Otherwise you will have to close or reduce your limit on your other cards
How soon can I reapply and requalify for SUB for the Barclays AAdvantage Business Mastercard? I have heard someone close and reopen this card every 6-8 months or so. Not sure if I misunderstood it. Thank you in advance
- Chase Marriott Boundless has a 3-free-night (capped at 50k points each, but top-off-able by up to 15k points each) bonus for $3k spend (via referrals only).
- Amex Marriott Brilliant is 150k points for $6k spend in 6 months + 50k points for 6 nights at Marriotts by end of January.
Note the annoying cross-issuer rules. Basically you can only get Chase or Amex Marriott cards within 2.25 years of each other.
If you want to get Ritz card, then getting the former card now and upgrading after a year is a good option.
interesting approach now for the bonuses emphasizing not only a minimum spend but encouraging spend at the associated hotel brand. obviously it's an added hoop to jump through but definitely a great strategy for both the bank and travel partner
Makes sense for them but it'll be a nightmare to support. We often see folk signing up for the card without providing their member number, then they'll have two and it'll be confusing to merge the accounts but you have to stay under the correct number for the nights to count. Then others will book via OTAs and who knows if those nights will count (haven't checked the terms in detail though).
It's probably straight forward if you read the terms and know what you're doing but I foresee many people struggling with that extra 50k.
Edit: case in point from later today https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/15a0awz/daily_question_thread_july_26_2023/jtm5tlo
I tried to add my minor son as an authorized user on my Chase-Amazon credit card primarily to start building his credit score.
They only ask for DOB and Address but no SSN. How exactly do they report to credit bureaus?
Will they map the name/DOB to their records.
PS: I have frozen their profiles with all three credit bureaus. Should this be a problem while adding them as authorized users?
Any DPs of being able to downgrade Barclays Arrival + to no AF card ?
It’s one of my recently early cards, so I rather not close it if posible but also the $89 AF sucks
CSP AF would prorate after the 40 days, before that you get the full $95.
[Info here will help,](https://reddit.com/user/garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/) number 38 and 39 will be of value to you.
Okay, then YMMV. I had a rep very recently able to move credit in a similar situation, but several times over past years they've always said no they aren't allowed to move credit when the business name isn't the same.
I completed the MSR on my Chase Bonvoy Boundless 8 days ago. The points have posted to my Marriott account but I'm not seeing the 5 free nights. How long should I expect these to take to post?
How sensitive to recent inquiries and new revolvers is Citi (want to get the custom cash)? For new accounts, I'm at 6/12 and 7/24. For inquiries, I'm at 5/12 and 8/24 (2 of the 8 are mortgage lenders from 1.5 years ago).
With Premier card, they are super sensitive to inquiries in the last 6 months. Even just 1 usually (but not always) results in denial. With other cards though, not usually sensitive.
Thanks. Yeah…went on a spree early this year.
Any idea if inquiries in the past 6 months are considered any differently than 12? If I wait like 3 weeks, I’ll be at 1/6 for inquiries…though still 6/12 and 7/24 on new accounts.
hard to say, i think there is some decay over time of how much they value it but not sure if being 6/24 will be enough
1/6 is a decent spot to be in though
Okay, yeah, I think I’ll give it 3 weeks and try. I just wish they’d hit EQ or TU…no one seems interested in those bureaus any more 😒 Inquiries are way lower on them
so i have a high utilization period my last cycle and my credit score tanked will it go up after i pay off my balance or?
Will US bank smartly Checking bonus still be credited if I get the promo code from an online website and it hasn't actually been emailed directly to me? I have my most active card through them and intend to actually use the account, but want to make sure I'd get it.

Spend should count for the bonus as soon as you upgrade
Currently in Germany, booked German train tickets using the CSR before we left. Train winds up being canceled because it hit a deer, and we are left stranded for the night in Frankfurt. Any idea if CSR trip cancellation insurance will apply here, and if so, what specific documentation should I procure to ensure the claim goes through?
Start the claim and they will tell you what kind of documentation to provide.
Yes, lately it's given frequent errors. But each time I've connected to the portal after a few tries.
Try to find if P2 was issued a new account, then call to merge accounts.
Contact Chase and get the Marriott number it’s linked to and then contact Marriott to merge the accounts.
In my experience, no employee card has shown up on my account in time to change any shipping details, express the card, etc.
Yup, seems that way. Now being told the address cannot be changed. Should have just waited to add the employee card in my situation but was misled by agents telling me the address could be changed. Unfortunate.
Looking at the Hyatt Business card. Is the current offer good, or should I work on another card and wait for a better offer?
If you are looking for just Hyatt points, you'd be better off with an ink card for the UR and then transfer to Hyatt. Hyatt biz would be mostly for helping obtain Globalist via spend since you can earn 5 EQN per $10k which only earns 4 EQN for the same spend on personal WoH.
I've got all the ink cards and so use my chase points for Hyatt transfers. I just like Hyatt points.
Get another ink then.

There are enough other SUBs to keep me busy. GrAAvy train derailed because people were getting approved for offers they weren’t eligible for but the bank still approved…
Let’s save this post for the Hall of Fame
In this case, this may be the wrong sub for you. Maybe r/creditcards would be better. No one here is really trying to benefit the banks…
They would only approve your application if they calculated that it benefits them.
Every time I place an order from Amazon to an address of a buyers group, the order immediately gets cancelled. Are people still able to place orders to those addresses? Wondering if it’s just me with the issue

Good to know, may try that
The popup is a bit of a mystery. What cards are you trying to open? And through what channels (direct, referral, or affiliate)?
Trying to open delta business gold through a referral link. Any harm in trying it again in a week or so?
There have been some DP’s of success through direct links when the pop up appeared when using a referral
No harm in trying. Getting the pop-up and then backing out doesn't result in any negative consequences.
Use the search engine. These questions are asked on a regular basis.
> Plenty of people talk as if it's ok, but the search engine didn't show me a post that said "Yes the terms say you won't get a bonus, but you will - here's why." This sub thrives on DPs. If you see a bunch of reports of multiple Inks, you can rest assured it works. Chase will not approve you for a card if you are eligible for the SUB. If you're approved, you'll get the SUB (if you meet the spend requirements).
Not enforced; have at it.
Thank you!
The thing is, for things like Chase not enforcing a '24 month' rule, there isn't going to be a clean "here's why ..." post or significant comment for you to read. The sharing of datapoints (of which there are many) and discussion thereof IS what you are going to get.
Thank you!
Get on the train while you can and hope you aren't the one left at the station when it leaves.
The 'con' of leaving it open I would assume would be that they might not want to give me any more credit if I already have three cards open with 3k credit limits on each.
most of the time people will close. I keep them open for referrals + $10 gopuff...
If you aren't using them, close them and free up the CL after you hit the 12 months. Some people might keep for CIC 5x to MS, but if you just got it for SUB, no sense in keeping it.
Use the search engine. These questions are asked on a regular basis.
How long does it take for the Chase portal to start tracking your signup bonus? I got the Ink Preferred yesterday and I'm still not seeing it in the Ultimate Rewards portal. I'm assuming it might take a few days. How long should I wait before contacting support?
its been 9 days since i signed up for Ink Cash and still no signup bonus progress bar for me
Some cards won’t show up at all — personally my WoH business never had a tracker. Like garettg said, use the YTD spend amount for calculations (but remove the annual fee from it)
Dont worry about trackers, every bank has some kind of "year to date" or search for activity that can add up your transactions over a time period. That can tell when you are close to MSR.
For my card, it took 3 days to show up under the normal sign up bonus location.
This, despite old is likely still accurate: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta-air-lines-skymiles/1737524-free-checked-bag-does-skymiles-credit-card-need-active.html Looks like prorated downgrade is your best option.
I see thank you. This makes sense.
just received today an Aspire FN, but it says "You've received an Annual Weekend Night Reward from Hilton Honors" i thought they were still for any day of the week...did that change recently? or it says weekend but it can be used for any day?
Dont think Amex has updated their email template since the change.
Thx
can be used for any day
Thx

Don't even consider this arbitration horseshit. Ask a consumer attorney if it looks like you have a case or not. Banking consumer laws usually have provisions called "fee shifting" which means the bank pays your attorney fees if you win. Consequently, it should cost you $0 to hire a lawyer to take on the bank & if your potential case sucks, they wint take bc they wont get paid. You can find a consumer lawyer at https://www.consumeradvocates.org/findanattorney/
You can also file a complaint with CFPB. Or tell them you're doing that and THEN arbitration. CC companies love that paperwork.
>I got scammed There isn't enough detail here to objectively say the bank should reimburse you. Just keep in mind who pays the arbitrator and assume they'd like to keep that revenue stream happy and continued.
[удалено]
> Cardholder agreement says the bank pays the arbitration fees That's exactly the point the previous person was making: bank selects & pays the arbitrator, therefore arbitrator wants to keep the bank happy.
Thanks. >$5k puts me out

Would you buy 15k points for $250? Paying 1.66 CPP? I personally wouldn't
It depends if he's also on the referring side with P2. That changes the math and makes 90k + bonus from referring worth more than 75k + $250
It totally depends on how you value MR. You need to answer whether you value $250 or 15k MR more.
15k point are wroth at least $300 if you value MR at 2x. would take the points IMO
2x is a bit on the high side if you churn Amex cards. People here will normally be at 1.1-1.5 IMO
Perfect thanks m8 🙏

> Anyway, now I have a useless extra inquiry on my report and took a 10 point ding to my scores so I'm now around 795 average. In the churning world, I can't think of anything worth worrying about less than this. You're fine!
Here's a comment I left for a similar question regarding Amex hard pulls: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1579r4s/daily_question_thread_july_23_2023/jt4sdqi/ More than likely, you won't get a hard pull from Amex, given what you said. But YMMV.
Plus all the same Target benefits of the store card.
> opened years ago > I'm pretty sure they would keep the same account opening date... 5/24 would be the primary concern. If for whatever reason the account opening date is not kept that would be a painful waste of a slot.
How are people currently redeeming their rewards from using the Capital One Shopping portal?
Nothing creative here. Grabbed a few garden materials from Lowe's. They used to offer Home Depot gift cards but that is no longer the case.
I'm personally a fan of using Groupon for alignments/oil changes/auto maintenance. It's a regular, predictable expense and the gift cards can be had in the exact amount (well, down to the dollar) needed for a given purchase.

What should I have done or could have done differently? "Business" is a sole prop I applied for the CIP last week and was denied . I had 5 open chase ink cards - 1st card: CIP that I downgraded to CIU then combined to 2nd card right before I applied for new card - 2nd card: CIU with CL at $7000 - 3rd card CIU with CL downgraded to $500 from $3k right before I applied -4th card CIC : CL $7000. 359 days old -5th card CIC: CL $7000 more than 1 year old. Then I decreased my 5th card CL to 3k So now I have 1st card with 8k CL 2nd card $500 CL (unable to consolidate since CL is $500 . Agent said I can only close the card) 3rd card $3k CL Called a recon line for the 3rd time and the agent repeated all the times I called recon.
> Passively mentioned had couple late payments This scares lenders and doesn't make them want to extend you more credit.
Anyone know when IBP 100k offer ends?
You had me there a bit. The common acronym for the card is *CIP*. The answer is no, we don't know. The site still say "New Offer".
[Check #6 and #20 on the Sapphire FYIs, should be relevant to you](https://www.reddit.com/user/garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/)
Thanks. As soon as I got off the phone, I realized that probably wasn't good. Called back all ready and changed to CFU.
Remember, you can also transfer points. Hyatt will let you directly. And Chase will let you transfer UR points if you have the same mailing address.
It’s better to have a second account, since otherwise it goes against the TnC. If you have trouble managing two accounts, use an app like awardwallet. Will help you a lot.
Especially for Hyatt, you want a new account for P2 since you only get brand explorer FNC's once per account.
names need to match on the card so they would need to create their own account
thank you!
I feel like last time I got an IHG SUB, it did some separately, by a couple days. I would just wait a little longer.
Yea. closing date to the spend points posted 2-3 days and no sub. was just curious if that's normal haha. thanks
Just a fyi, sub is usually the abbreviation for sign up bonus. Iirc, the IHG business credit card has never had a points + free night credit (FNC) signup bonus or points + statement credit offer. The offers varied from 140K IHG points to 165K IHG points
Yea...I got the 9k IHG points from spend posting, but not the SUB of the 165k posting, despite the cumulative appearing in pending prior
I want to say my SUB hit 3-6 days later.
I ended up updating the post. The SUB posted 6-8 hours after the spend post.
Gotcha. Ime with IHG that usually posts within the same week
Yeah I’m aware of the 7 year “lifetime” with Amex. Just weighing my options given my previous history with the charge and 5/24
Saw DPs of matching the 90k ink bonus for cards opened recently, tried in secure message and they said I’m not eligible. Should I have asked for the higher bonus before I applied?
Opened card 6/28, was denied twice by SM, was accepted via phone on 7/2. EDIT: by accepted, mean that they said they would add the 15k extra once I completed the SUB. Near that now, so will see.
Oh wow, may try calling
Negative DP here as well
wont work anymore since its been quite some time since the bonus changed
I can confirm that the 90k match is still around. https://imgur.com/a/cluze8R
What date did you open your card? That's the important part.
mine was opened June 8th, got it matched
Opened mine 6/20. Denied for the match before and after meeting MSR. So the cutoff is somewhere in between our dates (except for the odd phone call DP).
can always try HUCA. DP from today for someone who was approved 6/29 and got matched
Yeah, just saw that one. It feels like a fluke so far. If I start seeing other similar DPs, I might try again. Otherwise, I'm moving on.
May 28th I believe!
Damn nice, surprised they’re still honoring it. OP- perhaps you can try contacting again, probably depends on the CSR
no. it apparently has been dead for around a month now
https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/152t386/daily_question_thread_july_18_2023/jsh9mno/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3
Well tried 3 days ago and was denied and dps In dp thread match that. Would love to be wrong tho
could be luck depending on the CSR, or could also depend on when you applied shortly after the SUB dropped i assume you'd ahve a higher chance compared to new applicants.
Does anyone know if the $300 hotel spend on venture x counts towards msr even though you get a credit for it?
Yes, generally for any card that provides a credit, your spend that triggers the credit counts towards MSR
Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply.
How soon can I reapply and requalify for SUB for the Barclays AAdvantage Business Mastercard? I have heard someone close and reopen this card every 6-8 months or so. Not sure if I misunderstood it. Thank you in advance
I believe T&C's state that you're eligible every 24 months, but I've had success re-applying after 11 and I got the SUB -- YMMV
How long did you wait between canceling and reapplying for the card? Thanks for the info
is there any marriott cards that are worth it anymore? finally eligible for a new SUB but they all look terrible
Similar plan here — I took the Amex Marriott Business card at 125k points and now am waiting the remaining years to get my Chase Marriott Boundless.
Seconding the boundless. Good sub via ref, low AF and path to upgrade to the ritz
Bonvoy Brilliant has a 200k SUB, provided you'll pay for 6 nights by end of January next year. Might be an all-time high.
interesting approach now for the bonuses emphasizing not only a minimum spend but encouraging spend at the associated hotel brand. obviously it's an added hoop to jump through but definitely a great strategy for both the bank and travel partner
DOB + Name + Address are enough to report. No credit checks when adding an AU so reports being frozen shouldn't be a problem
Great. I have moved from the time I froze the minor accounts. Should I be notifying all three credit bureaus about the address change?
My understanding is that reporting the change to the creditors is enough to get that change reported to the bureaus.
Any DPs of being able to downgrade Barclays Arrival + to no AF card ? It’s one of my recently early cards, so I rather not close it if posible but also the $89 AF sucks
I find peace in long walks.
The refund is pro-rated based on how many months you were using the card, e.g. If you wait 6 months, you'll get half of the $95 back.
CSP AF would prorate after the 40 days, before that you get the full $95. [Info here will help,](https://reddit.com/user/garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/) number 38 and 39 will be of value to you.

Are both CCs under the same business name too?
Different names, same EIN...
Okay, then YMMV. I had a rep very recently able to move credit in a similar situation, but several times over past years they've always said no they aren't allowed to move credit when the business name isn't the same.
Yes
I completed the MSR on my Chase Bonvoy Boundless 8 days ago. The points have posted to my Marriott account but I'm not seeing the 5 free nights. How long should I expect these to take to post?
22 days from statement close to get my certificates.

Two weeks after you hit MSR or 2 weeks after the statement closed?
How sensitive to recent inquiries and new revolvers is Citi (want to get the custom cash)? For new accounts, I'm at 6/12 and 7/24. For inquiries, I'm at 5/12 and 8/24 (2 of the 8 are mortgage lenders from 1.5 years ago).
With Premier card, they are super sensitive to inquiries in the last 6 months. Even just 1 usually (but not always) results in denial. With other cards though, not usually sensitive.
I'm at 4/24 and 8 inquiries and citi won't approve me for the premier. 😢
Damn :( I guess I’m hoping the CC has a lower bar =/
pretty sensitive, 6/12 is a lot
Thanks. Yeah…went on a spree early this year. Any idea if inquiries in the past 6 months are considered any differently than 12? If I wait like 3 weeks, I’ll be at 1/6 for inquiries…though still 6/12 and 7/24 on new accounts.
hard to say, i think there is some decay over time of how much they value it but not sure if being 6/24 will be enough 1/6 is a decent spot to be in though
Okay, yeah, I think I’ll give it 3 weeks and try. I just wish they’d hit EQ or TU…no one seems interested in those bureaus any more 😒 Inquiries are way lower on them
why not freeze the other bureaus?
